Temple Coffee is really delicious. I’ve been there 4 or 5 times now and the drinks and service are consistently excellent. During the school year, it can get pretty crowded but even on a busy day, the restroom is clean and stocked. There is outdoor and indoor seating. I’m so partial to the Mexican Mocha that I get it every single time.

I really, really like Temple’s mochas and iced tea selection, so you can bet your buns I’ll be checking them out if there is a location near me. I recently joined in on a casual lunch meeting at the Temple Coffee in Davis and was less impressed than I have been with its sister locations in Sacramento. For starters, it was incredibly crowded. This was mid morning on a Friday and I have been to every Temple multiple times, so I have a good idea of their usual rush times. This location was more crowded than most, but perhaps it was due to the graduation celebrations all over town. I didn’t like the layout as much either — not as many private places to sit and work on your laptop and more long narrow tables. Putting aside the aesthetics, the drinks were just as tasty as usual and the dude at the register very friendly. A final warning that I include with all Temple Coffee reviews: parking sucks. All Temple locations are unfortunately in dense urban areas where it’s very hard to find a spot, and none more so than Davis. Hoof it or ride a bike if you can.

The wait can be long, but the service and coffee are worth it. I came in here a skeptic based on some of the reviews. I enjoy a good cup of coffee and have high standards. I tried a sample of the drip and didn’t like it. The barista asked for feedback and then recommended a French Press Dharma Espresso Blend. He nailed it — best cup of coffee I’ve had in Davis!

Was here in the evening and ordered the Mexican Mocha decaf and it was pretty good. Lots of UC Davis students were here studying and it was quite with minimal chatter. Pro: I gave it a 4 star review because I enjoyed the interior of the coffee shop but the coffee was just good. Would definitely come back here again.

Modern, cozy, filled with students on their laptops with no room to sit down., That should give you a sign why this place is so popular, in a college town where there is great coffee, you will see this scene. The latte I had was fabulous, the Gluten Free Lavender muffin was unusual but tasty, must admit I am not sure if they make the baked goods here or not.

Temple coffee quality is typically top notch. I found the pour over ethiopian to be weak even for a medium roast. Not sure the automatic pour over technique is up to Temple standards. Nice layout but a bit cramped. Service was on the slow side but very cordial and professional. They brought the drink out. Presentation of the pour over was fun, used a glass carafe/pot for overflow from the in house coffee cup. Will return to confirm this review.

Temple gives a sensory experience, it’s the full package. Aside from their delicious tea(since I haven’t tried their coffee), their interior design is beautiful and very relaxing, it’s really meant for a place to leisurely drink coffee/tea, definitely recommend for here to get the whole experience by coffee tasting within the surrounding atmosphere. I tried Coconut and mint tea, came with a teacup set, pour it yourself hands on experience. It was so delicious, the foam and the warm temperature compliments each other, and the creamy and minty flavor was very soothing and a unique taste in tea. I do miss it afterward. Price is a bit expensive, $ 5 for what I had. Real plants on display on tables, several pleasant sites of extravagant glass displays and coffeemakers, every detail from their cup designs, teacup set, wooden chairs, really says a lot about their coffee, it’s like coffee’s environment in its most profound state.

Came here at 12 in the afternoon on a weekday and there was plenty of space to sit. The location is about a 10 – 15 minute walk from the Memorial Union of the UC Davis campus and mostly inhabited by UCD students. The ambiance of the place is chill and laid back. With the little green succulents and the wooden complements within the interior design, it’s the perfect place for coffee and that hipster Instagram post(haha). Ordered a latte(cause the barista said it’s their most popular drink) and a chocolate croissant. Both came out to be ~$ 7. Great pricing! You can tell they put a lot of effort and craft behind their coffee. LATTE — Large portion size and very light. Would definitely order again! CHOCOLATECROISSANT — This literally felt like a fluffy chocolate cloud in my mouth. So good! It does suck that there are no outlets here but with a fully charged laptop and the free WiFi offered, I have no complaints! Service is 10⁄10 as well.

