Strickland’s ABC Package Store

This is not one of your major liquor outlets but it is close to downtown and the prices are reasonable. It would be unfair to compare it to a behemoth store such as Micky Finn’s or a Green’s. This is a tiny store next to a gas station and it is not much bigger than the area behind the typical counter of a convenience store.
The selection is very decent and the pricing is competitive. What really makes this place stand out is the service. Every staff member who has helped me here has been just incredibly cordial. They are willing to answer every question, check stock on something that you are unable to find and they give you the impression that they truly appreciate your patronage.
On a personal note, I will admit that they have saved an evening or two for me when guests are headed to the house and I am out of whatever they may be drinking. A quick dash down to this place has turned many a family gathering from potential disaster into an evening where everyone left without being asked to and in a jolly mood.
It pays to support the small businesses in the area whenever possible.
