Love Jacob Myer’s! This place is always packed which says a lot. I prefer the sandwich menu over the dinner menu, but both are really yummy! Of this is your first trip go for the sandwiches. You won’t be sorry. Really anything from the Leslie(my fave), M’Sha, Club, or Chicken sandwich, you won’t be disappointed. Their burgers are massive as are their entrée serving sizes. Don’t skip the dessert case when you first walk in! I haven’t met anything in there I don’t like.

I’m from Atlanta and this is hands down my Favorite restaurant in the Chattanooga/Dayton/Cleveland area!!! Everything made fresh, always hard for me to decide. Chicken strips hand breaded, house made salad dressings, large portions. Always a lovely place but I’ve never had to wait for a table. Go, You won’t regret it… Believe me, ok

They have the best blackened chickened Alfredo. We get baked potatoes as our side & they are good too. Their homemade desserts are very good as well!

I have mixed emotions about this place. I love a few dishes, but many side dishes taste frozen or canned. I love the salmon with mashed potatoes! Also good: the catfish, chicken salad sandwich, and chicken tenders. The burgers are probably from frozen patties. The dessert cheesecakes are from the Cheesecake Factory, but since they upped the price to $ 6, it’s not as appealing. The location is great! In the spring and summer, be sure to sit on the porch.

There is a reason Jacob Myers has been in Dayton for what seems like forever. Awesome food and an amazing dessert selection!!! Love this place!

Filet Mignon is awesome. Some of the servers get when you are low on beer or your beverage they either ask or just bring another! It isn’t difficult you just have to be aware. Thank you to some that are aware. Please let the adults be in the bar/lounge and keep kids on family side?

Great great place. A lot of food to choose from and I eat there at least 3 times a month and I have NEVER had a bad meal. Clean good food and top notch service.

The atmosphere is casual and friendly. They have a variety of food that makes for a pleasant visit. I love their hamburgers but are not really thrilled about the fish and chips. I find the fish batter is fried to a very hard outside with holds the grease and is not really that tastey. But I will say that when I want to give myself a treat, I head to Jacob Myer’s.

Sandwiches were very fresh and tasty. Service excellent, lovely view of the river. We had a very pleasant lunch. Chicken salad sandwich on very fresh bread and excellent potato salad as a side.

Really good place. I’m totally stuck on their Ruben. If you order it, be prepared for an intense experience. Served hot with Crunchy Kraut, tangy dressing and salty corned beef on a powerful marbled rye bread, this is not a sandwich for the meek!

I’ve been three times now. Just recently moved to the area. Food is good but nothing special. Had excellent service each time so more than likely I’ll be back. Not a whole lot in Dayton and probably the«nicest» place in town, worth the try if you’re visiting or passing through.

My family came to Jacob Myers for a wedding the next day. The quality of the food and service does not match the goofy atmosphere. I’ll start with the food: buffalo shrimp were amazing… we ordered an extra order, fried green bean fries were above average, steaks were very good one came out under cooked, cream of mushroom chicken was great, we sampled 3 cakes and all were a hit at our table. Food= 5* and very impressive for Dayton. The service was also superb. One waiter had our 12 top table and everything was on time even though we weren’t. He also made great recommendations and apologized for undercooked steaks. Service=5*. The atmosphere was odd to me. A nice restaurant on the river should not have neon shirts hanging, staff in jerseys and old time movies playing on a big screen. Overall a great experience!

Over priced, and the food isn’t great; it’s pretty average fare. Great atmosphere, though.

I came across this place while in town on business. We went for lunch. The service was great and very attentive. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich. It was pretty typical, but with a very large portion for chicken. The river was beautiful. I would definitely go back.

I’m currently sitting at the bar waiting on my to-go order. This is my second time at this restaurant and both times have been less than stellar. The food is pretty good but the service is absolutely pitiful. I’ve been sitting at the bar for 14 minutes now and have not been asked if I’d like a drink or a water while I wait. I have counted 9 staff members literally frolicking about, running through the restaurant, speaking with inappropriate language around the guests and just over being immature. Two servers argued in front of me about my order. I will not come here again. This place is probably okay for locals in a small town who have nothing better but I would not recommend it to anyone who is passing through. Go to mcdonalds instead, at least then you expect mediocre food and poor service and it won’t cost you much. Food just came and my order was wrong… And still no drink.

I discovered this place by searching Google for a place to meet some family for a meal in Dayton. We weren’t sure what to expect but it was fantastic, so we’ve been back a couple times since! Quite a while ago this place changed it’s name from Jacob Myers Deli to Jacob Myers Restaurant on the River. While they still have the sandwiches everyone raves about, they have a full menu now including steaks, burgers and seafood! Everyone that I’ve brought here has raved about the food. I haven’t had a bad dish yet! My favorite meal by far is the Black and Blue Steak. It’s an 8 oz sirloin with cajun seasoning and served with their black and blue sauce on top. This is so good, I could eat just that and die happy. The steak is a great cut of meat, always cooked exactly how I ask for it, and it tastes oh so good. My mouth is watering right now just thinking about it. It comes with two sides and a dinner roll and if you eat all that, you will be full! If you like seafood, I’ve really enjoyed the fish and chips. It’s very light and crisp. You can’t go wrong there. My favorite appetizer is the fried green beans. It comes with their«Boom Boom» sauce, which has a little kick to it. The green beans are battered whole, so they look like french fries. We tried to convince The fiancée’s son that they were french fries… but he didn’t buy it. We did, however, manage to get him to eat one or two. That’s a major feat to get this one to even touch a vegetable! The restaurant is built on a hill, so if you have trouble climbing the hill, get someone to drop you off at the front door. Parking is at a premium near the door. Your best bet is to park in the dirt area at the bottom of the hill. You are overlooking a river here too, so get a table by the window so you can see! This place is always busy, busy, busy! But even though they are super busy the servers are always friendly and helpful with menu questions. They keep your meal well placed and your drinks full, and they do it all with a smile. I have no complaints about the service at all. Being that it’s busy, it’s also very loud inside. Not much of the noise is restaurant noise, but people talking. I don’t know if the place echos or if people just feel the need to talk loud here, but be aware of that. No quiet romantic meals here! I haven’t had any of the desserts here, but they have a display case by the hostess stand and they all look so good. I’m just always too full to even think about dessert! Jacob Myers Restaurant is worth the drive from both Chattanooga or Knoxville. You won’t be sorry you came here.

Last week I was in town and again dined at the local Jacob Meyer’s restaurant. I look forward to eating there. The service is always delightful and the food is extremely tasty, everything, so far, has been great. Last week, I had the piled high chicken and it hit the spot. This was after I accidentally ordered the wrong chicken dish(oops). I meant to order the sandwich my husband had last time, but glad I ordered something equally as good. The fried green bean app was the tastiest I have ever had. My friends/family dine here often and are lucky to have such a good spot near their home. Also, prices are quite reasonable. Also, although the name«deli» is in the name, this is definitely not a typical deli, but rather a sit down, casual restaurant. Not sure what is meant by deli, but oh well.

Happened upon this place thanks to a Google search for lunch spots and I’m glad we did. It’s a great, quaint hometown establishment with great service and delicious food. Between my party of four, we tried the M’sha, Reuben and French Dip sandwiches and all were given great reviews, as were the onion rings and the potato soup. The only thing we weren’t too pleased with was the spinach tortellini soup — if an overwhelming flavor of oregano is your thing, you might enjoy it. Overall, it was a great experience(our server in the bar area was very attentive) and an extremely reasonably priced one. I would definitely recommend it if in the area.
