It was our first time, atmosphere is comfortable and casual. Love that there is a full bar. Food is excellent, highly recommend the ribs. The waitress was right on the ball, suggested getting one order, each of us get two sides. Much cheaper and plenty of food. One thing that we did not like, when our check came my husband glanced at it, added a generous tip. When we returned home we noticed that they had automatically added the tip to the bill(we should have been more observant) this is the first time we have experience with this practice. I am 99 percent sure nothing was posted in sight that this is their policy. The food and the service was well worth the tip they charged but not worth what we added. We will definitely go back again, learning a valuable lesson always check your bill closely.

Have been here before and it was really good. This trip not so much… Our waitress forgot to put in our order of Smoked Wings. We ordered my daughter’s double burger with No lettue, burger shows up stuffed with lettuce. Tell them and they basically scraped it off when it came back there was still a small amount of lettuce. I know I am making a mountain out of a mole hill. My daughter got sick threw up on the way home. I got sick a few hours later. I hate to give a negative review but it was my experience with this establishment tonight.

The food is delicious and Hannah was the best server. Not to be missed while in Daytona.

Food is great. They have totally mastered their game with the BBQ chicken and anything fried. Only problem is, don’t come in here expecting a quick bite. It took forever to get our food and the poor waitress was hustling hard but still wasn’t able to be around quite enough. They need some more employees, but definitely give it a try when you have the time.

So in leaving this establishment, I looked hard for a reason to NOT give this place a 5 star rating and I came up empty. I even turned to my beautiful wife and asked«was there anything that you DIDN’T like about this place and she replied«no» «I loved it». So Hannah our server was a great starting point, she described the way the meats were prepared and served including the wood used. She offered excellent options to first timers and her recommends were spot on. We started with an appetizer of Bbq nachos now A small order is plenty enough for 2 people and it’s only $ 5. This is kettle chips, pulled pork, melted cheese and the option of onions and jalapeños added. Absoultely delicious and great with any of the 5 Bbq sauces offered but man the grand slam was the shack sauce. oMG the shack sauce. You have to try that on everything. Hannah steered my towards the«pitmaster» that was a large sandwich with smoked brisket, pulled pork, Coke slaw, and shredded cheese. I added the homemade baked beans. Perfect flavor and texture in this amazing sandwich even the bun was over the top. My beautiful wife had the pulled pork sammich and she raved about it and the collard greens too. Hannah wrapped up our journey with some punch cards and a please come back soon. This is a fine dining spot the next risen you are in Daytona.

So disappointing that I am actually writing this review in the parking lot. The barbecue was very bland, there was absolutely no taste of the ribs or brisket being in a smoker. They tasted as if they were boiled in seasoned water. Not to mention that the combo plate was 26 dollars !!!

The waitress was great; however, the food lacked the smoke barbecue flavor they marketed. The sampler plate turkey, ribs and brisket was not flavorful, greasy and not from the smoker. It tasted like it came from the microwave. The only good thing was the corn nuggets those tasted good. All the Sauces were watery. I recommend not watering the sauces and pull the food from the smoker. Get a green egg or something.

Good lord, do I love this place! I visit whenever I’m in the area. The huge chimique is beyond amazing. The hot dog is super yummy too. I would come here, though, just for the corn nuggets. My goodness, do I love them. Two other important factors — the service is always amazing and the price point is wonderful. There’s a nice, large bar offering lots of beer options. They display awards and deserve them all and more!

I was really disappointed in Smoke Shack BBQ after reading so many glowing reviews. We got takeout of pulled pork and brisket, with sides of fried okra and macaroni and cheese. The sides were great, but both meats were SODRY. I choked a little on a bite of pulled pork because it was just so freaking dry. The sauces were fine, but no amount of sauce could make up for the horrible dryness of the meat. My boyfriend and I thought through the half dozen or so BBQ places we’ve been and this was the worst. We will not be going back.

I tried this place in Daytona because of the reviews and unfortunately i do not agree with some of the other reviews. The service was less then desirable with our waitress being very abrasive. I got the pulled pork sandwich which was below average, the coleslaw was not good. The corn nuggets were actually pretty good. My son had the fried baloney sandwich which he actually enjoyed very much, it was served with thin fries which were good as well. Overall the place is just okay.

Tried to seat at least 20 people and wanted to sit together, apparently it would be hard for the waiter to get around and didn’t want to sit us together, as well as getting an attitude with us, and as we asked for the manager to explain why we all(20) of us are leaving, she laughed.

