The place is dirty and the caucasian help is pretty rude especially the hostess or manager(the heavy set woman with red shirt) at front, with her bad attitude. I guess she wanted to go home early.

My last review was based on years prior. As of February 2016: Improved! The key is to order fresh and not eat something that has been sitting on the floating boat for a few hours. Fish is fresh and quality is very good.

I love this place, the sushi and hibachi are great. I would recommend the octopus salad and ask for it spicy, they will load it up with sriracha sauce.

I love everything hibachi and sushi. With that being said, I always enter any of these restaurants with high expectations. The wait to be seated took a while, considering I saw enough open seats at the hibachi. The waiting continued as I say for about 30 – 45 minutes for our chef, without having the sushi I ordered brought out(speaking of the sushi I never received it) Aside from that, the chef was amazing! Great personality, and food cooked to perfection! As tough to put 3 stars due to service, I can chalk it up to an understaffed night, considering this is the first night I have been here. I would recommend if you have the time on your hands to wait.

I’ve been eating sushi for 17 years in Hawaii, D.C., and overseas, this place’s sushi melts in your mouth. Takes it to a new level. Can’t comment on the rolls, just the sushi.

This place is a joke. Not very clean to my standards if you’re serving sushi… Service is sub par not too sure if will make it

Welp… tried this place when they have the $ 1.00 sushi after 10 pm. Maybe that was our mistake? The sushi river looked like all of the items were floating around all day, and were even worse to taste. Literally hated every item. The seaweed salad was ok at best. Our bill was only $ 8, but it was just soooo bad. Service was ok. Wouldn’t return if I had to.

I have been going to Sapporo since 2007. I moved to Jacksonville in 2008 and still visit frequently, enough to the point that the(amazing!) sushi chefs always recognize me. Honestly, since I have discovered this place I compare all other sushi to Sapporo because there is just something genuine and fresher about the way it’s done here. I’m okay with believing that it doesn’t get better than Sapporo(outside of Japan or maybe in NY or somewhere similar). Also, the yakisoba noodles are SO delicious as well. I think they use buckwheat noodles, which is truly authentic. I cannot wait until my next visit!

Dirtiest restaurant I have ever seen. The food on the«river» I couldn’t even keep looking at. I picked up a seaweed salad and it was soggy, DISCOLOREDANDWARM. I nearly gagged and could eat past bite one. There was tons of old food splattered all over the walls and ceiling, what looked like holes from rats and a ROACHCRAWLEDONTHEMOLDCOVEREDSUSHIBAR. Not to mention the sushi chief was using the same, uncleaned knife for fish, poultry, beef and veggies while prepping food. The service was just sad. I don’t think they hire anyone with experience because they have to give half of their tips to the sushi chief. I will never go back. Do not go there if you are allergic to mold, roaches, rats or are ceceptable to ecoli.

This was the only place for hibachi in the area years ago. Now it is one of several. Still the best place when you are down by the beach. The floating sushi conveyor belt is kid friendly. You can also get special orders. The hibachi is the same as you have seen at others in your life. The neighborhood is also great to walk around and enjoy in the day or night.

My husband and I love this place and have been going there every time we go to Daytona Beach. They have two sides, the hibachi and Sushi side. We always go to the sushi side. They have a very unique area with sushi boats that float in water and you can pick from different small plates with some pieces of sushi, sashimi or dessert. Plates are very reasonable and are color coded. They have 4 different prices. Our friends came along this time around and also loved it. You can order off the menu which they did. We always eat off the boats which are kept filled and if we want something different you can ask the sushi guy behind the counter and he will quickly make a plate for you. Service was quick, sushi is always very fresh and prices are reasonable. I have been to a similAr place in San Francisco and we eat sushi all the time in Orlando and I can tell you that it’s hard to beat the freshness and prices here. We will keep coming back!

As a former full time server, I’m well acquainted with a night in the weeds. Sometimes the place is full, your bartender is slammed, the kitchen is behind, and guests are needy. It happens. But as far as I know, that was not the case tonight. It is a Saturday, and I’m always willing to give a server the benefit of the doubt, but it’s off season and this was the slowest and most incompetent service I’ve ever witnessed. You couldn’t script this. The food really was pretty good, we got a large sampling of sushi that was all well executed. But you’d think, given that we wrote down our own orders, the whole process would be pretty simple, and our server would have some idea of what the sushi all looks like. We’re all pretty mystified. Food is not worth the slow service.

