Woodman Park Apartments

I have lived here 2 years. New management is very rude and demeaning. When you need something fixed they will do one small thing at a time and the maintenance man will not comply with proper rules in order to come into your apartment. Expect him to barge in anytime he wants… example…he knocked once and I ran down the stairs to see who it was and already had my door open! Rude! I am a person who likes my privacy and this type of treatment is not okay with me. When I called management about this they acted like it was my fault and nothing can be done about it now. Moving out as soon as my lease is up! Also, I will never live in a place that has air conditioning units in the windows, and baseboard heaters again! We had a $ 400 electric bill for one month because the baseboard heaters were turning on by themselves! We do not turn them on because it is so expensive. We have our own heaters that we bought instead and it turns out the baseboards were turning on by themselves without our permission… also, After a storm came by last year contractors had to do some work outside on several beams in front of our townhouse. They used the electric plug that is on the outside of our building (which is on our electric bill) for 2 days straight. When I contacted management about this they told me to bring in my DP&L bill to see if there is a difference. Well of course there is going to be a difference month to month dummies… one month it was very hot and we used air conditioning units, the next month we did not use any air or heat. This place is so rude. Oh! One time they had to do work on the concrete all around the apartment complex in the parking lots. They made a map of the days that everyone needed to be moved to a different area so they could work on it. I woke up one morning to contractors blaring their horns for people to move their cars… about 20 cars were towed because the contractors did not follow the map. The map stated if it rained on one day then work would be pushed to the next day. Of course they decided to go ahead with the work even though it rained, without any notice. Luckily I was able to move my car because the horns woke me up. However, many other’s cars were still towed… Last summer we did not even have the pool open because it took them like 6 months to re-​do the pool which is now smaller and sucks. This place is a money trap. This place is awful. It also is full of bugs because there are so many crevices for bugs to crawl in, the air conditioning units, under the front door is a huge space that cold and hot air blows in and bugs come in. I do not recommend this apartment complex. There are much better places around. For how much money they are getting form people’s rent this place should have better updates. I honestly can’t believe that in this day and age air conditioning units and baseboard heaters are still used. This is not the 70’s! This entire complex should just become a section 8 complex, seriously, it should be free. I obviously was young and dumb when I first looked at this place, to think I was excited about it sickens me. I was 20. Now I am a nurse and ready for something that isn’t ghetto. Moving out of Dayton entirely!!! Bye Felicia!!!

I lived at Woodman Park for two years and for the first year things were good. The management changed. After the change, things went downhill fast. My apartment got flooded when the person living above us left her bathtub on and fell asleep… When I called to complain, the only help we got offered was an industrial sized fan! Then not long after, this idiot moved out and a new couple moved in who liked to use each other as punching bags. She didn’t have a job so he had to be the one on the lease who supposedly had a background check (because I did, right???) But no, he had active warrants on him and the office still did nothing about this. I called the police nightly for months and slept with earplugs in for months as well. We finally bought a house and I wrote a scathing letter to management detailing all my issues and asked to be released my from my lease a month early due to all the issues I’d had. Clearly they agreed that my experience was terrible because they let me out of my lease a month early so I could get the hell out!!!
