I’ve had better tasting and flavorful korean food else where. I ordered the seafood sondubu and it was very tasteless wasnt spicy at all. The side dishes werent that great either. The kimichi didnt have that nice texture or flavor that I’m used too.

Came here with my sister around 6:30 and there was plenty of seating. The waitress that seated and served us was very nice and attentive. We both ordered the soft tofu soup with pork(soondubu jjigae) which came with a side of rice as well as the usual Korean side dishes(banchan). The soup is quite large and we each ended up taking half of it home. It came out still boiling with the egg already inside. We both thought it was delicious and especially like the cucumber banchan amongst all the side dishes. The waitress brought us more banchan when we ran out — yay! Overall we thought it was great and will be coming back in a week with some family.

Manna is decent but pretty overpriced Korean that is the main option in Davis for authentic KBBQ and other korean dishes. They have appetizers ranging from $ 10 – 15 and all the traditional Korean goodies such as tofu soup, rice cakes, kimchi fried rice, and also Korean BBQ dishes that they help cook for you on the stove. The tofu soup was pretty satisfying, I ordered it with pork and there were only a few pieces of pork belly though. The KBBQ here is decent but really expensive, like two pieces of galbi for $ 20 – 30 is pretty ridiculous. I would only come here for tofu soup, rick cakes, or the kimchi fried rice and even the meat combos are rather pricey. The servers are nice and the place is mostly filled with Chinese students and other Davis townies. I actually prefer the food and ambiance at Tako more– although if you’re willing to pay for more authentic Manna is where you should go.

I came in this evening with a friend, and I ordered the beef bibimbap. The beef was cooked well and the flavoring was great! Overall it was an incredible meal and I would definitely come again. The only problem I had which lead to me giving the restaurant 5 stars instead of 4 stars is that of the poor customer service. The place was virtually empty throughout our dinner; when a family across the room from us had finished their food, no waiter/waitress took the time to go clean the table until after we left. I do not enjoy staring at dirty dishes for over 20 minutes while I eat my own food. Other than that, our personal waitress took her sweet time with getting us any refreshments when we came in as well as with getting us the check. However, I would still come again since the food was so great!

I’ll always have a soft spot in my heart for Manna’s. We used to come here quite a bit during college and I still came here after I graduated. The people who work here are always kind and attentive, which makes it a welcoming atmosphere. This place actually has one of my favorite spicy pork dishes that many restaurants in California can’t match. Their short ribs or actual BBQ grill options are also great choices, but I can’t get enough of their spicy pork.

The service is Meh. The food is Meh. The ambiance is Meh. So yea. 3-stars is about right. I’ve been here a couple times but only because its one of the few Korean restaurants in down town Davis and I’m too lazy to drive to Sacramento. So far I’ve tried the BBQ which is small portions, expensive, but tastes fine. Bimbimbap which is good and they do have the stone pot but nothing extra special. Spicy tofu(sundubu) which was completely tasteless. Just tasted like spice, nothing else. The seafood was overcooked and not flavorful. It was pretty awful tofu. They do give you side dishes which is great :] And you can definitely dress down going here. I went last night and majority of us were wearing sweatpants

I honestly can’t get enough of this place. Their bibimbap is so good and I’m not usually a fan of vegetables! There are so many ways you could go about your meal and I always come here for comfort food whenever I’m having a bad day or I just want to eat some quality good food with friends. I’ve eaten the Korean BBQ4 times here and even I’d say it was really good, I just know I’ve gotten KBBQ in other locations for a cheaper price with better quality but I understand that in the business it’s the only KBBQ actually in Davis so you pay for convenience as well as the meat. I just wish there was more meat per serving so that I feel like I get my money’s worth. Since I don’t eat KBBQ every time I go I always get bibimbap with jajameyon and a side of kimchi jigae and for me it’s always the perfect combination! The sides of fish cakes, seaweed, and potatoes always compliment the dish really well too so I always end up asking for more. I’m not Korean but I feel like I’m in Korea whenever I eat there because of the atmosphere and the hospitality!

Pros: food! Cons: closed from 2pm-5pm daily I love their pork bokkum and kimchi jigae! The bokkum is juicy, flavorful and has just the right amount of spiciness! The kimchi jigae is probably the best I’ve ever had; it’s extremely hearty and flavorful, and goes perfect with rice. This is how kimchi jigae is supposed to taste like! The only downside is that it is located in Davis(kind of far from Sac, depending on where you live) and they close daily from 2pm to 5pm which is extremely inconvenient. They re-open again afterward so I recommend that you come before 2pm or after 5pm.

First time I came here was a year ago and I didn’t have a great experience. A few days ago I decided to give it another try because me and my friend wanted Korean food but didn’t want to drive too far for it. I got the Bulgogi lunch special and my friend got the spicy rice cake. They are both very good. They didn’t give us any side dishes besides kimchi because we ordered an appetizer and lunch special. I wish we got more side dishes though. Overall, service was good. I would definitely come here again when I’m craving Korean food.

