I was on my way to Tres Hermanas to get some good Mexican when I saw this corner barber shop called Aggies. I needed a haircut anyway but this time I wanted a barber to do it. I was spoiled when I lived in San Francisco for 10 years going to a barber but now that I lived in Vacaville for 8 years, I’m a Great Clips veteran. Tired of getting different versions of the haircut though with Great Clips so I’m hoping Kihn at Aggies barbershop will be the one to become my one and only barber. He didn’t speak much English but I tried my best to explain to him how I wanted my hair. Zero on the sides and back, take a quarter of an inch off the the top and leave the very front a little long. He nodded and agreed with me. Truthfully I was a little scared cuz the dude spoke very little English and I had my fingers crossed that he does at least a decent job. Meanwhile the other barber Thomas was a chatterbox and spoke pretty good English. He spoke to me and my wife as if we were old friends and kept us entertained the whole time I was getting a haircut. At this time Kihn was concentrating and not saying a word while cutting my hair. Of course I can’t see too good trying to look at myself in the mirror to see how my haircut is unfolding b/c I wasn’t wearing my glasses so I continued to keep my fingers crossed. About 15 minutes into the haircut, Kihn looked like he was touching up my hair with this high powered shaver. All I could see in the mirror in a blur was the side of my head looked pretty bald. He then took his brush and cleaned me off, grabbed my glasses from the counter and put them on me. Much to my surprise my haircut looked perfect. I told him this is exactly what I want and said to make sure you remember this haircut. He said«sure come back every two weeks.» I’m down for that and I was very happy. My hairdo was finally perfect. The haircut cost me $ 18 bones and I gave him a $ 5 tip. I said goodbye to both fellows and told them it was nice meeting them. I will definitely come back. Five stars for this establishment.

LOL I walked in here and the shop was empty. I wonder why? The barber was just on his phone and didn’t even care that i walked in. I asked him the price for a simple comb over and he just pointed to the board and went back on his phone. I asked if there a special student promotion and he said go to another shop. No wonder no one was there. I don’t get why he was so hostile. I was the only one there.

I was in a huge hurry and my first choice via Unilocal! Was closed(what is it with barbers closing on Mondays?). I spied the barber pole and saw an empty seat. The gentleman ushered me in and I mentioned that I only had about 20 minutes to which he said«a nice clean up?» and I said«great!» As he was clipping away, I realized it was cash only. Ugh! Anyway – he finished(a nice job with a straight edge) and a great job! The best haircut I have had since I left Madison(the land of Mr. Rudd)! The gentleman was completely understanding and helped me find an ATM. I wish Olympia had this place!

If you are a man and describe your haircut using numbers this is a great pace to get your hair cut. If you bring in a photo of the latest boy band please go elsewhere and spare us your whiny review.(Yes I am giving a generous 5 stars because of those silly 1 star reviews. Thomas deserves better.) Service is always quick and courteous. Cuts are close and clean. I like that the edges are shaved not clipped. That’s what separates a barber from a beautician — a hot towel and straight razor!

I don’t know how bad this barber shop was in the past, but I just had a cut here today. My hair looks great and I got a clean hair cut here. I have been in Davis for 8 years and I was terrified very time I went for hair cut. I should have tried this barber shop earlier.

The haircut was 15 dollars, and not worth it at all. The barber barely spoke English. He was not able to cut my hair in the way I requested.

Classic barbershop that never fails to give you a quality haircut. Been seein Thomas here for over ten years. Can get quite busy at peak hours so factor that in.

Great place for an Old School cut! Gotta write your name on the tablet and request Thomas, he Is the barber you want, the younger lady is also good, but don’t let the other guy cut your hair, he is super rough and it won’t be a pleasant experience. Love the straight razor neck shave! This is truly a Barber shop not a hair stylist, It drives me nuts to walk into a place like great clips and they ask for you phone#, I just want a haircut man! O, and bring Cash, no credit cards.

Service is good but not all the barbers who works there are equally good. $ 13 is a very reasonable price in Davis. I am giving only two stars is because of the HYGIENE issues… they dont change the razor blades between customers and keep using the same one for the whole day. They only dip it in a sanitizer. This is not enough and could help transmitting diseases between customers.

Best aspect is the linoleum floor. Not a fan of shaving my neck. Trim works just as well. Three weeks later, haircut still looking good. Wouldn’t go back, but did the trick when i needed it.

SUCKS hard and RUDE barber. This is my first visit, so there might be some communication problem, so the barber dont actually understand what hair cut I want. So he gave me an unwanted hair cut. If at this moment, I have not asked for change it for a better hair cut, it would be much better now. But I asked, then he changed the hair cut, and it is even for worse. Even at this moment, I am just unsatisfied, not so unhappy about this barber. When I said I am unsatisfied with the hair cut, the barber got really angry, and he even said that I am giving him much trouble. Even his every move is like with anger, I was kinda worried whether he will hit me. and I felt really unwelcomed in this shop. One way to ruin people’s lives is to ruin their hair, If you want to commit suicide, come to this shop. Satisfaction Guaranteed.

Good cuts, usually a small wait but the hot shaving cream and the straight razor clean up after the cut is undeniably the best part

I would like to give this place a better review but I just can’t. The first time I have gotten a haircut there, I was fairly happy with the job. The young Asian lady there did a good job. The second time I went, I had to walk out before I got humiliated further. The owner was very rude. She treated potential customers who walked in by ignoring them and then rudely asking them«What do they want?» when they patiently wait without paying a word, and continues with the attitude afterwards. I’m sure her employees are great people, but she turned me away from Aggie’s Barber Shop forever.

Great place. Not top notch quality, but it does the job. Have been going here for the last 12yrs(on and off), and never a bad experience. Employees are detail oriented and take their time to make sure they do a good jon. Price is OK. Customer service great — feels like a barber shop…

I’ve had a few so-so haircuts here — nothing spectacular, but they were cheap. The best haircut was done by a man in his 60s who was talkative if you wanted or quiet if you wanted, but he did a great job regardless. The next(and worst) time I had an absolutely horrible hair-butchering experience with a man in his 40s or 50s who, without asking me, used some kind of hair gel that smelled like ham. Yes, ham. I walked away with a shitty haircut, smelling distinctly of ham.
