McClellan Stockade

The Stockade in East Village Davenport, Ia is good place to chill out with friends. The bartenders are very efficient. You would think they had eyes behind their heads, because they always take care you pronto. Kelsey is outstanding as a server. Also Emily, Kelly, Lindsay and Tara are good. They have a very good selection of liquors. They have Agave wheat by Breckinridge which is a great beer. It’s the favorite beer At Crust.

I feel like this is the kind of bar I would generally like… It’s pretty small, got a divey vibe and decent beer selection, bottled at least. (Anywhere in the quad cities who has more than blue moon as their only wheat beer gets points.) It’s cash only but i think i saw an atm near the bathrooms. My only complaint is that for the size and type of bar this is, I can’t understand why there’s always one hot, female bartender working by herself everytime and they are always dressed like they are on their way to junior prom. It just seems really inapropriate and doesn’t go with the ambiance. I’m just wondering if they choose to dress like that or if they have a sleazy boss making them wear skin tight, floor length ball gowns with plunging neck lines while they sling bud lights to regulars on week nights. #weird

Dont ask the bartender to call you a cab. $ 6 to start and easily twice as much on mileage. This pisses me off that the bar is getting some sort of kickback on exorbitant cab fares.

Cash only, but has an ATM on site. Lots of TVs for sports. Drinks were average priced but made well. Parking can be a pain, but is expected in the Village.

Obnoxiously loud «DJ» each time I’ve been here. What ever happened to a good ol’ jukebox? Why is a DJ necessary in a place the size of the trunk of my VW Beetle? Redeeming qualities are the bartenders’ quick service and the place having its own parking lot in the back. It was going to get 2 stars, but the moose head on the wall behind the bar is pretty badass.

Fun bar right in the Village of downtown Davenport. Similar to others on the strip. I would definitely visit again.