Well I had heard not so good things about Manna so I didn’t have high hopes for my experience. But I was pleasantly surprised to enjoy my meal! There were four of us and we shared 4 dishes which turned out to be just enough. We ordered the seafood pancake, which is quite large. But also very greasy– so it’s good to share. The kim chi fried rice was alright but a little on the smaller portion size. The jap chae was served piping hot but tasted great! And my favorite is that the bulgogi was served with lettuce wraps. I love when Korean restaurants offer lettuce and chili sauce for you to wrap meat in. Over all I had a good time and would return!

Manna is one of the few Korean option’s in Davis, so it’s kind of a no brainer if you’re craving some Korean food. Manna has been around for some years, and can be a decent option if Korean is what you want. Like many Korean restaurants, Manna offers up traditional dishes accompanied by sides. Tonight I ordered the spicy pork. Service was friendly and we were able to get our food without too long of a wait. The appetizers came first. If you’ve ever been to a Korean restaurant, then you’ll be familiar with getting little dishes of appetizers before the meal. In this case, we had 7 or 8 options for us to choose from. My favorites were the clear noodles, cucumbers, and kimchi. In terms of taste, all the items were serviceable, but not outstanding. For my main course I had the spicy pork(asked for medium spiciness). The pork definitely had some kick to it, but in terms of flavor, it left a little bit more to be desired. I enjoyed the food here, but I know there is better just down the freeway in Sacramento. In terms of price, Manna is a bit stepper compared to the other restaurants in the area. I would say that if you absolutely need to have Korean food in Davis… then go to Manna. If you don’t a little travel, Sacramento may be your better option.

Lets say i love trying new food and when it comes to k food i don’t play lol… in sac we have oz which is very americanized and to me its a good deal but its not authentic like these type of k resto which feel like mom and pop resto. Ok now onto my experience here. Once upon a time on a Sunday evening at 9pm we were all hungry but i was starving after the heat from picnic day in 2015. So i have been walking all over downtown trying to find a place to eat and ran into a dumpling place and guess what they didn’t want to take my order so i said ok u snooze and loose my business. Then i ran into this place by accident. We were sat down at the BBQ table which they had a total of 3 or 4 total. So the menu said minimum of 2BBQ items order. Since we just want to order cook food so we changed tables. Btw the tables aren’t really big so large parties might be a problem. Also on the menu everything was about 12 to 20 and up depends what u order. I went ahead and order their spicy cold noodle soup for 12 bucks. And a deep fried mandu which is potstickers which is dumpling for 6 pcs for 5 bucks. The food came out fast about 10 mins and i had my cold noodle soup which was still warm not really all the way cold. The noodles were buck wheat and angel hair thin. They had about 2 pc sliced beef and half a boiled egg. The noodles were kinda clump together. They were good just hard to break it apart inside the mouth. Way different than egg noodles texture like what I’m used to eating. They also had slices of pear inside the soup as well prolly to cool down the heat when it gets to spicy good. The noodle soup did get spicy towards the end and had a lot of sesame oil flavored. Overall i liked it because i was really hungry haha. The mandu was my less favorite. I think cuz its deep fried and the meat inside was pork and veggies. There were flavoring but not too heavy. They gave some dipping sauce which remind me of sweet soy sauce. I think its was okay i can pass next time. I will try the bibimbap next time when in in the mood for veggies or their spicy tofu soup since i seen lots of people ordering it on a hot evening. I was like no more sweat plz haha that’s why no hot stuff for me. My friend ordered the kimchi fried rice which was very nicely presented and had a fried egg over on top of it. The rice was moist and not dry. It was a medium spicy and had alot of kimchi which was warm not cold since its stir fry in it. I also thought it was on the saltier side since kimchi is inside. I did like it but i dont know if i just want that a main dish. My other fried also ordered the bbq chicken with steam rice. It had alot of chicken pieces in big chunks. There was also onions on the bottom of the sizzling plate as well. Overall the service was slow she left our water to last drip and then finally come over and refilled only ¾ of it lmao. Okay anyways they did come check up and was friendly and did their job. Overall we all liked our food and was all happy about it.

There isn’t a lot of Korean food in Davis so Manna is probably as good as it gets. This place is good but nothing spectacular. The best thing about this place is probably the banchan. I’ve tried the bulgogi and the bibimbap, both were good. I would only come here again if I was craving for something like spicy rice cakes. Honestly, I would likely go somewhere outside of Davis for Korean food.

Came here because another location was closed in Davis that we were going to. I would have to admit this place wasn’t as tasty as the pictures made it out to be. We ordered the seafood pancake and I had the seafood hot plate. It looked good but wasn’t. The pancake had the same seafood as my hot plate. Every piece of seafood was really small. And it was bland Service was mediocre. Bull was around 80 $ for 4 ppl. Kind of expensive for a place that serves food that isn’t too satisfying.

