Love’s Travel Stop

For a service station along a long travel route, this place had what I value most: clean bathrooms! They also had a large selection of typical convenience store food items, including fresh fruit cups, reasonably priced. Easy in/​out from I-​80.

There is a reason I love to stop at Love’s Travel Centers when I am on the road. They are always conveniently located just off a major freeway with easy access both on and off. They sell their gas at low prices. They have clean restrooms. The women’s room at this location has an upright mirror that can be used to see oneself from head to toe and a Koala fold out diaper changing station.
There are a number of healthy food items including a variety of fresh fruits (apples, bananas). They carry a great selection of drinks in the refrigerated case, six different favors of coffee and a fountain that offers Diet Pepsi, Diet Coke, Diet Dr. Pepper, and Diet Mountain Dew. The fountain also offers ‘flavor blasts’, syrups favors like vanilla and cherry that you can use to spice your sodas up a little.
They also carry some clothing items, jewelry, DVDs, electronic cords and chargers, mad automotive electronics. I bought a Power Drive on sale (and with a rebate, to boot) which plugs into a car’s lighter and provides power via two outlets and a USB port. I’ve been using one that belongs to my friends to charge my iPad and iPhone in the car and love it!
I chatted with the workers while I waited for one of them to find the key to unlock the Power Drive from its display and get the rebate form and they were all very friendly. One was particularly friendly and was giving us tips on where we should eat dinner. Unfortunately for us. The restaurant he was recommending was farther away from the interstate than we really wanted to drive, but it was really nice of him to take the time to suggest it and draw me a map of how to get here.
There’s an Arby’s attached to the convenience store, but we were looking for more of a sit down dinner experience. (Try out the Machine Shed just across the freeway if you’ve got the time)
Convenient location, low prices, friendly workers, a variety of food and beverage items (they were running specials on these), and friendly helpful employees — what more could you ask for? Nutt’n Honey — 5 stars!
