Lamppost Pizza

I’m from NYC, where Pizza rules lol! I have never been happier with a California pizza than I was with Lamppost. Highly recommend it! I always look forward to visiting our building in Davis so I can grab a slice and a root beer :)

Came in for mothers day. They messed up our Pizza which they usually always do but made a smaller new Pizza for us.
The quarter machine was out of change so I gave my daughter $ 5 to ask for change. I noticed the girl was looking really mean when she was talking to my daughter so I walked up to make sure everything was ok. I said she wasn’t being very kid friendly and she called me a –BITCH– right in front of my 6 year old.
I told the person in charge but the really didn’t do anything. Not sure what Kind of place allows their employees to talk to customers like that but they have definitely lost this customer.
My bf called the next day and the said they wrote her up but I doubt it.
We must have spent like over $ 50 or 60 on that visit and now thinking about it I don’t think that girl ever gave my daughter the $ 5 back…

This is a great pizzeria! I’d give it 5 stars but honestly it’s the most expensive pizza in town, and I’m on the fence whether it’s worth the price as the best pizza in town. It is however a great pizza, and the sides, sandwiches and atmosphere are all great. The service is a bit hit or miss. I guess it depends on who’s working. I’ve had a few poor service experiences, but usually the service is wonderful. I’d recommend any Davis resident try this place out and see for yourself. I personally am a big fan.

On every other night I’d give them 5 stars. But, not tonight. The manager working tonight refused to change the TV’s to the Warriors game even though the entire restaurant was here to watch the Warriors game! He even told a customer that was requesting the Warriors game that «this isn’t your house». It was completely unbelievable. This guy needs to get the boot. Nothing but a black eye for what’s typically a great place to eat and drink.

Davis has some really great pizza joints.
This goes up there with Woodstock’s and Blaze.
In a plaza with a parking lot and ample parking.
I love how cheesy and fresh their pizza tastes in terms of the veggies they use.
I came here for lunch hour and they had all 6 of our orders out in 10 – 15 minutes and apologized for lagging? What, that was really prompt!
I would say that price wise they are a bit more expensive than the other pizza places in the area.
$ 7.50 for a lunch special of 2 slices of pizza and a soda with unlimited refills. Very filling!

Their calzones are heaven and are most likely the reason why I will be developing heart disease when I’m older.
Huge portion, delicious stuffing. I hate taking home leftovers but I absolutely couldn’t stuff both pieces. Tip: ask for marinara sauce for dipping!

Lamppost is a great neighborhood pizza place. We’ve been going here 15 years. They are generous with the toppings. Great crust. Definitely a great pizzeria style pizza.

Food is great. The night crew is great. The mid day crew is terrible. I ordered the lunch special and after 20 mins they said they didn’t have the stuff I ordered so it’d take another 10 – 15 mins. I asked for a refund. I found out later that, that said employee called me an a**hole. Doesn’t sound like a «family friendly» restaurant. Also, my friends ordered a pitcher of beer and the cashier forgot to check everyone’s IDs so the manger came up to my friend and harassed her. It wasn’t her fault that lamppost forgot to check IDs.
My suggestion, only go at night. That’s the best time to go.

I really wanted to love this place seeing as how I live just around the corner from it. Alas, I cannot say that I do. We got a medium half Hawaiian, half veggie pizza and it came out to around $ 26! Let’s just say that the pizza that came out wasn’t worth $ 15! It was luke warm and it really wasn’t anything special. Just about the same as any old pizza joint with the premium price! I’d skip this place and try a different spot if I were you. I know I will be.

There are a lot of tables and chairs in the restaurant as well as outside of the restaurant so it’s definitely a good place if you’re looking to seat a large party. The tables and chairs in the restaurant are moveable so you can easily move them around to make a bigger table if needed.
I would recommend sharing pizzas with people because it would be expensive to get a regular pizza or even a personal pizza. I ordered chicken tenders and fries but the portion was extremely small and there were also barely any fries which was disappointing. The chicken tenders were pretty small as well. However, the service is really good because they have enough people to be running around the restaurant to see if everyone is doing okay.

Used to be alot nicer. Was just there last week and the new staff were very rude. Will not be back

I ordered a margarita pizza and it did not taste anything like the margarita pizzas I’vs had elsewhere– maybe other types of pizza are good there, but they do not make an authentic margarita.
On the plus side, the cookies were amazing and the delivery was fast.

