Great food, great service, and a gorgeous view of the setting sun made this a great place to stop for dinner. Easy access from the interstate was an added plus since we were traveling through the area. We ate an early supper which enabled us to avoid the wait for a table. We ordered the shrimp & grits and the shrimp creole. My shrimp creole was loaded with shrimp and the sauce was mouth watering. To top it all off, our waitress was very helpful and friendly.

Wow! Second time I’ve visited this area and had dinner here both times. The gumbo for a starter is a must, only complaint is I fail to order the bowl as the cup is small. I had the special beef brisket wrapped in bacon, WOW!!! Delish. Do not leave without haven’t the side that had the craw fish in he graham cracker crust, so dang good! Only negative is the beer is way way way over priced

Shrimp and grits. Delicious! Why? They take a different approach to this classic dish. The shrimp are marinated in bold spices and then grilled or broiled? I’m not sure but tasty. It sits on two cylinders of grits, which are then seared for a nice crunch. To top it off is a thick, spicy, Cajun sauce that I kept finding myself sopping up with the grits. Side of green beans also had a nice crunch. I would have liked them to be sautéed in some garlic and olive oil. Overall, my waitress was friendly and great!

Found hairs in my fried shrimp, food was good though, will not be going back! Management must have thought we put hairs in the food because their response was, «I wish you would have told us sooner!» How could i tell you about something i have not found??? They gave us a $ 10 gift card, i politely left if on the table after paying. Never going back!

A coworker and I went here to round off a travel day from Rhode Island. I was really in the mood to get my southern food fix. Boudreaux’s is really nearby to I-10 and all the hotels, so this seemed like a perfect option for my travel-weary self. Service was good, friendly, and efficient. There was live music(just one guy) on the nice, clean outdoor patio that overlooked the water and Mobile(although we couldn’t see it through the haze. As for drinks, I ordered a beer– my colleague ordered an iced tea type of thing with bourbon. Most of the beers on tap seem to be relatively local. Now onto the food. Everything was really, really great. We ordered the blackened alligator appetizer, which was well-seasoned and tasty. I guess(?) it’s a great example of blackened alligator– but who’s to say, I’m not from around here. Next, I had a cup of seafood gumbo. It was spicy, contained a lot of Andouille sausage, and shrimp — very tasty. Hush puppies are complimentary and are some of the best I’ve had. Finally I had shrimp and grits as an entrée. This entrée is no joke; mountains of shrimp upon hills of grit cakes. The whole thing was covered in a cajun cream sauce and served with some green beans on the side. It was spicy. It was cheesy. It was exactly what I needed after all that travel. It’s too bad I don’t have this somewhere near Providence, alas. I’ll be back if I find myself in the area, although I’m not so sure that’s likely.

Great food and service! We had the Spinach dip for an appetizer, the flounder, shrimp and Grits and red beans and rice! All delicious, especially the red beans and rice! Bananas Foster bread pudding was to die for and the kids loved the beignets! Right on the bay… lovely experience.

I’ve visited Boudreaux’s a few times, and I haven’t been disappointed at any time. On my first visit, I had brunch, and on the second, I had grilled tuna steak with bananas foster bread pudding for dessert. My most recent visit, I had the black and blue salad. I’m not a salad eater, but I can’t resist blue cheese and steak. This was like eating a full steak that was already cut up, with a salad on the side. They weren’t skimpy with the steak, and it was cooked perfectly. My son had the crawfish étouffée and started with a cup of crab bisque. The crab bisque was very creamy and also had spinach in it. It was great. The étouffée was very spicy, and was topped with fried crawfish. My husband had a redfish poboy and he said it was delicious. Even though we were stuffed, we had to end it with the bananas foster bread pudding. It’s topped with a rum sauce and fresh slices of banana. That ooey-gooey goodness makes me wish I had ordered dessert first. Although most of the restaurant has an incredible view of the Mobile Bay, on our most recent visit, we were finally able to score a seat on the awesome deck! The deck is the perfect spot to enjoy beautiful weather. Aside from tables, they also have some comfortable seating with fire pits. It seems like a great place to enjoy a glass of wine and a few appetizers with your friends. The service has always been exceptional. The prices are very reasonable, especially given the location. If you’re looking for a great place to eat on the Bay, put Boudreaux’s on the list!

Excellent food, great sunsets, nice outside deck, very friendly staff. Shelby was a great bartender, made me feel at home being from up North. Catfish was amazing, great flavor and a huge portion. Had a side of gumbo vice salad and will be coming back for more. So many things on the menu looked good, hard to decide.

We tried this place when it first opened and were blown away! Food is real Cajun. From the simple Farmhouse Salad with corn maque choux, grilled chicken and creamy basil dressing to crawfish cakes on fried green tomatoes to beignets fried in cotton oil, crispy, fluffy which leave you with a powdered sugar mustache! Coffee is great too. It was nice to top off the meal after a wonderful dinner with great cocktails!

