The onion soup cane out at room temp. There were more croutons than soup. The salad was not fresh and was also loaded with croutons. I felt that croutons is their fillers. Very disappointing.

This is a favorite stop on our way to CO. The menu is imaginative, service is very good. Food is great. We’ve never been disappointed.

I love sitting in the bar… Having a drink and small plates is so nice. Great place for a date. Menu is good with lots of variety… Especially with fish which I can appreciate! I would have given 4 stars but the wine prices are outrageous. They have their Decoy Pinot which retails for $ 23 priced at $ 60. I understand doubling the price of wine at restaurants but not 3x… Makes it not worth coming… Could stay at home and have three bottles withe a side of homemade fettuccine for the price of one bottle here.

Came here in a panic for healthy, tasty food to-go and found it! The chef and each staff memeber was very helpful and efficient; they helped me pull off a quick order with ease. Flatbreads were thin, crispy and tasty. Bourbon steak appetizer had great flavor, nice and tendor. The edamame chicken salad was a favorite as well. Highly recommened for food and service!

My husband and I had dinner at Thunder Bay last week. Our food was very good and our waiter, I’m thinking his name might have been Gary or Barry, was very good and attentive. Atmosphere was great and relaxing. The only negative were the bright spotlights off to the side of where we were sitting. They were very annoying. Definitely want to go back again

Even though I am a «local» — it’s been a long time since I ate at Thunder Bay Grille. Mostly because I remember it being very pricey. Today, I met my cousin there for her«birthday lunch» — and I was looking forward to a special meal. At 12:30 on a Friday afternoon — the parking lot only had a few cars. Inside, nobody was attending the desk, and I waited for a few minutes, but never did see a hostess. I knew my cousin was inside already… so I went to look for her. The lunch menu is odd, as I couldn’t figure out what Thunder Bay is going for. They offer«small plates». What does that mean? For $ 7-$ 9? Coconut Shrimp is one of my favorite things — but it was only offered as «a small plate». Was that meant to be lunch? I was feeling stupid — when the next thing on the menu is «shared plates»…a completely different line-up of food — for basically the same price as the small plates($ 7 – 12). WHA? So – are the shared plates enough food for two people? Would we have to order something else? After way too much deliberation, we both ordered their house specialty — the fish and chips. Totally boring. It was four small pieces of fish, served with very unremarkable french fries that were barely hot. The biggest problem was caused by the sopping wet lettuce sitting under the fish. I removed the lettuce as soon as I realized it was making the fish AND the fries soggy… but the damage was done. Wet lettuce is such an elementary mistake — it makes me wonder what’s going on in the kitchen. I’m giving it two stars because our waitress was nice, and the carrot cake was wonderful. But the lunch cost $ 34 — and with a tip — $ 40 is just way too much money for the mediocre lunch they delivered. At the rate they’re going — Thunder Bay will be closed before I’m in the mood to eat there again…

This place has a great menu, nice staff, and a patio for the summer! My husband and I were driving on I80 and my father happened to be headed by davenport at the same time randomly so we met here for dinner! We wanted a place we could bring our small dog and not leave him in the car. They have a patio that is nice(a little buggy this night) but so perfect! We had salmon, chicken Caesar, Asian chicken salad and crawfish Rangoon. Will be back anytime we drive through again.

Salmonella from last night’s ahi tuna salad. Nothing like a trip to the ER to kick off a vacation.

Thunder Bay was known for having excellent service and even better food… until now. Here’s how things went: We were greeted by 4 people at the hostess stand and told them we had a reservation. After a couple minutes of discussion amongst themselves they decided to tell us, «We are cleaning off your table now and will sit you in the next couple minutes.» We waited… and waited… and waited some more until after about 15 minutes I asked again and was told, «We are cleaning off your table now and will sit you in the next couple of minutes.» At this point it took a little self control to wait a few more minutes without being seated. Finally at 25 minutes past our reso time we were seated — walking by table after table of open seating Our table ordered a ribeye(medium well), ribeye(medium rare), cheeseburger, and red grouper. We also ordered 2 Rieslings and a glass of Cabernet. Our server was a little scatterbrained and inattentive. She also gave my younger sister(whose bday we were celebrating) some attitude that was unappreciated. Basically, the 2 Riesling glasses came poured in carafes. There was about 2 oz of Riesling left in both carafes when the server swiped them from the table. My sister asked, «Did you take our wine from the table?» «Yea, there was nothing left in them,» our server responded. After a brief back and forth she brought out wine to replace what was taken — this was appreciated but the challenging exchange between her and my sister was not. Next, our food came out… The medium well ribeye was cooked to medium/medium rare, the Rosemary potatoes that came with each dish were not cooked all of the way thru, my mom’s cheeseburger was completely charred, and my red grouper was room temperature and undercooked. I’m sorry to say that TBG is overpriced and a letdown. Some value has to be embedded into the experience. I’m not willing to pay a premium for an underwhelming dining experience at TBG ever again.

