Little York Tavern & Pizza

People have given mediocre ratings though this is a bar people! The pizza is great as well! If you like thin crust mid-​western pizza this is a must. Great live music when we were there to boot.

Day-​cation is Dayton with the boyfriend, came here because we were starving and it was close by our hotel. The place was super busy, we dined in the bar section and it was a little weird because you wouldn’t expect to be surrounded by children at a bar. It felt a little like chuckle cheese. Elderly and screaming children, we were absolutely the only ones there in our early 20s. So if you’re looking for a hip place this isn’t for you. That being said, the wings were AMAZING and I eat a lot of wings! We garlic Parmesan which were so good and in a wet sauce, the hot wings were unexpectedly dry seasoned, but it was a good surprise they were also great. We also got the beer battered fish (not the best I’ve had but totally worth the price) and the fries are above average, pretty tasty. My margarita was pleasing as well, could actually taste the alcohol. Overall we really enjoyed our little date we had there, not the most romantic atmosphere, some of the signage upon the walls was a bit corny and desperate at times, but this is quite standard of taverns.

I had the worst pizza I have ever had in my life last night. And I’ve had a lot of pizza. It’s even worse than my homemade pizza, that’s bad. I got the Hawaiian pizza. The ham was just slices of deli ham, the pineapple was straight out of a can. Undercooked and the cheese was gross. My boyfriend had a sub that was just subpar (pun intended). The band was not bad and the server was friendly. Won’t be coming back.

The best wings and pizza in North Dayton. They are famous for their pizza but their wings are underrated since they are better than any other local «Wing» joint.

Not sure what is appealing about this place. It is dirty and it smells nasty. It needs to be remodeled or at least thoroughly cleaned.
We had lunch here on our way home to Cincinnati and it was a mistake. While our server was friendly enough the food was just ok plus it took 30 minutes to get served and they were not busy. I would never come back to this place again and would recommend that others avoid as well.

Stopped in for pizza and a beer in the early afternoon – don’t judge me! LOL Had a Yeungling tall for $ 2.25 and a 9″ sausage & mushroom pizza. There were of couple of larger groups having lunch, several retired-​type, single men at the bar, and several couples in the bar area — most looked like people who worked in the area and others were regulars. I sat at the bar, The bartender and the waitress were quite friendly. The pizza was surprisingly good and better than a lot of places around Dayton. I was told that they cook it in a pizza oven, as opposed to a pizza conveyor belt. They put a good amount of toppings, not chintzy, and there was enough cheese to get that oooey-​gooey cheese pull when you pick up a piece. The thin crust is house made (they do sell it though not on the menu) and came out nice & crispy. Using a pizza oven allows them to turn the pizza every few minutes to get the crispy crust. Not bad. I prefer it to be spicier so I added crushed red pepper, which is readily available at the counter. The menu selection was pretty good for a tavern. That was my first visit and it was clear that they have a following as regulars were called by name. I could see it being a regular place to hang out. It is not fancy nor huge, but more like a local tavern. There is also a game room. It is located right off of Hwy 75; you can easily see their sign from the highway. I’d visit again.

Little York Tavern is my favorite spot to go to for wings and pizza in North Dayton. I know it is a popular place for travelers who are staying at nearby hotels but it is also a favorite for local regulars. Their pizza is handmade and is top notch and they’ve also got a great trivia on Thursday night!

Wings and pizza are very good, but this place reeks of and old musk, moldy, smokey smell. They have live performances which makes it a bit entertaining but someone needs to go disinfect the entire place or do a complete makeover

The food is so tasty and the prices are amazing! Five dollars for a pitcher of Coors light can’t be beat. I highly recommend the parmesan wings! All the wings are hearty and saucy. The pizza is good as well. Their daily specials are unbeatable. It was 75 cent hot dogs when we came. There wasn’t any food we didn’t like. Although the fried mushrooms would’ve went well with horseradish sauce, they didn’t have horseradish. We were a bit nervous when we came in that it might be too much of a dive. We were pleasantly surprised and we will be coming back.

This place rocks. Not sure what all these other reviews are talking about. It’s got music, food, personable service, and a good crowd! Apparently no one in that crowd uses Unilocal and they are lacking on the tech/​marketing side. Prices are reasonable and sports are on every wall. It’s not the classiest place, but if you want to grab a pitcher and shoot a game of pool while watching the game with the squad or your lady friend. Don’t look further.

The food is ok, but the service was really slow at first. We sat there for about 15 minutes before deciding to get up and ring the carry out bell to get a server’s attention. After that, it was fine. We got a chicken/​mushroom pizza and a kid’s sausage and green pepper pizza. It wasn’t fantastic food, just average white-​box pizza food. But, it came out fast and came out hot.
We may not go back again for a long time, but it wasn’t awful.

Our large group, in town for Hamvention, has our last group meal, here, each year.
We run the wait staff in circles, as they load appetizers, and armloads of that saltine cracker sized slices of pizza in front of us.
Service, food and atmosphere here was excellent.
We’ll be back next year. Count on it.

Ok went here with sum friends and my girl… pizza was good then we got our Bill… the double charged us for to shots when we asked they said well you ordered a special shot with 2 kinds of liquor in it and we dont have a button for it… so…that’s are prob… why should i pay double the price for a shot that took two. liquors in it cause you dont have a button to properly charge me… the waitress rolled her eyes and walked off and would not return really i had to go to the bar just to pay so i could leave i wont be back

Okay. I believed that there was no such thing as a bad burger. I was proven wrong. I ordered from York Tavern a few weeks ago, around the 3^rd or 4^th of this month. I ordered two burgers, with cheddar cheese, and fries. The delivery time and fee was typical of a restaurant. The only thing that wasn’t was the burgers. I cannot even describe the taste except to say «disgusting». I have NEVER said that about any restaurant entrée I have ever eaten. The patties were thick, but didn’t taste like anything. Perhaps it was the complete lack of seasoning. I requested «deluxe», and received a HUGE amount of lettuce, tomato and onion, but barely any condiments. I will never, ever order here again.

30 other places nearby… I won’t be back.

This place is complete trash. The set up where the bar is completely blocks the flow of traffic going in and out of the place. I’m pretty sure the kitchen staff could be on some sort of work release program through Montgomery county. Whoever owns this place needs slapped in the head by Jon Taffer because it has so much potential to be a bigger cash crop then it is. So if you like burnt pizza and crap service come here and watch the traffic from I-​75 you won’t be let down.

Great dive bar. Good offerings for what it is. This place has so much more potential. The food is middle of the road. Sometimes great, sometimes not. ;-(. But with one of the best outdoor patios north of town (Dayton) it can’t be beat for a after work happy hour. Or family function :-). Music is offered on weekends. Over all score Bar, drinks –6 out of 10. Patio experience 9. Inside bar 5, inside bar dining (sports bar atmosphere) 8. Inside dining room. 3. No fun;-(. Check it out ., see what you think!??

Had lunch here for the first time this week and was pleasantly surprised.
The restaurant was clean and seemed to be well taken care of.
Our server was a little flakey, but tried hard. She did get our order right and kept up pretty well on checking back and getting refills.
The food was good. I had a ham sub, fries, and a bowl of chilli. Chilli was warm on a cold day and had good flavor. I’m going to try the «hot» version next time. The ham sub was good too. Nicely toasted bun, decent amount of meat. Fries were good but tasted like they had come out of a bag.
I need to try their wings and burger sometime to see if they deserve an update.
