The food is average. I’m Dominican so I’m used to delicious and flavorful cooking. The mangu had a very weird aftertaste I’m thinking that it was the type of port they used however, the creole sauce they used for my mangu was very delicious. My friend ordered pollo a la brasa with rice beans and chicken. She also thought the food lacked flavor. We didn’t didn’t eat on so perhaps I can attribute this to that. Next time I plan to eat there and update my review.

Great menu, very affordable and friendly staff… what else can you ask for? The chicharron, the fried fish and carne frita are all very good options, pair them up with the tasty sides they offer and of course a nice cold presidente and you will not be disappointed.

Crispy pork chunks were unbelievable! I’m not a big fan of rice n beans but these were second to my husbands. Great for lunch and families, but around lunchtime they get busy. So you may need to wait for your check.

OFFICIALLYMYDOMINICANSPOT! They have a large selection of food there. From pollo al carbon to bistec encebollado. Their mangu is delicious very fluffy and it was fresh. Their chicken is full of flavor! I tried their chicharron and it was delicious as well. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. It has an extended seating area as well and the servers are very friendly.

I loooove their Mofongo, empanadas, arroz con guandule, their oxtail, and chicharon it’s out of this world. I go here often, as I’m a regular here. The staff is really nice too. Oh did I mention their sancocho? It’s really good too… :)

I went there years ago and the food used to be good. The service was ok. The food was cold and not fresh not good at all. We won’t be going there again.

My husband and I just ate here on Friday Jan 30 around noon time. We had a flight from Chicago and were super hungry but wanting something local and cheap. The lady from the car rental said to try this place so we did which I am glad. She recommended the fish and my husband ordered the fish filet with garlic sauce and arroz con gandules the fish was really good so yes order this! The rice was meh. I have had arroz con gandules in many many places over the years from many different countries(even the Mexicans in Waukegan have attempted it) but have never had it like this one Puerto Rican spot which I will write a review on that will leave you blown away. Anyway, back to my food. I ordered rotisserie chicken it was very dry and under seasoned. I have had dominican food in DR, NY, Chicago and many other places and I can say that my food did lack flavor for my taste. It was somewhat enjoyable to have my yuca and I asked for extra onions it was good, but the flavors did leave something to be desired. When I prepare my yuca hervida at home I used garlic, onions, a touch of vinegar and oil and it’s slammin. At this spot the yuca tasted a little plain to me. The tostones were dry and my white rice was lacking any flavor at all. The stew beans needed more garlic, cilantro, a little salt and pepper. Perhaps they were just off that day. I asked for habichuelas con dulce they did not have any so I was sad. I like comida criola(PR, DR, Cuban food) and like Caribbean flavors in general so they had all the ingredients to make it wonderful but just did not hit the spot for me this time. Please do not let my review discourage you from trying the place, the food was good, but since I have been cooking and eating this stuff for so many years my expectations may be a little high. I say try and see for yourself maybe you will enjoy it.

Roach infested!!! Took my mom to this restaurant on Saturday for lunch she ordered some mofongo but did not eat it all and I decided to take it home for my boyfriend. When he began to eat the mofongo he noticed a dead roach squished up inside the mofongo… to say that I’m traumatized and disgusted is an understatement! My boyfriend ended up throwing up the food and feeling sick to stomach for the rest of the day

If you feel like having a good Domincan meal, Pollo Tipico is it. Their food is so rich in flavor and so tasty it’s finger licking good. I’m cuban so I know my latin foods and I’m telling you this place is awesome, super affordable, and they give you a lot of food, 2 people can eat from 1 plate. Try it out definitely worth it!

Yes we have a winner. I give this place five stars for the next reasons. First of all if you are a lover of latin food this is your join. If you love to eat good for cheap this is your place too, but even better if you want a nice cool Presidente(Dominican Beer) just the way is serve in the Dominican you most likely want to visit this place. Mu wife and I are big lover of the Dominican culture and been looking for a place like this we finally found thanks to a friend that recommend this restaurant. My wife ordered fry pork which was served with rice and yuca and I ordered Cabrito(goat) let me tell you something goat is a really hard meet to cook since is a very tough meet well these guys know exactly what they are doing the goat was delish. Basically for two big meals a glass of wine and a presidente we pay 28 dollar plus tax and tip. This place is the real deal trust me you would love we cant wait to go back and try some more dishes

This place is great. Rotisserie chicken, arroz con gandules(rice with pigeon peas), tostones(smashed fried green plantains) at a great price. For example: a whole chicken, rice enough for 4 and tostones: $ 12.99. Everything taste very very good. If you live in the area or find yourself around there, you must try it.
