One of the reasons we didn’t move was because of this wonderful park. Safe friendly neighborhood for kids of all ages.

Great park! I have never been to the pool so cannot comment on it but I love this park. I run here all the time. It is perfect as you can run laps around the park or be connected to several other running trails. Water fountain and clean bathrooms along the way. Plenty of field/grass space for everyone to enjoy. Two separate playgrounds for big/small kids and a small rock climbing wall. Great for taking the kids, running/walking, or playing sports.

Not really a big fan of parks(b/c every park looks the same to me). I was here once for my animal behavior class in which I had to find a blue jay and observe its behavior for an assignment. As I chased every blue jay I can find down, I soon realize how big this park was and how clean and gorogous it was! I like how it’s next to the pool and the clean, open space is very inviting.

Ohhhh summer, as summer once again approaches the thought of basking in the sun and swimming dawns on us all!!! Arroyo pool is a perfect little haven to do all this, plus you can take a ride down the slide!!! And there is a water mushroom in shallowest of water to Wade through! It is a great family pool and being soo, gets packed beyond belief on saturdays from all of the families, there is a limit to how many people are allowed in the pool area and the staff sticks to it, so it doesn’t get even more crazy then normal! There are lounge chiars and Canopys on the grass so whether you want sun or shade it’s great!!! If your interested in the swim lessons they offer here, sign up early and for more then one session!!! They get booked but they deserve it because the majority of the classes are fantastic!

Why go to WaterWorld when you can bike to Arroyo Community Park. It is so full of wadDUUUPs. I discovered this place in the summer while chaperoning at Merryhill Elementary for a bunch of snot nosed yet adorable punks. As the school bus parked, I was astounded. ZOUNDS!!! I led the pack of screaming kids to the iron fence which fenced off… a WATERSLIDE. This place is reminiscent of Hawaii during the summer time. Trying to coax summer love into ridding the bottom part of her two piece, I took her here. This place is most definitely family orientated so please do not go walking around with your jugs hanging out like you would in Corsica. There are two pools. a kiddie one and a lap swimming pool with a couple diving boards. Most importantly, they have a water slide and because summer love met the height requirements, it was a rite of passage. While it does not tower nor menace the bravest of souls, and instead, caters to children, you have to take that into account and the feeling never gets old as your bottom flies off the slide until you are submerged by 3 feet water. The kiddie pool is fun because you can just wade around, gayly splashing little kids in the name of fun, besting their pitiful splashes with a butterfly stroke that creates a mini tidal wave. You can also sit under the giant mushrooms. When you get tired of splashing around in warm piss-infested waters, nimbly run to the snack bar where you can get some ice cream or other snack tidbits or to the diving boards where you can twirl in the air like Greg Luganus. Arroyo Pool is a good alternative to apartment pools and the Rec Pool.

I love this park! It has a water slide(even though I don’t know how to swim, it was fun almost drowning just to slide off of it). I came here strictly to tan but was persuaded by summer love to take a dip in the pool. The pool, surrounded by a nice clean green lawn, is of moderate size and has a cute water fall sprinkler apparatus thing so you can play with it. I don’t remember if they have tanning beds/chairs for you but just bring some towels, some food and you can have a picnic! They also sell beverages and ice cream there too. Outside food is allowed. Since this is a community park, there are lots of families there. There is fee for the pool. I think its less than $ 5 a person. I also saw a rock climbing wall and a play structure. A great place to hangout with friends during the summer and to TAN!!! Definitely a hidden gem in Davis and an alternative to apartment pools and the Rec Pool.
