We recently moved out of Dovetree Apartments, after living there for three years. Overall, we had a really positive experience. Management was very on top of maintenance issues – whenever we had a complaint(our refrigerator and dishwasher each broke once), it was addressed within 24 hours. Regular maintenance on the air filters, fire extinguishers, etc was performed, and communicated to the tenants ahead of time. The heat and AC worked well and efficiently, and the apartment had good water pressure. For the price, I think that these apartments are a good value. The negatives of our time were more with neighbors, than with management. There are many, many smokers. As non-smokers, it was obnoxious to not be able to keep our windows open all of the time during the warmer months, and sometimes we felt like we couldn’t use our balcony. I think that is pretty typical of apartment living in Dayton, though. There are SO many geese on the property, and they leave turds everywhere. Not much management can do about that. We originally picked Dovetree because of the location, and it remained our favorite feature. It’s an easy drive to 725 and I75, and you can walk to Kroger, CVS, and a few restaurants(highly recommend Chappys on Alex-Bell). We moved out because we bought a house; otherwise, we would have stayed there longer.
