Ordered Steak sub. Too much vegetables that you barely can taste the meat. The Ananas special was dry, and the roast beef and turkey tasted dry, but still not bad. They are famous for their chicken sub, but haven’t tasted that. Service is friendly. Price is good. Bathroom not clean.

Ordered Steak sub. The meat quality is really bad. Too much vegetables that you barely can taste the meat. The Ananas special was so dry, and the roast beef and turkey tasted dry and stale. They are famous for their chicken sub, but haven’t tasted that. Service is friendly. Price is good. Bathroom dirty.

I’ve eaten at several mediterranean restaurants in my life, and this place’s shawarma(meat with karkouk bread) is easily the most bland that I’ve ever tasted. Also, the staff confused our order. There are definitely better options in Dearborn for people wanting good Middle Eastern food.

I recently went into this place since it is down the street from me. This was my first time at the restaurant. When I walked in I wasn’t greeted and there were only 2 other people in the restaurant so its not like they were busy. The staff eventually acknowledged me by asking me how they can help… No hello, no how are you. NOTHING. I felt like I was rushed. I quickly placed my order and took a seat. About 15 minutes had gone by before I got up to check on my order and there it was sitting there behind the counter even after I told him I wanted to eat in. They gave me my food on a cheap flimsy plate, no napkins and my fries in a to go box. I ordered curly fries and trust me they weren’t curly. It was as if they gave me the remaining fries that were nearly garbage. They were really tiny pieces that looked like broken fries. I requested some fresh fries that were actually curly and went back to my seat to eat the rest of my sandwich… again, I had to walk up to the front only to find my fries were there and done but no one from their staff even mentioned it to me. I understand they probably don’t have waitresses but considering the place was empty at least let someone know that their food is done. The dining area is messy and the napkins need to be refilled. The food here is ok but the service definitely needs some help.

Hello. So here i felt that i have to write this. Me as a line chef used to work in different restaurants and know how hard this kind of work. Ananas is one of the best cafes i’ve been through. Employees are friendly, the taste if their food takes you into a whole new universe, and never forget the reasonable prices they’ve got. THISISMYNUMBERONECAFE. (I wanted to say something about their beef/chicken shwarma and their beef/chicken subs but i couldn’t find enough words to explain. You really have to try it guys).

Nastiest place ever. When they first opened they used to make their food good. Now I get an attitude when I complain. Their meat is so hard and their food is tasteless and not worth a penny. I would rather throw it up honestly. Get your fucking shit together.

I’m a regular customer and a great fan since day 1. I always get great food and service at a really fair price. You should really try all their subs, sandwiches, and cocktails. It’s simply the best in Dearborn heights and Dearborn. People can sometimes be really unfair in their comments. This place is always busy and there is a reason for that.

Not sure why people ate giving 4 – 5 stars? Really? Food bland and had a strange taste(chicken schwarma) hummus had no taste as well which was suprising, how can you mess up making hummus? Save your money and go to AL Sultan on Inkster Rd. Best middle eastern food around. If you like garlic dipping sauce? Beirut by night makes the best I can eat a pint of that stuff! Sorry Ananas… Not a fan of giving low scores but you need to step it up a bit and hire a better chef…

I’ve been here several times and always take it to go. I haven’t tried all their food but their chicken and meat schwarma sandwiches and the philly steak and cheese are out of this world. I’ve had schwarma sandwiches all over and this place is one of the top places I recommend. I will definitely order here again!

I was in Dearborn for the day and saw this place on my way back to Cleveland. I immediately knew I was either going to get a chicken shawarma or falafel sandwich(the best way to judge a middle-eastern place, is to try either of these two). I went with the shawarma since I was craving some lean protein! Employees are friendly and service was fairly quick, I was in and out within 5 minutes. I took the shawarma to go along with a soft drink, I took my first couple of bites and I was SHOCKED. This is the best shawarma I’ve had in the United States, most places don’t even come close to recreating it. So much flavor, the chicken doesn’t have fat surrounding it, and the garlic paste mixture is just perfect. WOW! I still can’t get over how good this was. It’s one of the best things I’ve ever eaten, and I eat a lot! I can’t wait to go back, just so I can have this again and possibly try other menu items. BTW, the sandwich is made on a large rolled pita and the meal plus drink cost me less than $ 5, can’t beat that. Go to ANANAS! :D

so my friend kept talking about falafel and gets it from another place but anana’s is down the street from me so I figured I would give it a try. once I walked in I knew it probably wasn’t going to be good service. all males. no one greeted me or said hello. i stood there and waited, and waited. i should have left but i had come from working out, didn’t want to cook, and was starving. they seemed to be really busy with delivery orders cause the phone was ringing constantly and everyone was running around bagging and assembling sandwiches. no one was in front of me, i was just waiting for the cashier to take my order. finally he did and i ordered the falafel sandwich, hummus and a fruit chunk cup. it took FOREVER to make. again, i could have left. FOREVER. they must have made all the delivery orders first before they even touched my food cause there is no way falafel takes 20 minutes to make. anywho, when i finally got my order, i was pleasantly surprised that the sandwich was actually good and seasoned well. came with pickled pickles and 3 pita. i was sad the pita wasn’t freshly made and is actually from the store next door(I’ve concluded that the café and the grocery store is family owned/run). the hummus was OH. SO. BLAND. absolutely no garlic or lemon flavor ATALL. they garnished with cilantro and no oil. i mean, i was so shocked that the hummus was so awful. it literally was just blended chickpeas. no salt, no nothing. i had to add my own fresh garlic, onion/garlic powder and salt to add flavor. this was the first middle eastern place I’ve been too that the flavor wasn’t on point. my highlight was the fruit chunk. i could eat those all day, everyday. it’s a blended fruit smoothie with huge chunks of fruit like bananas, pineapple, mango, grapes, strawberries, almonds, syrup of some kind and some type of chunk yogurt. oh, so good and refreshing and they are right behind the counter and calls for you to order it. i did go back a week later and got the falafel burger which came with fries. everything was the same just flattened into a burger shape. service was still the same. not so nice and no acknowledgement. just not very friendly. totally felt like an outsider. i want another fruit chunk but it’s not worth the wait nor the attitude. again, not outright, just indifferent/tolerant.

The food here is delicious. We ordered the steak wrap and it was full of meat and spices. Very tasty. We also ordered the chicken steak sub and it was even better than the steak wrap! If order the chicken sub again. The bread was OK and had some yummy sesame seeds, and was fresh but not the freshest I’ve ever had. We also got a strawberry smoothie which was very fresh and delicious(but maybe a tad bit too sweet). The only downside is that it’s a little too pricey for my wallet, but I would recommend the food and would here again if the time permitted.

The food is good. But they need to clean the dining room. I had to wipe my table off so my family and I could eat there. I will eat there again. I won’t eat there again meaning I’ll order it too go. Crispy chicken burger sandwich is awesome !!!

The subs here are legit. This new location has better subs than the ananas in east dearborn. I’ve ordered food from here regularly since they’ve recently opened, and I’m satisfied every time. :)