While they’re very transparent about their prices being higher to pay a living wage, the coffee and drinks aren’t really worth it if you’re not staying for the ambiance and/or study space. The bf got a special Panama roast that we waited extra long for to be individually brewed and it tasted watered down to the point of almost flavor-less. The study space is limited and not super convenient though. It is very open so don’t expect any level of privacy(but why would you at a coffee shop? I’m just saying you’re especially vulnerable to creepers) The outdoor seating is comfortable and shady for group meetings but the tables small so keep it under 5. PROS: great ambiance, soothing and open space, super friendly staff, nice bathrooms(THISMATTERS!) ok coffee CONS: Ok coffee

I am meeting my daughter for lunch on a Friday at one. It is 12:30 and I am backed up onto the freeway waiting to make my way off the Richard’s Boulevard exit, under the railroad tracks and onto E Street. Ten minutes later, I have finally made it to the other side of the tracks and turn onto 1st Street which curves and turns into G Street. Traffic is still heavy and I have not seen any open parking spaces. I see a parking lot on my right and turn into it. I don’t find any parking and eventually exit onto H Street where I am stopped behind a line of cars waiting for the train to pass. 12:55, I am finally able to turn left onto Third Street and immediately see a parking place. I am not sure if it is an apparition. Maybe there is something wrong with it? A nice, big, beautiful parking place! I am only a half block from my destination. I quickly walk the half block to ZumaPoke and Lush Ice and; closed? It is closed. I just drove from Elk Grove to meet my daughter for lunch and they are closed. A few minutes later my daughter calls to tell me she missed her exit and is lost. Ok! This is going well! What to do? I decide to go next door to Temple Coffee to chill for a couple of minutes. I walk in and find a sample pot of Popua New Guinea coffee with small ceramic cups for tasting while you wait in line. No kidding; no cheap paper cups here. What a really nice added touch of class! The Popua was pretty good, actually really good, actually, good enough to order a coffee press of it. The girl behind the counter is very friendly and helpful. She even helps me carry my press, two cups so I can share it with my daughter, a cup of water, and the timer so I know when the coffee is ready. We take them outside to a nice sidewalk table under the trees. Life suddenly becomes calm. I begin to enjoy this amazing press of coffee and before long my daughter joins me and we relax while finishing off the press and making a new plan. Life is good! I love this place. It has become my favorite Temple Coffee.

One great cup of coffee! Didn’t really try annoying else so unfortunately this welkin be a short review. Got the Americano. I was filmed with confusion because I’m used to a huge one from Starbucks. But this smaller portion was worth it. The flavor was strong and the taste was too. I added two packets of splenda because I was nervous I wouldn’t be able to handle the raw flavor of this cup of coffee. Taste was good but I will have to come back so I can try it out without any added sugar or anything else.

During my weekend in Davis, I found myself back at temple twice because I couldn’t get enough. It’s on the bigger side for a coffee shop, but it feels incredibly tiny because it’s always packed. It’s well lit which gives it a nicer atmosphere. They have a wide selection of coffees and some interesting pastries, but what hooked me was their tea drinks. They have a list of teas, but they have 2 special tea lattes. The«Enlightenment» and«Bliss.» The enlightenment is jasmine green tea with honey steeped in soy milk. The Bliss is a peppermint tea, coconut milk, and honey in soy milk. I’ve had other tea lattes before at other places, but this place differs in the way they have a «for here» option where you can pour your soy milk & tea mixture out of a tea pot, which is pretty unique. I’ve also never had a peppermint tea, so I was afraid the peppermint would be too overpowering, but it wasn’t. It was a perfect blend of tea, soy milk, and light peppermint flavor. Both the Enlightenment and Bliss are delicious, so you can’t go wrong with either if you’re trying to opt for something different from coffee.

Good coffee. The baristas are very friendly and knowledgeable. Ordered a pour over and I believe mine was the Brazilian one? as recommended by the barista and it was really good! It was almost $ 6, which may seem pricey for coffee, but I have no idea how to make a good pour over so I think it’s worth it. Also they give you a good amount because it took me a while to finish my coffee. They also have free samples of coffee available while you wait in line. It’s pretty crowded inside with long lines, but if you’re lucky enough to find a spot(or one by the outlets) then it becomes a pretty good place to study! Also the bathrooms are pretty clean!

