This place is ok, but the quality of food doesn’t match the prices. Not sure if they are under staffed, you’re seated quickly but the wait for service and food was a bit long considering the amount of people inside. Now I know why people rather wait in line at Bubba Gump than go here.

Sat for 10 minutes on patio with no help. Husband went to say something all he got was menus. No one can to help just passed the table saying we’ll figure out who’s to help you. No stars

I went today for lunch with my coworkers as we were attending a conference in Daytona beach. The service was decent, I ordered the fish tacos and was truly disappointed I couldn’t even finish my meal. The fish was bland and the tacos had so much water I guess from the sauce that it made my taco soggy very unappetizing, I didn’t even eat the rest of my food what a waste of money. The view was beautiful and the 90’s music was great. I would not return because of the food.

We had our hearts set on the Mai Tar Bar,(since I had been there before), but they only open for dinner during the week. We dined at the Sloppy Joe restaurant and it did not disappoint! Kathleen was our waitress and she recommended both of our dishes and 5 stars to both. My wife had the Luau Salad(gluten free) and I had the Sloppy Joe with sweet potato tots. Delicious!!! They have Mai Tais also so I indulged in 1 and that was excellent as well. Would highly recommend and ask for Kathleen at lunch!

This place is great for grabbing drinks. Good selection of beer and mixed drinks at reasonable prices. The only food I had here was the firecracker shrimp and it was absolutely delicious. Great views of the ocean from the bar area. I would definitely come back!

Ate here our first night on vacation and it was just ok. The place was not crowded but severely understaffed and slow. We got one of the worse tables right near the door, because of staff availability. The lobster grilled cheese was good but did not have enough lobster and was not worth $ 17. The Luau salad was very tasty. Kids had coconut shrimp and sirloin steak… both were ok. Overall though, was a bit pricey for just ok.

The food was average and somewhat overpriced. The big sloppy was ok but I would not get it again. Our kids had two kids meals where they serve food on a frisbee and gave hem a reusable cup– very handy for the beach and hotel stay. Would try other local places before going back here. Average at best.

Where do I even begin? Our waiter had no knowledge of the menu, or even cared to recommend a drink option or food item. He was dry & lifeless, no energy what so ever. My friend ordered the garlic blackened wings … they were undercooked & light skinned(nowhere near blackened). I had the Cajun chicken pasta. it was the best part of our experience. I ordered it w| a side of lobster bisque soup… DISGUSTING!!! All in all, it was nothing spectacular.

I’m so glad I found this place the other day! The food was great and came out so fast. I had the coconut shrimp and the nachos. Soo delicious. Our server was awesome! I wish I remembered her name because she deserves recognition for being such a helpful and knowledgeable server. She was so friendly and really knew the menu in an out. My friend and I shared one of the fishbowls and she actually recommended we tried the vodka one on sale for $ 10. I’m so glad we did because it was delicious. She even washed it out for us so we could take it home. She was working in the outdoor bar area. The view was really nice too. Will definitely come back when I’m in Daytona.

I don’t know where to start… I came here to find a Cuban sandwich. They have one one the menu called the«Havana». Every where I have had a Cuban sandwich, they have never come with onions… this one did, with, on the menu, an admonition to NOT make any changes to this«Hemmingway» favorite. I do like onion as a side, fried, or sautéed, so I asked for no onions. The waitress, Kaylin… sweetie…told me there was no substitutions because the sandwiches are pre made. I didn’t eat. Makes me sorry I bookmarked this joint. The wife had fish and chips… Frozen and frozen… no fresh food here. The(I can only guess) manager tried to explain on the way out of the door, the«Havana» sandwiches couldn’t have any substitutions because they made them in the morning… I say they can’t, because they are frozen. Will I be back… no. Three stars for Kaylin, –1 for Sloppy Joe’s…’nuff said.

Great view of the beach, started without server. The place wasn’t business no excuse. Food was good and they have nice selection of beer. They just need to step it up a little.