After a day on the road, the last thing we wanted to think about was finding a restaurant. Our limited experience of Davis was that parking was neither easy nor convenient. When I read that the Lamppost delivered, I was all in. We ordered the garlic chicken pasta and the antipasto salad. The salad was plenty for two and pretty good. The pasta portion was huge and though it probably would have been better fresh in the restaurant with maybe some extra Parmesan on the side, it was ok. Excellent garlic bread and fast friendly service.

Came here with some friends randomly because we were hanging out at Mandro and suddenly I was craving pizza. I’ve heard so much about this place from other people in Davis so I was really excited to try it out!
The service was really nice! Shoutout to Jamie for being super patient with all my weird questions and requests she was so sweet! We did our own make our own pizza and they only do full pizza’s on weekends so if you’re only coming there to get a single slice make sure you come with a friend who wants to share!
It was a little pricey for pizza but the experience was great and it tasted amazing! The pesto was so good and it was my first time eating real artichokes that wasn’t in a dip lol.
I regretted not getting the garlic bread because it looked so good when I saw someone else eating it! Will definitely try to get that when I come back again. Also I loved eating outside but I’ll try to come again at night so the lights on the patio will be on because the ambiance was so nice! Definitely down to grab a pitcher of beer too. Not too crowded probably because of location but all in all it was a great first-​time experience!

This place is great! Their pizza comes out piping hot out of the oven and the ingredients are fresh. The cheese literally melts off the pizza because it’s so hot.
When I came here, I got a pesto based pizza with three toppings: artichokes, tomatoes and sausage! Lol it sounded like a really weird combination at the beginning but when it came out, it was really good! The artichokes were my favorite part of the pizza and I’m not that much of a fan of them on my pizza. They were so good to pick off of the pizza and eat them on their own. I really liked the pesto base instead of the tomato base. The pesto was not overwhelming at all and really gave the pizza some pizzaz. I mean, a 12″ pizza with three toppings for $ 18.49 I would expect an incredible pizza. It definitely didn’t disappoint, but was a little out of my college price range. Good thing I came with two other friends to split it with.
Oh and the service was really great, they were patient with my difficult friend who literally didn’t decide on the toppings until 10 minutes of standing at the counter. Shoutout to Jamie!

Best pizza in Davis!
I have never gotten a bad pizza from here when it’s been for take out or dine in. delivery well we did that once and won’t do it again pizza was mushy and cold by the time it got to us. Could have just been an off day and we rarely get pizza delivered anyway.
Crust is perfectly chewy and delicious and they have a great selection of toppings and speciality pizzas.
They have tons of TV’S with tons of sports if that’s what your into. They also have some really great beers/​ciders on tap.
I won’t disagree with some of the other reviews that the customer service isn’t always great but 9 times out of 10 everyone is really nice and friendly we all have off days.
This place may be a little out of the way but just give it a try the pizza is delicious!

Came here with every intent to catch a good buzz and down an entire cheesy, saucy pizza with my brother. BOTH HAPPENED.
We visited on NYE to kick things off right (we were there early afternoon). Not many people in the place, which is how I prefer it to be sometimes when I just want to chow down and converse.
My brother ordered some beer, and I ordered a half bottle of 7 Deadly Zins. The poor guy at the register did not know how to open my wine, but I won’t fault him for it. It was not a winery, and this guy responded professionally to an experience he was not familiar with by admitting it. Better than fumbling around about it.
My brother showed him what to do and we were on our way to catching a buzz.
A bit of imbibing passed and still no pizza. A woman came over to us to apologize and offered us some fresh bread as we waited. Hell to the yeah.
So, we chowed down on this deliciously hot cheesy bread with ranch and marinara sauces. It was great to prime our stomachs for the 16 inch beast that we would own in a few minutes.
Pizza came out and it was delectable to my eyes and mouth.
Every. Slice. Gone.
I don’t live in the area, but you betta believe that if I go back, I will be hittin this place up. Great service, great food, comfortable environment — and even some other interesting menu offerings that you don’t normally see at a pizza place. Pics posted.

LOVE their pizza. A little more expensive than other pizza places in Davis, but you’re paying for quality.
Ps. They’ll draw you something cool on your delivered pizza box if you ask for it :) We tried it!
