my artist was great, he’d get 5 stars for sure, most of the employees seem cool, theyre the only reason the review wasnt 1 star, even the owner-husband is cool, but the wife is a total psycho. place is immaculate, but id rather get an infection somewhere else than deal with her and the c&*$ at the register. my fault for letting them rip me off, but ill also take credit for the review that they deserve If you ignore my warning, MAKESURE shes there, and PAYCLOSEATTENTION to her choice of words. If you still dont get a sense of discomfort, your tattoo will come out great. If she starts acting impatient that means shes getting ready to take advantage of you, so tell her to go $#(& herself and leave.

Was a little apprehensive to go there because all the negative reviews I saw, but I’m happy I ended up going anyways. I didn’t go for a tattoo, I went to get my nose pierced. Anyways, it made me a whole lot comfortable that a girl only a few years older than me was doing it. Her card says her name is «KayKay» I think? Everything was clean and sanitized & the process was fast.

Clean. Professional. But they take advantage of tourists. The people here over charge by 75 – 150 bucks. If this shop was in our town(which we have tons) of tattoo shops, genX would be out of business. Enough said. Don’t let them joke you around.

As others stated I would give this place a zero if I could. I’ve had 3 tats done here… not complaining about the work from the artist. They make u pay upfront — what if u don’t like the job? They also try to push a small tin of tattoo goo on u for ten bucks. If u wanted to use that crap u can get a can for .80. I left a very good tip for the artist and checking my bank account I find they charged me an extra 4 $. Thinking it was tax I called today only to have this guy say the cc companies charge us to accept a card. Many business do not pass that cost on… I called my cc company and they charged 1.80 for use of the card… so where did the other $ go. INTHEIRPOCKET. Avoid this place like the plague… I only wish my artist worked some place else. They just make up prices out of their head — two different employees gave me two vastly different prices. should have been a clue. A few years ago I paid 200 $ for 3 little dog pays that took 30 minutes… two days ago I paid 300 $ for a very involved tat after being quoted 600 $ at first. They lost a customer for good and I will discontinue sending friends there in the future… all over a couple dollars. By the way don’t buy the goo, use coconut oil, u can get two pounds for less that an ounce of tat goo, as sold here.

I would NEVER set foot in this place again. I would rate it a zero if Unilocal would let me. They were very rude and very unprofessional from the moment my friends and I walked in. They were also very pushy and unwilling to discuss the tattoo– they just wanted you to get in the chair and do it already. They are very overpriced for small and not difficult tattoos, and gave different prices for the same tattoo, the same size, on different parts of the body which I have never heard of before– but that isn’t what drove me to write this review. A different girl who was not in my group of friends made the mistake of putting her foot up on the chair for a minute to tie her shoe– ok, maybe that was rude, but the worker in the store proceeded to SCREAM at her for this. She called the girl a «defiant little asshole,» criticized the way her mother raised her, and kicked her and all of her friends out of the store after racist comment including telling one of them«to get your big black ass out of here!» My friends and I, after recovering from our shock that this scene was actually happening, also walked out. This place did not deserve any of our business and does not deserve yours either.

I have gotten all my tattoos here, starting in 1999. We live in Texas now, but I still waited until we came back here to get my two new ones! Very clean and friendly!

Sterile clean environment for a tattoo that can be done on site. Piercings I would give 5 stars to since my friends have gotten them done here with no complaints. My issue is the waiting time it took for the tattoo. I got one done for 50 minutes of time but the artist wasn’t ready when I showed up. A simple hour got dragged into 5 and a half hours for a time they could finally bother to do the tattoo. It’s a great tattoo and piercing service, but they need to figure out scheduling.

So I’m on vacation and decided to finally do some research on getting my first tattoo. We walked into a few shops in the Daytona area and I did not feel comfortable with the few that we entered. And for good reason… I found out later that it is ILLEGAL to get a tattoo in Daytona Beach. So the shops that we entered, look like tattoo parlors, without the chairs and artists. They had drawings on the walls but from what I understand, they take your deposit and DRIVE you to another location to get the actual work done! Really!!! I knew it didnt feel right from the minute I walked in. So anyway, I get home that night and do some more homework. I came across Generation X’s website and decided to go have a look(Technically, they are located in Daytona Beach Shores). I did not have an appointment but I knew what I wanted done. I just didn’t know where on my body. Being that it was my first tattoo, I was super nervous. When we walked in, we were greeted with a smile from two knowledgeable gentlemen. They were kind and patient with me. Before I signed any papers or gave them any money, I got a tour of the shop and met the guy who was going to do my tattoo. His name was Chino. He was in the first stall by the front window. The artists were in a separate area from the cashier. It was very clean and professional. I felt I had my privacy. There was a vending machine where I paid a buck for an ice cold water(in case I wanted to pass out LOL). Chino drew up my tatt and we decided to go upper ankle. He took his time and asked me numerous times how I was doing. We joked around and YES it HURT, but I did NOT pass out and the pain was tolerable. Granted I got something small, but I think I can do it again! uh-oh… Anyway, I would have given 5 stars, but I feel the tatt was a bit pricey for what it was. I was told $ 50 when I walked in, but when the ankle was chosen, it went up to $ 60, plus tax, plus Tattoo Goo + tip = $ 90. Chino deserved the tip and then some. They will take a pic when complete. Oh, and beware… if you don’t like thrash metal, or any heavy music, you may want to bring ear plugs. Thankfully I liked the tunes and it actually helped me get through the pain. I would go back again and recommend it to others. I’m thinking any bad reviews this place may have gotten are older and not reflecting what’s there now. «BLOODMOPTOCHINO’s STATION!!!» LOL!!!(Inside joke to help them remember me.)

Please don’t get tattooed here. Learn from my mistake. Just about all I can say for this place is that they’re dirt cheap(there’s a reason) and it’s clean, so at least you won’t get a staph infection along with that great new tramp stamp. This probably says quite a bit about the clientele they cater to, but I had just turned 18, was on vacation in Daytona Beach, FL, and didn’t decide what I wanted until I walked into the shop and picked something off the wall. The tattoo is… not good, to say the least. The environment was so sterile I felt like I was in a hospital, which is a coincidence, because I should have had my head examined for even thinking about going into this place to begin with. I have since learned that tattoos come out much better when there is planning and creativity involved, not to mention artistic talent. I’m surprised to see that this place is still in business, although from the looks of their website they have upgraded the caliber of artists a bit since I was there nearly 5 years ago.
