Regency Beauty Institute Student Salons

I have been here as a student and as a client. My experience as a student was pretty good. I can think of an instructor or two that I wasn’t too happy with but overall, I would go back anyday. As a client, I have never had a bad experience. I have always been happy with my results. Yes there may be instances where it may not be exactly what you want, but then again it is a learning environment.

Absolutely horrible. I went in for a root touch up for my blonde highlights and my highlights were orange and chunky. The teacher approved the students work and it wasn’t until I was in lighting outside of the beauty studio that I realized how terrible it was. I went straight to a new salon and the workers there were horrified and did as much as they could to fix it but it still is non repairable.

This school is not run very well. I have been going there off and on for about 4 years. The prices are good. I have had hair services done there at least 12 times. Usually they do a decent job. I mean if I really want to get picky I can see some minor errors, but nothing major. They quote me how long it will take and half of the time I leave with wet hair, I have curly hair and love it to be straightened. Isn’t that one of the best parts of getting your hair done is getting it styled??? Even just going to get a highlight or just a dye job takes 3 or 4 hours, way too long. The educators are not always kind and need to work on their customer service. I understand this is a learning facility, but if a mistake is made or if they have to stay an extra 15 mins to dry my hair then they should. That is what the real world is going to be like. I have had two times where major mistakes have been made, one was half of my head was over highlighted and the other half hardly had any. They did fix it within a couple days, but there I wasted another day going into the Salon. This last time I visited will be my last ever. I was in to get my hair dyed all over, one color!!! The same color it was already just an all over refresh and roots. I left with brown hair that was greyish on the ends. I told them I didn’t like it. And have no idea how this happened. They said, well they guess they could fix it. WE had scheduling conflicts and I had to cancel events to go get my hair fixed. No one said sorry, they just said this is a learning facility and that I should expect this may happen. Anyways, my hair was dyed considerably darker than it was supposed to be. I ended up going back to get it «fixed» which damaged my hair some. They didn’t have time to dry it so I left with wet hair and unable to see the actual results. The results are it was dark red/​brown on top at the roots, then has a sudden, not even a fade transition into orangish, and the under hair is maroon, like pinkish. I have gone to 2 salons to get a consultation about color correction and they both say I will probably have to have to come in at least 2 times to get it corrected which is about 100 dollars a visit. I am a graduate student myself and ever since undergrad I have gone to beauty schools. Regency is not the one to go to. The prices may be good, but the extra time and the damage to my hair is not worth it. That along with their customer service I will not be back. Thanks for reading.

I’ve been coming here for over a year and always had a great visit at a great price. The staff keeps a close watch on how the students are handle each client and all color and cuts have to be approved. I’ve always been pleased with my hair when I left.