The sushi boat was pretty cool! A few appetizing varieties to choose from. I’ve walked past this place many times going to/from the nearby bars and finally decided to give it a try. They weren’t very busy and the service was great. The drinks were very good and the food was quite delicious. The ambiance was nice and quiet, great for talking. I would go back.

Been coming here for years. My son used to love it when he was little. There are two side of the restaurant. Hibachi side and sushi side. The sushi side you can sit on the individual tables or by the sushi bar. Sushi bar is operated by sushi on the boat floating on the water going around like«kaiten sushi» in Japan. The prices different are by the color of the plates range from $ 1-$ 5. You can also ordered from sushi menu and regular menu that has regular Japanese food like Japanese curry, ramen, udon etc… The place is pretty old so its not as clean. I think the place is own by a Japanese. Sushi isn’t the best maybe that’s why its affordable. Service isn’t the best either. Most of the time there aren’t enough of them. Have to wait a long time for them to come by. Its a good place if you are not picky with quality of the food and want a quick bite. Little kids love the little boats floating around. That will keep them entertain.

Great sushi in Daytona! We come here every time we are in town! It’s a really fun lunch place to sit at the sushi bar and get plates of sushi off the boats floating by! If you want to introduce someone to sushi this is a fun place to bring them. They even have rolls with chicken!

Once again, this place doesn’t cease to amaze me. Our waitress, Carley should immediately quit her job! Our drink order was fulfilled by Patricia who told us after dropping them off that she was not our waitress. Okay, well then who is? Twenty minutes later after Patricia walked by us, I don’t know, fifteen times, I flagged her down and asked her if she could ask our«waitress» to come by. Another ten minutes passed before Carley finally arrived to our table. She took our order, brought our soup and salad, and like a phantom — she disappeared. POOF! She was gone. Thirty minutes later, one of the two sushi chefs delivered our dinners to us. When we were ready to leave he provided us with a box and all Carley provided was our bill. I would highly recommend that if you’ve been selected to sit at one of her tables, move right away, you’ll thank me later.

We had the hibachi here and it was quite good. The soup was different than the usual miso soup I’m accustomed to having at Japanese places. I’m not sure what the base was. The ginger dressing for the salad was great. My scallops were well-cooked and the onions and zucchini were very enjoyable. We received a ton of fried rice, way more than any of us could eat. If i hadn’t been so spoiled by the amazing food at Sakura(Northeast Philly) over the last 20 years, I’d be really raving about Sapporo. I will say that the chef had me laughing a lot at his crazy antics and jokes. It was an enjoyable night.

I guess if you have nothing to compare it to, it’s a good place. Their meals include a salad with choice of dressing, soup, shrimp appetizer(2 shrimp), fried rice, veggies and the meal of choice. The place is oooolllldddd and bleak. The fried rice looks like it’s made with canned veggies that include corn and lima beans and NOEGG(I’ve eaten a lot of fried rice, never with corn and lima beans). I really like egg in my fried rice :(The fish is frozen tilapia lsimilar to those in plastic bags at walmart. The white sauce, to me, tasted like thousand island dressing. There were no noodles. The replacement for noodles was bean sprouts. I gave them 2 stars because, while I’ve had WAY better, it was edible. Tons of awards all over… yeah I don’t know how that happened.

Excellent! We sampled about $ 100 worth of sashimi/sushi and enjoyed meals at the steak table. My party of 7 took up the whole table and everyone appeared to really enjoy their meal. The cook did a great job entertaining us in a very non-flashy way. We still use one of his lines, «why noottt…» You had to be there ;-) I had the yellow tail sashimi appetizer(8 pieces and awesome) and the grilled shrimp hibachi dinner(perfect as always). Soup and salad included and was typical for a Japanese Steak House. We also enjoyed their very large bottles of sake! When we visit my mother we usually come here for dinner at least once every couple years. They even held our to go boxes while we walk off dinner. We pick them up on our way back to the car. I really like this place.
