Authentic, super tasty food for reasonable prices. Was worried about finding good Mexican food after moving from Los Angeles. So happy someone steered me here. I thought it was my little secret, but I am happy that so many people enjoy it as much as I do.

I ordered chicken nachos that came out soggy and barely warm. My boyfriend ordered chile rellenos that he described as dry, crusty, and limp. The filing was sub par, with not a lot of taste. We came to this place because of the great rating on Unilocal, but we were so disappointed! There was only one other family dining in, so it wasn’t busy… but we still waited 20 minutes for our food. Our waitress was nice, but she was too busy playing on her phone to see we needed drink refills. They also don’t serve alcohol.

Excellent horchata & rice, cheap lunch specials, v authentic atmosphere. I slipped into Spanish a few times because it was so similar to taquerias in the Yucatan. If you’re in Dayton at lunchtime, go here!!!

I love Mexican. Truly, truly love it. As in, could eat it every day. Vacationing in Mexico and eating authentic Mexican fare was heavenly. But finding authentic Mexican food in Dayton was always a lost cause, until the Taqueria came along. I love this place. Best, most authentic Mexican food you’re going to find in the area. Simple, authentic tacos(although the tortillas are not homemade, but at least they’re corn, and fresh). Excellent guacamole, ceviche, tamales, and horchata. The salsa is great, and grab an authentic Mexican coke. You can easily fill up for less than $ 10 per person, and then some. Service is very fast, as well. Be prepared, though – the location is sketchy, the interior and décor is extremely low-budget, and if you have to use the restroom while you’re there, you’ve got to ask for the key and go around back. I’m not sure what you’ll find back there; I’ve never been brave enough. But the food is well worth it, and you can always take food to go.

Visited Taquería Mixteca 3÷1÷16. Me and a couple of friends were lured here on our trip to Dayton by the great Unilocal reviews the place has. Taqueria Mixteca is cosy, run by nice mexican people, with a fast service, and with free tortillas waiting for you when you arrive. Portions are huge! I ordered a Jalisco Burrito and, even if I was starving, I could only eat half of it. My friends, who ordered Fajitas, took some food out too. I totally recommend this place!

One word… Authentic! If you’re looking for tex-mex you should go elsewhere. Go during the day.

I honestly don’t know what I’d do if this place ever closed down. Carnitas sopas, bistek ranchero, chorizo burrito(hold the lettuce), chorizo torta(ask for the three sauces), a big bowl of pozole on the weekend and maybe the best plain ol’ salsa ever… I can and normally do eat here more than once a week.

Amazing tacos! Guacamole was fresh and tasty. Crispy fresh chips. Best Mexican we have found so far in Dayton. Additional baskets of chips cost $ 2.50:(otherwise, very fair prices!

Had the homemade guacamole to start. Haven’t had guacamole this good in a long time. Definitely the best around. Followed that with the Jalisco burrito with steak. Amazing! Great prices, great service, and awesome food. Highly recommend this place for a bit to eat. I will definitely be back soon!

This place was better than I had expected. I came in with low expectations. As soon as they brought out the chips and salsa I was starting to like this place more and more. The food is pretty typical at the restaurant nothing really stands out. Food was freshly prepared and came out in a decent time. Service was good too. Flan tasted old and was too sweet. If I come back I will just order the chips and salsa with a side of fresh guacamole.

The chili rellenos be off the chain! This place is super authentic and in a really sketchy part of Dayton however that is not to understate the authenticity of the place. The menu is overwhelmingly huge just like at the big chain Mexican restaurants, however The menu does have its redeemable qualities I was in the mood for chili rellenos, and their rendition was delicious! I. Also had a steak taco which was not that great at all it was a bit lackluster and the meat wasn’t season one but I didn’t enjoy it but I would be back for other menu items

Don’t let the location in an old drive-thru restaurant scare you away. It’s not much too look at but the food is good. They recently re-worked their menu and it looks like prices on some items have gone up slightly. Food is still very reasonably priced. Fast service, liberal with the chips, and good salsas. BYOB.

3.5−4 stars Pros: good food. lots of Real mexican food options like tortas, Chorizio, fish tacos, and flautas. food came quick, chips and salsa. Cons: pretty trashy ambiance, bathroom is outside, small. I was waiting for 5 min till a waitress came by; though once she did the service was excellent. I’m from San diego so I’m always on the look out for good Mexican food. Ive tried El Toro(awful), and a place called El Rancho in fairborn(also awful) and now Taqueria. By far Taqueria is the better of the three. I’m giving 4 stars for here in dayton but if this place was back in san diego it would be around 2.5−3 stars. I got the Bistek Campechano which is basically steak with some chorizo and mushrooms covered in a cheese sauce. The flavor was very good but I thought it was a little light on the amount of meat. I didnt get a choice of tortillas but the ones I got were good. Price was cheap for sit down Mexican food, expensive when compared to a taco shop or fast food. I also got the Pork Tortas, was very good, prob the best you are going to find around Dayton. This place is divey. I also find it weird that they even bother with servers. Youre pretty much just coming here for the food. They should make it like a Taco shop back in San diego where you just order up front or through a drive through. I highly suggest that you order togo and eat it somewhere else. Though eating inside once is a cool experience especially if they have some Spanish soap operas on.

Quick service and good Spanish museum playing in the background. The chips they brought out were a bit stale and the tacos actually cost more than the price listed on the menu. I wouldn’t go out of your way to visit here.

What can I say that hasn’t been already said? Some co-workers introduced me to this place, and I’ve been in love ever since. Every single trip had been great. I’ve seen a few people refer to the location as sketch, and maybe it’s because I’ve lived around here all my life, but there is nothing to worry about. There were a few reviews that weren’t pleased with the service. Maybe they entered with overzealous expectations, but I believe for a hole in the wall joint in a poor area, I think the service is fantastic. I cannot recommend this spot enough to anyone local or otherwise, you won’t be disappointed.

I cannot say much more than what anyone else has — divey, a little sketchy but the absolute best Mexican food in the area. I have gone here a lot and I have never gotten anything but the carnitas burrito. You cannot mess with perfection. Its as big as your face and $ 6. The only downside is some times the service is a little slow — it really depends what waitress you get. They don’t seem to mind when people get impatient and get their own refill. Also their bathroom is outside so there’s that.

The best Mexican food in Dayton! I was skeptical at first due to its location and the tiny little building it inhabits, but I was truly impressed. The service was great and every employee was super friendly. The cheese dip is a white melted cheese blended with jalapeño, the tacos are amazing and simple, and the gorditas are fluffy and stuffed with yummy ingredients. It was all delicious. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting great Mexican food for a very reasonable price!

This place is DELICIOUS. I have been searching for a good Mexican restaurant around Dayton, and this is it. I have a taco truck up in Columbus that I’m addicted to… El Tacoriendo… but clearly I can’t make that drive every other day! Just kidding. But I wish I could eat these tacos every other day. It’s certainly closer. 5.99 for 6 mini tacos stuffed full of meat, cilantro, and onions? YES!
