I went through a government move, and this was the company hired by the movers to repair the moving damage. These guys know what they are doing, but they didn’t pay attention to detail and seemed to be in a rush to finish the work. This resulted in them having to redo pieces and make return visits. On most occasions they didn’t ask me to look over the pieces to make sure the work was acceptable before leaving. The person they sent on the initial repair visit sighed whenever asked to a question or was asked to go over something he overlooked a second time.(He also spent about half of his time hacking and in a coughing fit over the fumes from the materials he used to repair the furniture.) The packers turned a 100 pound color laser fax machine on top of a file cabinet without picking it up. It was gouged so badly that I thought it would be totally written off, and I would have to buy a new one. Except for one, the gouges were filled in well and were unnoticeable. The refinish put on the file cabinet was uneven. A return visit was required to strip and refinish it. There were problems with other pieces too. I was offered cash in lieu to redoing the repairs on some items, which left me a little disturbed. I want my furniture fixed; why would I want cash? Upon the return visit, most things were corrected. There were still some things they overlooked(even though I pointed them out including during the prior return visit). I used a furniture touch-up pen on some of spots until I subsequently discovered more damage that couldn’t be corrected with a touch-up pen. Once again, I had to schedule a return visit, which at this point they couldn’t do for another 2 ½ weeks. Keep in mind that every time they have to come for a visit, I have to use vacation time and take off work. I’m really not happy about that. I really wanted to give these guys a good review. On a positive note, they did go above and beyond in other ways by helping me move a bedroom set that I decided I wanted in the upstairs bedroom rather than the downstairs bedroom(however, still one or two of the guys that delivered the furniture, despite receiving an excellent tip, obviously were visibly displeased with the lead repair person saying they would do it). They also fixed some minor damage to a leather recliner for me that the moving company denied reimbursement. However, there’s no excuse for having to make several return visits to do rework especially given how much money they made on this job.