Looking for a place to study for a little bit or to meet up with someone in Davis? Go to Temple! Conveniently located in Downtown Davis, this Temple Coffee Roasters location is modern, elegant, clean, and spacious. The shop does get crowded really fast so I recommend coming in early! The only thing that bothers me here is that they don’t offer a regular Mocha drink. You have to specifically ask that you want a Mocha(Mexican Mocha on their menu) with no cinnamon! Don’t get me wrong, their Mexican Mocha is not bad(it’s actually pretty good), but sometimes, I just want to drink and taste the espresso shot and the chocolate milk and nothing else… My alternative to none-mocha days is the Gibraltar(aka a Cortado). Usually served in Libbey Glassware or a small glass cup, it’s probably my favorite beverage here at Temple. Great customer service. The staff is friendly, helpful, and patient. If not too crowded, they will also try to make small talk with you. Moreover, beverages are a little on the pricier side compared to Starbucks/Peet’s but you do get some high quality coffee. No outlets for computers(or I haven’t seen one yet) so don’t expect to study there all day and the seats are not the most comfortable for resting on your butt for hours on end. But if you need Free Wi-Fi, they have it! Overall, a great place with a nice atmosphere and some good caffeinated beverages. That community table in the center is also a nice touch.

Temple is cool but just okay to me. I see the hype and it makes sense but as a college student, I wouldn’t find myself coming here to study. I came to grab some coffee before catching a movie down the street. On a Saturday at 6pm this place was pretty packed and it was hard to find a seat. Speaking of seats, they were so uncomfortable. They didn’t have a back to it, it’s just a stool. There’s no way someone can comfortably study here for more than an hour. Also just looking around I didn’t see that many outlets. These are things I would look for when looking for a place to study and Temple is lacking. Regardless, Temple is the new«hip» place to come and get coffee, chat for a bit, and then leave. Which is what I imagine myself doing the next time I visit. The Mexican mocha was good and I recommend it. The price was fair. Their large size was $ 4.80. The size was similar to a Starbucks grande and their fancy drinks are usually $ 5 and some change. Would I come back? Sure.

I’m here for the third time on a Saturday morning around 9 a.m. I thought this would be a great place to stop for coffee before I pick up my friend in Davis and we head to San Francisco for the day. The aesthetics of this Temple location are very pleasing to the eye. There is a lot of seating facing the window which I really enjoy. There is also a long table in the center of the shop if you come in a group. I think this might also be a good place to hang out and meet new people too since all of the seating is connected and you will inevitably be siting at the same table/counter with a stranger. The design seems to facilitate conversation but also would allow privacy if you just want to hang out solo to people watch, stare out the window or hang out on your computer. I got a 12oz mocha which was delicious as expected. I’ll be back for sure!

Bliss tea tastes like Christmas in a cup! Peppermint and coconut milk, great combo! Fast, friendly service. Quaint décor. Good study lighting. Delightful little place, limited seating was the only reason why it’s missing a star.

As I traveled to the city of Davis, I decided to come to this finest local coffee shop at Temple Coffee Roasters. This is the first TCR located at the Yolo County for the first time due to the population of most UC Davis students and seniors too. When I entered their doors thanks to the Opening celebration party on 11/11/2015, this small place is very new and bright here filled with the finest customers and baristas. The concept is very contemporary made with the indie/hipster touch filled with natural lights, wooden furniture and mini garden plants too. There’s also a large coffee mixer machine too, so you can see how to brew their import coffee in a scientific matter. It’s a great science experience to watch. The baristas as I mentioned earlier are very friendly and approachable as I welcomed here. No cons and problems at all! As for the drinks, I received and ordered a Nitro Float which it’s made of Nitro coffee with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. So far, the Nitro Float is simply delicious. Very rich and flavorful for the Nitro as I can feel it through my tongues. Additionally, I bought their signature drink, latte for a spin, and the result: their latte is remarkably good. It balanced the latte very well and neatly, so I literally finished my drink in no time! What a great drink for a coffee break. They have pastries available at TCR in Davis, so you can order a good study snack here. Speaking of studying and reading, there’s also have a free wi-fi here which you can explore the world wide web very safe and sound in a secured matter. Parking at TCR in Davis can be challenging. You can park at the nearest surface street parking if it’s available. Otherwise, you can ride a bike, walk, or use public transportation easier without the hassles. In the end, Temple Coffee Roasters in Davis is the finest, and the most calmful coffee shop right in the heart of a small city. Perfect for everyday socializing and studying all day long. My rating: 4 solid stars.

Sunday morning seems to be a sleepy time around downtown Davis. My vanilla latte was tasty, but the seating was not inviting for a long stay. That worked because I went for a walk at the arboretum shortly after this visit, but if I were looking for a place to study, this place wouldn’t be my first choice. The wifi was good and free, but I’d want a more comfy place to rest my hiney for a longer stay. And I did get latte art free of charge! ;)
