A lot of the value of this place depend on how you look at it. It’s not a ritzy, night out kind of experience. But for prices comparable to KFC, you’re getting fresh fried, delicious chicken, made when you prefer instead of sitting under lights. In the forbidden deep fried pleasures category, they are fantastic, and something the QCA needs more of. Also, they’re open into the wee hours, which is pretty awesome when you have the 1 am munchies. There are no frills in the restaurant; the staff is new, and learning as they go. But they’re super friendly, and treat the customer like a friend, not one more nuisance to trudge through before their day is done. If you’re looking for glamour, or even just the typical chain experience, skip Ram’s. If you want awesome, deeply satisfying food at very affordable prices, give it a try. Your tastebuds will thank you.

Opened August 2014. Specializes in fried chicken. Décor is pretty sparse. Absolutely no frills. Service was marginal. Both workers there were very nice but clearly lacked restaurant experience. The cook was sitting at a booth eating his dinner and I had to wait until he finished eating before he started cooking my food. An order to two pieces of chicken and two pre-made sides took 25 minutes to get from the time I ordered. I got the special of two pieces of white meat fried chicken with mac and cheese and mash potatoes and gravy. The mash potatoes were satisfying, but nothing special. The mac and cheese was fair at best. It must have been sitting for a while and wasn’t as cheesy as I would hope for. All these shortcomings aside the chicken was actually really good. Juicy and a coating that had good flavor but wasn’t too thick or greasy. All put together everything cancels out, leaving this place with a middle of the road score. Give it a chance though, I just reccomend calling ahead and bringing it home.
