We tried the restaurant when they first opened and liked it. Recently went back and they changed the setup for a full service experience and introduced a new sauce chilli Chico sauce. Try it with the ribs for a Great meal! Service was excellent and like the atmosphere.

My wife and I have been anxious to try the new BBQ restaurant in De Soto, MO for some time. Today we stopped in for lunch for the first time. We knew the restaurant was owned by the same owner as Lorenzo’s Italian restaurant that closed earlier this year the ONLY good non-fast food restaurant in the area. We are lovers of good BBQ and our expectations were high. My wife ordered the brisket sandwich with a side of potato salad and I ordered the brisket platter with potato salad and Cole slaw. While waiting for our order I noticed a person at the table next to us who must have ordered the«large» brisket sandwich because the amount of meat was huge. Well, when our food order was delivered I was surprised at the small amount of brisket on my platter compared to the large sandwich at the next table. I should have ordered the large brisket sandwich and a second side for the same price as the platter except i would have had MORE meat. The brisket meat tasted of fat more than a beef taste and the cook shredded the slices of brisket probably using the wrong type of knife to cut it. The potato salad had no taste or flavor and was blah. On a scale of 1 – 10 it is a 2. I will say the Cole slaw was very good. We will try the ribs on our next visit to see if we will become regulars of Savannah’s like we were at Lorenzo’s. WEMISSLORENZO’S.

Who in the world puts rosemary on BBQ’ed pork steaks??? Sides were awful! UPDATE Now getting private messages from owner defending his sub par offerings.

I am so glad that I finally got the chance to try Savannah’s. My husband and I really love BBQ, but we are also quite picky, so we were hesitant to try it. We went on a Saturday evening around 6:00 to find only a handful of patrons. I ordered the pulled pork BBQ salad and he had the hamburger with pulled pork on top. Was it the best smoked pork I’ve ever had? No. But, it was still pretty darn good. Very nice portions and a decent price, too. I’d definitely recommend this place if you are in the area. My only word of caution is to avoid the S’mores pie. For $ 2.95 you get a graham cracker with a little melted marshmallow cream and chocolate on top. Not sure what that’s all about, but it won’t keep us from coming back.

Had an awkward experience here. Arrived after lunch on a Sunday… They were out of half the menu and the girl came up to us as soon as we walked in the front door to tell us and hand us a paper menu. I would have been okay with making it to the counter, where there was a huge billboard menu in front of us before hearing the schbiel. Maybe we will try again sometime. Just kind of put us off from the get-go.

My husband and I went there and it’s nothing to brag about. The baked beans tasted like they were from a can and heated up and the mac n cheese was barely warm and tasted like it had sat around for a while and been warmed as well. I had the ribs which were just ok and my husband had the chicken, he wasn’t a fan I decided to try some of his and it was like sawdust-so dry even after trying to douse it with sauce. Disappointed :(

Really great food and cute atmosphere. I always get the chopped salad with pulled chicken on top. The salad dressing has a bbq flavor which is nice. Tried a burger with slaw on top and it was really good, too. Great kids menu. Son loves the pulled chicken sliders. Daughter gets the grilled cheese with baked beans for a side.

I had great ribs and pulled pork. I didn’t even need sauce for the ribs. The mac and cheese was not too shabby, either. Creamy and tasty, the way mac and cheese should be. Instead of the pretentious gunk some fancy places try and pull off so they can charge a premium. I actually liked all of the sauces. They have a chocolate chili BBQ sauce! I found that trying the sauces on the meat was actually better than simply tasting them alone. The staff was walking around and very attentive, especially since this is an order at the counter joint, and seat yourself. The only thing that could have been better would have been the ability to wash it all down with a cold beer!
