Palmer’s Darien

It’s amazing to me that someone from Palmer’s today took the time to turn the tables on me, and make THEIR wrongdoings MY fault by stating, «I am sorry if you misinterpreted our cashier as wanting to keep your change.» I don’t misinterpret. THAT’S WHAT I DO FOR A LIVING: INTERPRET IN 12 DIFFERENT LANGUAGES! If you are asking to keep my change for a specific cause or reason, TELL ME!
You cannot assume a customer knows this; moreover, you cannot accuse a customer of «misinterpreting» what has never been communicated!
Communication, as described in my previous reviews, is a major problem with Palmer’s. They either don’t communicate at all; when they do, they are rude; or, they accuse the customer (who, in my America, is still always right) of «misinterpreting!»
This pretentious, obnoxious comment from Palmer’s today sealed the deal: I will NEVER go back!
Congratulations, you just lost a customer who, over the course of the past 11 years, has spent hundreds of dollars weekly.
No worries, though, you have many of them who care a whole lot less…

I wanted to give a GREAT review of Palmer’s. The store is nice, very clean, nice atmosphere, but what we really come here for is the BAKERY! they have the best cupcakes and I have always come back, I was reminded to write this review, because on a different post for a different bakery someone else mentioned Palmer’s and going there just to go to the bakery is worth it, have been going for about 5+ years now.
Try everything!

I had a rush order for same day delivery of some baked goods and Palmer’s went above and beyond to accommodate my request. They answered their phones, forwarded me to the person I needed to speak with, and subsequently called me back in a timely manner. They were so friendly, and even though this type of local delivery wasn’t something they normally do, they were able to make it happen for me in less than 4 hours! And the cookies were DELICIOUS! Would definitely recommend.

Wonderful, friendly market that supports the community, hires local kids and sells quality food. Its a little pricey sometimes but the atmosphere is good, its a great place to shop with small kids because they have tiny carts. The meat department is EXCELLENT. Its such a pleasure to shop here.

Palmers is a great market always the products you expect from a supermarket but also unique items you won’t find everywhere. They have a excellent prepared food selection with a few staples your always happy to see in the case (Thai Flank Steak … Yumm…) the bakery had an entire redo a few years ago and the def worth it. They offer everything from homemade baked muffins to custom wedding cakes. they also have a gift selection and home goods, the flowers are to die for. You could really go there for most everything you would need on a daily basis. let’s not forget the Catering Department… One glance at the menu and your dreaming up reasons to throw a party. The food is really exceptional and fresh, Always fresh that’s most important to me. This is a family owned market that everyone should go check out, trust me you will want to go back all the time.

If you guys want the best in CT, Palmer’s is it. I make sure to come here at least once when I visit CT. They’re friendly, and have great quality food. If you want a suggestion, I say go for their vanilla cupcakes and blueberry lemon scones. Yum!

Any supermarket that stocks Lilly Pulitzer is special! Oh yeah and the food! Some things are way overpriced that are easily found elsewhere for less, but that’s life! I will always and forever be a Palmer’s fan.

So yea they’re located in a supermarket BUT theyre rated highly on
for a reason! We had them do my baby shower cake this past wknd and I came up with a design which they executed really well and made beautiful cupcakes. We had carrot cake, red velvet with cream cheese frosting and vanilla with chocolate and all flavors were delicious! The cakes were also moist! Since I recently moved to CT, I didn’t know of any bakeries and this one was a delight to deal with and the cakes were good!

I think all the other reviews sum it up. Chef Megan is Great and i would not be surprised if she gets a James Beard Award During her carrier. She also Has a keen eye for hiring talented chefs. Palmers has one of the most talented kitchens I’ve seen work. the prepared food is second to none. if they only had a small café to sit and enjoy some of the culinary masterpieces. Chef Megan and her team put the word Art into Culinary Art’s.
