I am not much of a pie person but I have loved Mehaffie’s since I was a kid! The Dutch Apple is my favorite. They also have cinnamon rolls that are just like the kind my Nana made.

Mehaffie’s has a wide variety of classically delicious pies. My favorites are the fresh strawberry pie and the sugar cream pie. The crust is perfect and the fillings are what you’d expect your grandma to make. My only issue with this establishment is their customer service. I have only purchased the pies from the store on Linden Ave, and some days the person working is happy and has great suggestions on what to buy that day, they happily punch your Mehaffie’s card, and send you on your way! Other days it’s someone who can barely stand to talk to you while you ring out, and looks at you like you’re an idiot for wanting a receipt for your credit card purchase. If the customer service was more consistent I’d give them a higher rating. Overall the pies are amazing, but don’t expect consistently good customer service!

Amazing desserts, definitely the best pies around! They also have very friendly customer service and always go the extra mile! I always buy at least one bag of snails when I go; they’re amazing!

A friend of mine sold me two pies through the Pie Peddler fundraiser — one peach and one cherry. The peach pie was so yummy and didn’t have a heavy syrup with it. The crust was even better than any other I’ve tasted. Most of the time I have to force myself to eat the crust. The cherry was tasty, as well, and not as tart as they often are. We have to go to this place to discover the rest of their treats! :P

Suffering from serious pie carving and having no desire to bake/wash dishes, I came here with my husband to get one of those supposedly amazing strawberry pies. Maybe I was just expecting too much, but this strawberry pie was just not as amazing as I thought it would be. It was good, but there were some serious flaws. The crust was so thick and doughy, definitely not my cup of tea. And the strawberry glaze was more of a red-colored sugar glaze– would have liked more strawberry flavor to it. The strawberries themselves were the best part– the only really amazing part. These things were HUGE! Strawberries the size of a child’s fist, holy cr-p! Very good choices of strawberries! Though I will not be getting strawberry pie here again, I am interesting in trying some of their other pies(maybe an apple or a cream pie).

Pies! Pies! Makes me cry, cry, cry! I have tried their pies three times. The 1st time was a peanut butter pie with a whipped cream topping. It was quite tasty and would have earned more stars. The second and third time tries did not make it. I ordered another peanut butter pie, but instead of the whipped cream on top it was meringue. The Kroger brand had more taste. As for the chocolate, apple and blueberry pies… it just did not live up to the hype. I love desserts and wish once again this was a winner!

This place has fantastic pie! It is my go to place during the holidays when I am forced to bring a dish for the numerous potlucks at work. Their coconut cream pie is delicious! They also have a great fundraising program. If you want to set up a fundraiser and don’t want to deal with Krispy Kreme, the pie peddler fundraiser is a much more interesting alternative.

I have had the pies here and they are very good. Today I stopped in search of something for dessert. Too many choices! Besides the many pies, they had cake, cheesecake and pumpkin roll. I am a sucker for pumpkin roll, so that was an easy choice. Also grabbed a piece of pineapple upside down cake for the hubby, as it is his fave kind of cake. Try Mehaffies if you are feeling some dessert and enjoy!

I love Desserts! That said, Mehaffie’s is a good opportunity to try delicious desserts at a price that is kind to the pocketbook(Most pies are $ 8.00). Their crème pies are tasty; try the chocolate-peanut butter or chocolate pie for a decadent date with naughty, haughty pastry pie. If you enjoy fruit pie, then the apple pie is extra ambrosial with vanilla ice cream and a dollop of whipped cream. Their cheesecake is creamy and enjoyable, and I usually get a side container of blueberries. I like adding spoonfuls of warm fruit over each cheesy slice of cake. The cheesecakes are about $ 10.00, and the extra blueberries are approximately $ 2.00 for a medium container. Mehaffie’s has a large variety of pies to select from, so I have yet to try all of their delicious delights. With each visit I take to their store, I edge closer to purchasing a rhubarb pie. If you have tried their rhubarb or raspberry pie, send me a note and let me know about your experience. I can go to many different places for a pastry, but Mehaffie’s Pies offers a wonderful selection of desserts; and they further offer outstanding customer service. I have first hand experience with their«above and beyond» approach to keeping their customers happy. They value whether the customer is actually happy with the pie purchasing experience, and this speaks volumes about their service. The store promotes fund raising efforts, so consider getting some pies from Mehaffie’s for your next fund raising event. With the quality products of Mehaffie’s Pies, it is comforting to know they are in the neighborhood keeping people happy with affordable and scrumptious pastry pie.

I’ve only bought pies at Mehaffie’s on holidays when my own pies didn’t turn out, and they did save the day. First, because they are open around the holidays, like on Christmas Eve, and because their pies are good. I’ve had their pumpkin, sugar cream, and custard pies. They were all good(obviously better than I could make) but I wouldn’t say they were great — my mom’s pies are better(I may be a bit biased). The people working are always friendly, and even though the lines may be out the door, they always seem to move pretty quickly.