We ate there today. It was just average. The pulled port was good. The brisket was so so. It was a bland color and no real smoke ring. The smoked chicken was good on the dark meat but the white meat was very dry. The ribs were ok. I would put this place just a little above a place like Sonny’s BBQ and not much more. It seems the person that won several BBQ competitions back in 2007 or so has lost the mission of true meat smoking in a real BBQ pit and now uses a mechanical smoker and electric cooking. The sides were ok but you can tell they were just products from a food service company and not an original«homemade» items. Open the can, heat, and serve. Our waiter(Glen) was also the bartender so we were split between him BSing with the locals at the bar and his second attention of waiting on customers at the tables. Not that it was bad service but you know how you get to the point where you plan to get up to get someone notice you. Just to that point of waiting on both the order to paying the bill. Plus there were maybe 3 tables being served so the place was almost empty. This was around 5:00. If I wanted BBQ again when in Daytona I would probably try a different spot just to see who is better. Sorry… Maybe better the next time.

Very tasty local joint… Brisket, pulled pork, and the corn nuggets were exactly what my taste buds and belly needed after a long day of riding. The tangy sauce was my favorite and mixing the Hot and Sweet on the pulled pork was yummy. More details later… Bike week calls.

I was a tad disappointed here, especially for a place which averages 4 stars on Unilocal with 30 reviews. Their bbq sauce is real good. But the St Louis ribs were small(not much meat), and not even close to fall-off-the-bone. I travel down here often via I-95, and will state that the chain, Sony’s BBQ, does better than this place. The only reason they are getting 3 stars is the friendly service — that was spot on. Oh, and I had their Porter Stout beer; very tasty.

After reading the reviews I was looking forward to our BBQ dinner. The customer service was very attentive and quick. The baked beans are the yummiest I’ve ever had, however the sweet potato fries were meh! We loved the Pulled pork and Angus beef BBQ burger topped with a jumbo onion ring which was really delish. My husband did find the Combo Platter — Chicken ½ very salty, but the ½ rack pork ribs were great. We enjoyed our dinner — thanks Unilocal! We thought it was so helpful that they listed the Tip Amounts for 15%, 20% and 25% at the bottom of the bill. Overall value-wise we did find them a bit overpriced.

I think there’s better barbeque in Daytona, although everyone else’s reviews are terrific so maybe we caught Smoke Shack on a bad day. I had the Pitmaster sandwich and my wife had the smoked turkey. We both thought they were overly large, overly expensive, and good, although not great. The fried macaroni and cheese is to die for, though.

Barbeque, the real deal. Great sauces. The price is right. Pork is shredded, not sliced loin. Way better than the other BBQ chains. They have brisket, turkey, chicken, and all kinds of booze.

The search for the best BBQ continues so I was fortunate(thank you Unilocal) to find this place I was told this location opened during bike week I was amazed I hadn’t seen it before, its tucked away in a strip mall behind Ruby Tuesday’s off of ISB. It’s about the cleanest BBQ place I’ve been to in a long long time maybe ever the décor is so cool with it’s giant signs and awards and the seating area is large and well laid out they can certainly accommodate large groups. We were met by our server who was extremely out going and did a great job explaining the menu, sauces, sides and the meat preparation. He also told us about how the owners take a personal interest in all parts of the business and it obvious they care about customer service and they put out great food. All the meats are smoked daily with dry rubs you choose the sauce, I think I just recommended this in my review of the last BBQ joint we tried you won’t get day old re-heated BBQ here it smoked daily the quality is apparent after your first bite. –Sauces– Sweet, Hot, Tangy, Vinegar, Mustard, Cranberry Jalapeño,(I tasted each one and I thought they all were good but the Cranberry Jalapeño and the Hot were my favorites. –St. Louis Cut Ribs– Fall off the bone tender, nice color, thin smoke ring with a minimum bark, smoked with a dry rub very well done and tasty I’m not a big fan of ribs other than my own but you’d be hard press to find better in the area. –Smoked Dry Rubbed Chicken– I ordered mine crispy(no one does this so I had to try it) you can also get it right off the smoker but I’m sold on the crispy, They take the smoked dry rubbed chicken and drop it in «hot oil» for a few seconds this is genius it actually sets the dry rub and locks in the moisture I loved it and would find it hard to have it any other way. –Smoked Brisket– Lean, tender, nice smoke ring, dry rubbed and wonderful this is hands down the best I’ve eaten in Florida up to this time. It can compete with the famous Texas brisket smoked across the Lone Star State. –Cold Slaw– Like no other I’ve every eaten it has a unique ingredient I can’t identify but it’s really good love the size of the chop and the mix it’s a standard side going forward. –Green Beans– I’m a tough critic when it come to green beans they were served hot and very good but they could be so much better cooked southern style using fatty bacon lol. –Garlic Toast– Excellent Texas size toast I need two pieces. –Unsweetened Ice Tea– Could of been a little stronger and needed more ice my bad for not asking We certainly will return we love going to places where everyone has great attitudes and seems to enjoy what they do and serves great food Smoke Shack thanks for doing BBQ right!!!
