We were looking for a place to stay for winter break that was on the beach and wouldn’t break our bank account. This place fit so we tried it. Thanks again to the other Unilocalers who tipped me off to the«resort fee» not included in the room charge. If that had been a surprise, I would have been unhappy for sure! OK, let’s break down this place… The good: –Convenient location –Nice pool and hot tub –Right on the beach –Decent price –Clean –All rooms have a balcony and a view of the ocean –Our room had a mini-fridge and a small coffee maker –The front desk staff was friendly and helpful –Free parking — get your parking tag when you check in –You can hear the ocean and feel the warm breeze by sleeping with the balcony door open and the air conditioner off(if that is your thing) –Wifi worked fine The could be better: –The fitness center consisted of 3 machines(treadmill, elliptical and bike) in a pretty small place –The rooms are in need of a facelift — it seems that they started doing this but have started on elements of rooms but not overworking a room in its entirety so they kind of have an identity crisis –The bathroom is small and the shower curtain blocks out any potential light you’d have –There was no consistency in how and when housekeeping would come and most times, they didn’t make the bed and there were times that the new towels had stains on them –Still not entirely sure what the«resort fee» went towards –There seemed to be a buffet set up and maybe a bar/restaurant but I never saw it open It was a decent stay and it served its purpose. Can’t beat the location. There is a mini golf and an amazing breakfast place right across the street. Yes, the elevator was slow, but there are two of them and they do have stairs too! The place is apparently under new owners who are putting some money into the facility so I would return to see what types of improvements they make.

The place is ok for the price. It’s very old and shows it. I opened the sliding glass door and almost got sick from the smell of the curtains. It needs a major renovation to bring it up a couple stars. The internet connection is very slow at best. Anyone that gives this place a high rating is excused, you obviously never stayed in a nice hotel. One review gave it 4 stars and wrote this: «Recommendations for the Hotel: Speed up the Elevator Replace the Blankets Paint the porch floors, there bad from the AC drip Improve the rooms balcony furniture Get rid of the 1980s red floral cover Need 1 more Ice Machine» How do you say all that and give it a 4 star? Reinforces my point Anyone that gives this place a high rating is excused, you obviously never stayed in a nice hotel.

This was the worst placed I’ve ever stayed. I booked through a 3rd party and when I got there was told there was an additional $ 9.95 resort fee per night(I had two rooms so $ 80 additional dollars) that the 3rd party stated wasn’t revealed to them as it is with other resorts. The rooms are dusty, musty smelling, needs a serious painting and removal of those old locks on the balcony door. Not to mention the balcony needs a makeover. My bed linen was dirty on the first night so we didn’t sleep in that bed. Day #2 housekeeping still didn’t change the linen and the dirt was very obvious on the linen so I left a note saying please change the linen and empty the trash. No microwave plate was in microwave. We had a room with the partial kitchen — no dishwashing liquid, no dish towels, only one fork in the silverware, no pots and pans and no paper towels in what is supposed to be considered a kitchen. The ice machine was dirty, molded and didn’t work — only to find out later that the only working machines was only floors 2&8 — what an inconvenience. Our clean towels consisted of a towel that was disgusting and had brown stains or dirt all over it but it was left folded in our bathroom on the clean towel rack with the other clean towels. Now whoever folded this towel had to have seen the stains/dirt bcse they were quite obvious and all over the towel. Upon checkout I took the towel with me to the front desk and although the young lady apologized she didn’t seem alarmed that such a towel was left in a guest room. I also complained about my linen and the lack of supplies in a partial kitchen. She simply stated she will have to speak with housekeeping. Ironically another guest checking out heard my complaints and stated that her linen didn’t smell fresh either on the first night but smelled as if someone had already slept in the bed. A male guest checking out advised us on our next visit to ask for a room with new carpet bcse apparently these are the better rooms. I advised him that it was doubtful I would be returning. Oh did I mention the slowness of the elevator.

This place is just ok. Was disappointed that the tiki bar was closed, and there was no lively music as promised… and on Memorial Day weekend! The front desk was unapologetic. Also, there are only 2 small elevators and they are VERY slow, making check out a nightmare.

Accomodations: Decent stay, I travel alot and this is not The W hotel for some folks who bash«good» beach stays. Every place like this deals with elements and over-all they do a Great Job! If you had a bad room I’m sure it was a one case deal. Pool: Its Clean and has a great deep end, its not a plunge pool. plenty of Chairs, Tiki bar opens at noon followed with simple short order hot dogs, burgers or Chicken and actually was real good! Cold Beers, Mixed and Frozen drinks you can’t go wrong. BYOB Coolers are NOT allowed… Elevator: There’s 2, there slow — however which place isnt slow during breakfast and the evening. Also think unless your uncapable of walking down 2 – 3 flights WALK and stop crying. Parking: One Car per Room — during events its packed but they do accomodate well parking just gets a lil crazy if you get home late. Beach Access: Easy In and Out Breakfast: Mikes Galley right across the street wall over and stuff your face! Recommendations for the Hotel: Speed up the Elevator Replace the Blankets Paint the porch floors, there bad from the AC drip Improve the rooms balcony furniture Get rid of the 1980s red floral cover Need 1 more Ice Machine I gave it a 4-Star as the service was great for Me and my friends and we had a great time.