Mediocre Korean food. Folsom Blvd(in Sacramento) has a bunch of better tasting Korean food. It’s not a very big restaurant, but they have both Korean BBQ and regular, seated tables. I tried the seafood pancake and stone bibimbap. Seafood pancake was pretty tasty… I like that it’s really crispy(unlike some places) and the pancake itself is kind of chewy. Didn’t have too much seafood, but I enjoyed the pancake itself so it was okay. The sauce that comes with it is good! It has like a salty, slightly sweet/tangy taste to it. I was a little disappointed with the stone bibimbap because there was too much rice compared to the toppings. The toppings on top weren’t that great and did not have enough variety. The side dishes weren’t that good either. My friend really liked the seaweed and the only thing I liked was the pickled cucumber(has a little kick). Wasn’t too fond of the kimchee, potato strips, beans, and whatever else they had. I don’t remember too clearly because nothing really stood out. You pay at the cash register once you’re done. We were sitting for a few minutes before we realized that you have to go up. It seemed like they were trying to close up since they were cleaning everything and we were the only ones there, but no one asked if we were done or told us to go up.

Being the only actual Korean restaurant in town, I go here when I have my Korean cravings and no time to head to Sac. Typically I like being here for lunch since dinner can be a little crowded from time to time. Service is always pretty fast and friendly. There’s a large room in the back that’s perfect for a large event or a large group of people. They always have bbq tables along one side of the restaurant for those who are having bbq. The dishes that I’ve tried were the seafood pancake, bulgogi, tofu soup, and stone bowl bibimbap. The pancakes vary from time to time, from being crunchy to sometimes soggy, not really consistant. The bulgogi always has great flavoring but can be a bit tough on occasions. For the tofu soup, it’s alwas been consistantly delicious. My favorite is the stone bowl bibimbap, always to my liking every single time(I just have to make sure to mix everything quickly before the rice burns at the bottom). One thing I wish there was more of was the side dishes. I’d usually only get 4 items but I’m use to seeing way more at other places. Final Thoughts: Good for cravings but can be better.

If you don’t already know, I love Korean food. Since Oz came into my life, the world has been a significantly better place… But let’s talk about Manna ~ no idea it existed here in downtown Davis. I would’ve dined in sooner. Good space, and they reserve more tables farther back. They also serve table-top bbq!(cook your own food dealio that’s always a fun experience) During this visit, however, we opted for a la carte options. We had a great start with the Kimchi Pancake(sauce is very delicious), then proceeded to get their seafood tofu soup(mild) and bulgogi(beef ribeye). If you’re not familiar, Korean cuisine typically comes with banchan(side dishes). For ours, we got beansprouts, seaweed, potatoes, broccoli, fish cake, and, of course, kimchi(fermented cabbage). Not a lot of variety in comparison to other Korean restaurants I’ve been to, but still very good. Overall, a fulfilling course — hot, fresh, and flavorful always hits the spot. Korean food rarely disappoints. Manna is definitely on my good list!

Seems like Manna is one of the few Korean spots in the area so I had to stop by and fulfill my constant Korean food craving on our way home from Vacaville. The place was filled, and we came mid-afternoon on a Sunday. They have 4 tables with tabletop grills and the rest are regular tables, but my boyfriend said he spotted more tabletop grills in a back room when he went to the bathroom. They don’t have an AYCE option so the price for tabletop grilling didn’t seem worth it to us. We decided on getting a kimchi pancake, bulgogi, and seafood tofu soup. The bulgogi came with rice and side dishes as well. My favorite sides were the fish cake and the seaweed. They also had kimchi, potatoes, bean sprouts, and broccoli with gochejang. The kimchi pancake was huge, and I enjoyed the sauce that came with it. It was a little bit oily but still yummy. The bulgogi was really good especially with the caramelized onions. The service was good. It took a while for them to come take our order but they were very kind and always smiled. And the food came out relatively fast as well. Overall great visit, my stomach was extremely satisfied when we left!

Probably the best Korean restaurant Davis can offer! A little pricey, but honesty all Korean food is pricey. Service has gotten a lot better. I remember when there was only one waitress and it was very hectic for her while the owner stood behind the counter and didn’t do much. Now, they have 2 – 3 waiters and waitresses. I tend to always get soup at Korean restaurants and they have plenty to choose from! I usually just go with the Soondubu with pork($ 11.99) as my staple. Though it doesn’t come sizzling, it is still boiling hot! Sadly today, I didn’t see the egg floating at the top and did not bother to stir the soup. When I found the egg, that poor thing was hard boiled. My friend got jajangmyeon which comes with diced pork($ 9.99). It has the perfect ratio of sauce to noodles, and it comes in a pretty good size! They also always ask if you want to refill your banchan(the side dishes), so don’t worry if you want more!
