Troni’s Pizza & Restaurant

This is my favorite Italian restaurant in Dayton. A very straightforward non pretentious «Hole in the wall» that serves up menu items that are clearly homemade. I love the spinach rolls and pasta with meat sauce. They also have a very good Sicilian pizza and as well as a New York style pizza that is authentic as it gets.

Nice change of pace from chain restaurants. good food and attentive service.

I’ve lived here almost 50 years and this is my favorite Italian restaurant. The pizza is as authentic to New York as you’ll find anywhere. The spinach roll is delicious and the pasta is always cooked perfectly with very tasty toppings. I normally do carry out but the few times I have eaten in, the service was adequate.

The food is fantastic and the prices are great, I love the stromboli. My girlfriend likes the pasta trio, we both love the garlic knots, this place is a gem.

This is our go to place for Italian. It is delicious every time we are there regardless of our order. The pizza is awesome and the linguini in white clam sauce is splendid. Big portions and a simple delicious side salad make for a perfect meal. The staff is friendly and they act like they want to be there. You won’t be disappointed.

It’s good for a Dayton area pizza place, but it’s hardly authentic Italian as the owners are actually from Albania. The portions are reasonable, but not quite large enough to accommodate those with large appetites. All in all, it’s better than Olive Garden but nowhere close to what a real Italian restaurant would entail. I may return if I want a break from the normal fare around Dayton, but it won’t be anytime soon.

Place is amazing. I have lived in this area for over 10yrs & JUST discovered Troni’s. So delicious! Pizza is fabulous! We LOVE the calimari. Rare to find a place that makes calimari so perfectly. Eat here!!!

Love love love love!!! Portions are huge! My husband and I love Italian and this is a great little charming restaurant. Staff is amazingly friendly. The Chicken Parmigiana is my personal favorite. I definitely recommend this restaurant

My girlfriend and I have been to Troni’s now about a dozen times, and every time is a good experience. It’s a quaint, low key restaurant that feels like new York transplanted itself to the middle of Dayton, with the atmosphere comfortable and simple. If you want fancy, go elsewhere.
When we do a take out order, we will sit at the bar and have a glass of wine and appetizer (calamari or garlic knots are awesome) while the pizza cooks, which is the main reason we go. The Sicilian pizza is huge, and between two people will provide enough leftovers for two or three lunches; it may be the best reheat pizza I’ve ever had!
For dine-​in nights the wine bottle prices are very reasonable, and we always leave feeling both full, and that our money was well-​spent. If you want a good pizza, this is the place to get it!

Best NY style pizza I have found in the Dayton area. It is made to order and they use fresh ingredients! Last visit we got the baked ziti… Also AMAZING! This place is my favorite Italian place by far.
Only 4 stars because the service wasn’t the best. Older gentleman waited on us the past 2 times. Seemed like he was taking his dinner break and serving us at the same time. Drinks stayed empty way too long.

I’m Italian born. Food was ok, but not authentic Italian.
Reading the reviews, I saw several people saying that they are Italians. Sorry, but they are not, as the food that they serve.
If you don’t mind, next time you go there, ask them «Where are you from?»

Love this place! Great food and not too expensive! I recommend the garlic bread with cheese as an appetizer. Then, the large pizza with pepperoni and banana peppers.

I love this place, minute I walk in the smell of the food is divine! Our cute Italian waiter is a sweetheart! Always very polite and attentive. First time I got spaghetti and meatballs, AWESOME! So hot I had to wait about 15 minutes before I could eat it! My son had pepperoni pizza which he LOVED! The garlic rolls were awesome. I would definitely recommend this place! It’s my now go to restaurant.

Best family Italian around. Small but the very best. Service is great and the food is awesome. Get some of this now. The pizza is the best but try some of the other dishes. You won’t be disappointed.

Awesome pizza. Thin, New York style that you have to bend to eat. The sausage is one of the best parts. I watched the cook prepare my pizza and he was hand cutting the slices of sausage from a large link of sausage. Excellent.
It may be more expensive than chain pizza places, but the ingredients are much better. You get what you pay for. A large pepperoni pizza cost more than $ 8 in the 80’s. What do you think they make a $ 7 pizza out of? No thanks, I’d rather pay for good ingredients and better pizza.

Growing up in Dayton enjoying Dominic’s most of my life, the best Italian around, but is no longer unfortunately I’ve been on a search to find Southwest Ohio Italian food to replace the legendary restaurant and I’ve found it in Troni’s!
Troni’s located in Kettering close to the Dorothy Lane and Wilmington Pike intersection, ironically just behind a Papa John’s pizza.
Troni’s décor is average, but neither was Dominic’s, hey when you have good food who cares about the décor, right? You basically seat yourself on the left or right side or at the small bar. Plus they don’t have much of a beer and wine selection, offer more or have a craft beer or two and would be great.
Their house salad is okay, nothing like Dominic’s house salad, you reeked of garlic for days, but they do have their homemade garlic knots that come with your salad, which come pretty close & I’ve ordered extra because they’re so good!
You will find amazing lasagna served in its own crock and filled with meats for the meat version and spinach, eggplant and zucchini in the vegetarian version.
Everyone raves about their NY style pizza and everyone around us was enjoying pizza and lots of carryout going on throughout our meal.

The pizza here is fantastic. The crust is always perfect; not over or under cooked. I’m also a big fan of their eggplant parmesean and the little bread twists they serve before the meal.
The atmosphere is homey and the restaurant is always clean. This is a regular haunt for me and the Mister.

If you’re looking for a good, thin crust NY Style pizza with great sauce then look no further! A group of us went to lunch and found they had awesome lunch specials but if you are looking for a good pizza to share, this is the place! My husband and I ordered the Old-​fashioned pizza with pepperoni and sausage and it was delicious! Probably one of the best pizzas we’ve had in Dayton, OH! There is a red sauce with fresh crushed tomatoes that is just amazing, and our friend had the Bruschetta Pizza, which is like a margherita pizza which was also delicious! Garlic knots were just amazing, and a few others had a spinach roll and the spagetti, and there was no one complaining about their food! Service was decent, but there was only one server and she was working pretty hard and our food came out at a decent time considering there was 10 of us! We’re definitely coming back, also it’s location is right next to the Papa John’s and the parking lot is real little so I suggest carpoooling!

We ordered the Sicilian pizza with only mozzarella cheese 12″ which contained 3×4 = 12 slices total. The pizza may have been meant for 4 people because we still had 4 slices left with only 2 people eating the pizza. The crust was excellent due to its Italian spices, sauce distribution, and crispness. The best part was the mozzarella cheese. I also like that the soda comes in cans which allows me to portion control. I cannot wait to try their other dishes and appetizers.