Waited 15 min for table while restaurant had many open tables. Went to bar. Out of Corona. noted to us only 3 of another kind of beer. Weird. Food subpar… burger overcooked not stuffed with cheese. Steak medalions very sparse. Great atmosphere. Sweet efficient waitress. Won’t go back

Very disappointed. The Killer Bouillabaisse had two mussels, two clams, four shrimp and two scallops. Really? They serve it in the pan they cook it in with a tiny crust of bread on the side. There was WAY too much celery and it was over powering the dish. Frankly, a similar dish at Trattoria Tiramisu is much better. My hubby had the tuna oscar which was way over cooked, dry and tasteless. Too bad as the atmosphere was nice. If you are just going for drinks, enjoy, but the food isn’t that great for the price.

Visited here last night due to proximity to my hotel. I was very surprised right through the front door! I sat in the very comfortable bar area. I ordered the cedar plank salmon with rice pilaf, vegetables, a ceasar salad, and a Cody Road bourbon on ice. The salmon was cooked to perfection, the vegetables were fantastic, the rice pilaf was, of course, rice pilaf, and the ceasar salad was great! The service was great too. I will definitely be back.

A resounding meh. The service was slow and the wait staff clearly didn’t seem to care. For as fancy as the place looks, you would think they would have clean plates and cups. As far as the food goes, I got the bison meatloaf. The meatloaf itself was good. The presentation was lacking. It came with sautéed mushrooms that didn’t taste right. Maybe they try harder during the diner service?

Ms T and I traveled to Chicagoland for a concert and to visit the kiddies. We returned by way of Muscatine visiting family and on the way, stopped at Thunder Bay Grille for lunch. You know it has to be good when there is a silent«e» on Grille. We found it by accident, exiting just to look for something that was not fast food. It is a fairly large place fairly dark inside. We did not order heavy. We split a Chicken Salad and a Turkey Rueben. The food here was fine, not exceptional. Ms T was happy to find no onion in the chicken salad. The turkey on the sandwich was generous. It is a decent straight ahead place for American lunch. Our service was friendly and competent. We were happy with what we had and it is certainly better than the fast food alternates in the area. It is probably an OK place for what gets called comfort food, for dinner.

My crawfish rangoons were absolutely horrible and my blackened fish taco was the worst! They used 2-year old corn tortillas that they microwaved for about 20 minutes. They were tough like leather and were inedible! The only saving grace out of my whole meal were the cornbread crabcakes. They were really good. But still… If I’m ever in Davenport again — I would make it a point to never come back to Thunder Bay Grille. The waiter basically forgot we existed after they served us our food. I don’t understand how this restaurant had such great reviews.

I wanted to like this place. I called ahead because I have a limited diet and didn’t see anything on the menu that would work for me. I was going with a big group that specifically wanted to go there, so I decided to see if they could accommodate me. I talked to the general manager and the chef and they were both great! They talked a lot about how well they could take care of my dietary issues and were generally really encouraging. I was looking forward to dinner. I got there and no one who I had talked to in the afternoon was there. I mentioned the conversation I’d had with folks about how dishes could be cooked different, and our server was clueless. He told me I couldn’t substitute beans for chicken on a salad, even though that was something I had discussed earlier. He also wasn’t if they had any cider or gluten free beer. I’m from the East Coast– maybe this isn’t a thing in the Midwest? The ambiance is nice, it’s like a big, open lodge. Our server was nice, just not very knowledgeable or helpful. We also waited for about 40 minutes at the end of the meal, thinking our server would bring the check… he did not. Everyone else really enjoyed their food, and my lackluster salad was ok.

I’ve been twice – dinner was great and service was wonderful. Lunch, service wasn’t great and food took awhile but was good. I would definitely try again based on my first experience.
