Big Boy Restaurants

I absolutely love this Big Boy. You know what to expect with the food, which is above par diner status. What I love the most is the staff. I’ve been here multiple times and every time is delightful. In comparison to other BBs, they’re always on top of the salad bar and have a nice selection of soups. Thanks!

I think I have been to Big Boy maybe 5 times in my life. It’s just not my go to restaurant when I’m hungry. This time all of my co-​workers wanted this for some reason and I was sent to pick up our order. I decided to order in person, just to make sure nothing got f’ed up. 10 people were depending on me to make sure their order would be correct. The staff went over and above the call of duty. They packaged each order in their own individual bag with condiments and utensils. Everything was perfect and I forgot how good a Slim Jim was… way to go Big Boy!

A group of six of us arrived at about 9pm. The broccoli soup was way watered down and the cabbage soup was gone. The waiter kyle was nice enough but said they were out of the cabbage soup and it wouldn’t be refilled. The manager robbie refused to do any more than offering to maybe give me a free bowl of cabbage soup in the future. After I filmed the soups they replaced the broccoli soup. Go anywhere but here.

So I came here craving hearty breakfast food after being starved all morning from being at my doctor’s appointment that I came in from out of town to get to. I walked in and the hostess who turned out to be my waitress was SOOOO happy to see me. It was a little weird, but then again I grew up where people don’t necessarily have that hometown vibe of a community like I guess they do here. I was impressed that me as an obvious outsider she was super nice.
I ordered the pick five and it came really fast. It wasn’t hot, more like slightly lukewarm, and the eggs tasted like fake butter (a HUGE peeve of mine). I didn’t bother to send it back because I just didn’t feel like it and was super hungry. The coffee was good and hot.
All around I would come here after an all nighter or a quick bite, but probably won’t be back for the food, just the atmosphere. So 1 point for fast service, 1 for being conveniently located and another for the staff and my waitress, she was very nice and efficient (her name was Hannah).

Hadn’t been to a Big Boy in years. Seen it and started craving a classic. They seem to have one of the most friendly staffs I have come across in a long time.

near the corner of State and Lapeer, off the expressway (i-​69).
food quality leaves you desiring much, prices higher.
with the exception of sunday, it’s not usually very busy.