I ordered the lobster grilled cheese & the sweet potato tots as my side. The tots had an interesting taste and fairly good. The lobster grilled cheese was alright too, and the bread used made it unique. However for a $ 17 price tag, I expect more lobster in my sandwich. Fairly good amount of cheese for being a grilled cheese. I ordered it «to-go» and the girl on the phone was VERY helpful. Good touristy location! Right off the beach in a three story plaza with other restaurants and places.

Actually I was really surprised! We sat in the bar area overlooking the water. The view was priceless! Drinks are a little watered down. If you go during the summer you can catch the freeuaic concerts which makes the experience even better!

Joy is absolutely the best waitress I’ve had in a long time. She was on it and even helped me open my crabs when she saw I was having trouble. The food is great and view of the ocean is amazing.

Hemingway could be rolling over in his grave. I’m not sure he would appreciate his likeness being used in a place that didDaytona Beach is the anti-New Orleans. Three lunch/dinners and three disappointments to a certain extent. Sloppy Joes is located in the Ocean Walk shopping area. This is Daytona’s «Orlando» area. We stopped by, taking a break from the beach, at about 2:30 or 3:00 on a Saturday with a sign that greeted us saying there were Happy Hour specials. After being seated, we received the upsa king. He immediately directed us to the drink menu where guess what, all the best drinks on the menu were also the most expensive. I asked about the happy hour specials and there were some pretty good prices. We ordered two margaritas. Our server returned a minute later to inform us that he forgot that there were no Happy Hour specials on Saturday. This was a huge disappointment after seeing the sign and being quoted the prices. Needless to say, I had trouble identifying if there was any actual alcohol in my drink. I had now went 0 for 2 on mixed drinks for the day. I would be very hesitant to buy any mixed drink at this place. You might want to stick to beer. As to the food, I ordered the sloppy joe. Frankly, I like Manwich a little better. It was so thin it wouldn’t stay on the bun. I must say that the sweet potato tatter tots were delicious. My wife said the pulled pork sandwich was OK

Wow what a surprise I had no idea this restaurant was so good loved the fish sandwich and the BoardWalk Salad was wonderful. great view and a comfortable restaurant with plenty of varied seating; water view, porch, and bar area seating. I enjoyed a 64 ounce Rum Punch in a souvenir fish bowl with a cool unk unk shark while wifey enjoyed a Long Island Iced tea. Then we enjoyed one of the aforementioned concerts.

The location, service and drinks you can’t beat! We had the sloppy nachos and sloppy Joe with sweet potato tots. The nachos were a little on the cold side but very good taste even though the chips aren’t fresh/home made. The sloppy joe was pretty good, the tator tots were a little undercooked but not bad taste. Overall the service was very prompt and the server was very nice. Location was great in the shade with view of the ocean. The rum runner was delicious, $ 5 special and they also had Amber woodchuck cider. I would definitely go back as the food was decent bar food, service good, drinks good and location awesome :)

I wasn’t expecting too much here, thank goodness. It is the tourist part of Daytona after all. We walked across the street after a graduation at the Ocean Center, in order to wait out the crazy traffic that comes with 4 graduations, in one day, at the same venue, with one parking garage.(But that has nothing to do with Sloppy Joes.) Great view of the ocean and open air seating… but you know you are in Daytona. Old biker dudes, frat boys and tourists… sigh. Had a few brews, that seemed to take forever to get. It was a Friday night, but the place was not that crowded. Decided to sample some of the Sloppy Nachos… sloppy joe filling on tortilla chips. It was pretty decent, the sweet flavor of the sloppy sauce made for a different nacho experience, when I prefer more of a kick, but they were an interesting try for sure. There was some ruckus about the check that kinda grind my gears… I went to let our server know I would be taking care of the table…(well, and that is how if we wanted another beer or to order anything… we had to walk to the server stand to track the guy down.) He took my card and after the last beer was drank, we let him know we wanted the bill. Not sure why, but he decides to hand the bill, with my card, to Adam, even after I had given him the card. Maybe I read too much into that, but seemed a little sexist. I think Adam was more ticked off than I was. Haha! No worries thou. I won’t be back unless I was physically dragged there.