Was my first time in Daytona Beach and that in itself is nothing to write home about. Now let’s discuss this hotel. If you have a nice clean home that is pest free, then you will not be comfortable here. My room was dirty upon my arrival. A very unhappy lady showed up to clean it. And she tried her best. But the room itself was just gross. It needs a deep cleaning, especially to get the stickiness out of the carpets. The toilet stopped up and we were told to plunge it ourselves because no one was available at night. Oh and the elevators are slower than two turtles jumping rope.

I spent a few days here and was very pleased with location, staff, room for the price. Will definitely stay again. Btw I wish you could do the Unilocal check in AFTER leaving. Safety reasons I don’t check in bc criminals know you’re on vacation!

I got the Acapulco by chance when I booked a 3 star hotel in Daytona Beach Shores on hotwire(about 85 bucks after fees/taxes). It’s about what you would expect, but there were some nice touches. We got there at around 2, which was a full 2 hours before check in but the front desk lady was nice enough to let us in anyway. We got a room on the 8th floor, which is the top level. The way that the building is designed, all of the rooms have an ocean view with a little balcony. The view was pretty nice from the floor I was on. The room was alright. Everything was clean and the queen size beds were comfortable enough. The TV in room 817 was probably 50″ The amenities were ok. The so-called gym was a little room with three pieces of cardio equipment. The pool is pretty big and has plenty of seating around the perimeter. There’s another, smaller pool for kids and a hot tub that stayed packed. The pool also has a tiki bar with about 5 seats that slings fruity drinks. At night they open up a lounge that has a pool table and beers beers beers. Having been around the dirty streets of Daytona a few times, I can say this is one of the better places on the water. Daytona is full of shitty hotels, but this one is not bad. Definitely worth the price tag.

First off, let’s get the good stuff out of the way. The staff, for the most part, was very friendly and helpful. Part of me feels bad for them because they have to work at this place. Now for the rest of it. The moment you get off on your floor(in my case the 2nd floor) you’re taken aback at how muggy it feels. Keep that in mind as it’s a continuing theme for the rest of your stay. I arrived at my room and was flooded by a wave of warm, humid air. The AC does nothing to dry out the air and in fact, seems to make the air more moist. The beds never felt particularly clean and the towels are pretty thin; think scraping the water off versus actually drying it. The TV and pillows were the bright spots of the stay. Each bed has three, square shaped pillows which not only feel soft and fluffy, but also help you keep your face off the bed, win-win. The TV is a very big screen and it gets most local channels as well as some of the premium channels. ESPN and the other standbys are all there too. The wi-fi was free and easy to connect with, which is always nice. The outside of the hotel is likewise a mixed bag. They neglect to tell you that they only give one parking spot per room, so if you travel with a buddy who has his own car on a busy weekend like I did, you might be left searching for parking. The back end pool area is actually really nice and has a lot of space to either just chill by the fire or hangout with friends. There’s a seedy bar on the first floor where middle aged ladies congregate, it was good for a beer and a laugh. Not a horrible hotel, but not a good one either. Works in a pinch.

This place is not too bad. The windows are filthy dirty though. And the continental breakfast isn’t free. You have to pay. It’s the smallest one In its spot. Which makes it nice because housekeeping comes in everyday and makes the bed and new towels etc. they have a spendy resort fee. Not the worst place but not the best either.

this hotel is a joke!!! a resort?! more like a low budget hotel! the customer service is ridiculous. the only thing good about this hotel is the bed. the room stunk like urine, the housekeeping was rude, the shower head broken, and the ocean view is more like a car show. i called to complain and they tried to contact the hotel but all they got was a rude manager on duty. i wanted out of this so called resort but i wouldv’e beed charged. people!!! do not stay here if your visiting daytona!!! there alot of other beautiful resorts around here. this hotel looks like it needs to be torn down a rebuilt like the places around it. i am here right now in the room waiting for the coffee requested 2 hours ago!!! and if you want or need towels, all they say is «we are working on it» that should be this hotels slogan! «we are working on it».

Despite the reviews we read, I would say the hotel is worth the money you pay. We got it for cheap on and I was satisfied with it overall. The room has a kitchenette, that we used to prepare a meal one of the nights. The Flea market in Daytona Beach is an awesome place to buy some produce and other items! The beach access is great, although I don’t like how motorists can drive along the beach. But other than that the water was warm and it was breezy!!! The hotel also has a breakfast which we did not partake in, but it was there. I saw a few gnats flying around and I was not happy about that. I would stay here again if the price is right again, we had no major complaints!

This hotel was ok… Good price and on the beach. It was really old. Shitty slow elevators. Stinky sticky beach towels. Rental company puts up umbrellas and chairs all over the beach in the best spots then wants to charge you $ 30. No thanks. Heard tons of air mattresses being blown up down the hall. No parking at night. Pool full of weirdos…

I was a little skeptical coming into this place… but it all turned out okay. The front desk girl was some young Latina with a lip ring. But she was super nice, I asked where the beach view was, and she kindly upgraded my 2nd floor room to a 4th floor room with a view. Room was comfy, there’ s a balcony with a table and two chairs outside. There’s a fridge, electric stove top, microwave and silverware in the drawers. Channel list on the middle night stand. There was an issue with our heater and it was promptly taken care of when we got back to the hotel room after dinner. Good for a one-night stay. Tip-bits: Laundry services available, require quarters $ 5 parking/night Free shaver, toothpaste and Suave body lotion at the lobby Comp BF Free wifi Beach access Rooms 5th floor and above are under renovation now. 4th floor is the highest now Pool access by the beach