I’ve eaten here a few times, and it’s pretty good — they have a large menu selection, and the service is always attentive and friendly. The food is pretty hit-or-miss: what’s good is good but what’s not is really not. I’m not a fan of their salads which are served with a strange basil-y, eucalyptus-y dressing; I sat there sniffing for 10 minutes trying to figure out what that cat litter-like smell was. I’ve only tried two appetizers: the spinach-artichoke dip is absolutely delicious. Unlike many other restaurants, it doesn’t taste like it was poured out of a vat, and there’s actually big hunks of cheese and artichoke in it – a meal here isn’t complete without it! I’ve also tried something that was corn fritter-like, and it tasted like a dried-out hushpuppy with bits of corn in it; not a favourite. We ordered a shrimp poboy, the shrimp and grits, and the eggplant New Orleans. The poboy was delicious and comparable to my favourite place for poboys. The shrimp and grits were alright, except the tails were still on the shrimp and the grit cakes were completely doused in some kind of hot sauce, so it was messy and had more heat than actual flavour. The eggplant New Orleans was the worst — it was squishy and smelled like wet dog, although when we told the server, he apologized and said the kitchen was making another batch because they wanted to solve the problem. This seems to be one of the few restaurants who actually want to hear how it is when they ask you! Consistently great service, inconsistently good or bad food — it’s a gamble, but it’s worth it.

The views cannot be beat. Service was a bit slow with several staff members walking past my empty ice tea glass– pet peeve but my lunch was delish. I had one of their signature dishes– Chicken Macque Choux. The boneless chicken thighs were tender, the corn Macque Choux was just spicy enough to enjoy without being overpowering & the mash potatoes outstanding. The lunch portion was PLENTY I can’t image the dinner portion. Go forth & enjoy this local gem.

Awesome! Great food and service. Generous portions for the price. Nice outdoor deck to eat on with live music. I had the salmon with veggies and fabulous mashed potatoes. I would go here again without a doubt.

I’m from New Orleans, and this place is way better than«Copeland’s”– with that nasty Popeyes biscuit on the side of everything. My wife had the salmon salad with a balsamic vinaigrette, and I had the oyster Rockefeller po-boy(that went through a panini press). It was pretty good. I posted the photos but didn’t see them. As always, a bathroom photo, and aside from a garbage can overflowing with paper towels, it was clean and«stench free». Unlike a previous review from someone that was upset about the size of his $ 12 salad. Well go to Copeland’s and pay $ 15! The deck is really nice, but is was cooler inside and we were both red from the gulf park pier and beach. A band was playing on the back deck and it might as well have been Stevie nicks & Jimmy Buffett(20 years ago). I give the New Orleans stamp of approval to this place. You won’t find«beef gumbo» like New Orleans square in Disneyland Anaheim. The waitress was cool and the bar was kickin’. Looked like a happening place for small town people to hang out on a nice Saturday night!!! At least you’ll have a 100% chance of making it home, unlike New Orleans… Flies are inevitable with people going in and out the back door 24⁄7. I suggest they hang 1 quart baggies filled with water and a single penny. It sounds voodoo, but it works. We went back for brunch today, and my wife had the flounder almandine, I had the brunch crab cakes with hollaindaise sauce. Everything had a kick to it(2 drops of crab boil in an order of cheese grits) – but those in Alabama or Colorado don’t know the difference anyhow… We steal royal reds to put in our gumbo so the restaurant biz is all fair game. A real roast beef po-boy like parkway, a muffuletta from nor-joe imports, or a pirogue full of crawfish would have been a refreshing sight and would fill that place to the gills. If they really«needed» they could hire a shucker and do lagniappe grilled oysters on the back porch & have everyone within miles asking«where’s that smell coming from?» But I’m not the owner, sorry…

I really want to love this place but don’t. The food is good but my $ 12 salad was smaller than most side salads. They had 6 shrimp on it and they were small to medium in size. The food is good but if not for the atmosphere I would have only given it 2 stars… Gonna go get some food from the hotel now. Ughhhh after my visit to the Men’s room I dropped a star. They have Renuzit sticks trying to cover up the odor …

We ordered the gumbo, pastalaya, and flounder almandine. Gumbo was good. Pastalaya was runny… with farfalle you need a thicker sauce. Tasted more pasta than laya. Flounder was good but I felt was overcooked, and could not cut with a fork… outside was a hard crust. Mashed potatoes and green beans were good but overly seasoned and tasted quite salty. Our waitress Tiffany was great and very accommodating, helping us decide on things.

Try the crawfish fritters or the spinach dip! Po boy was delicious as well as their brunch items. Boudreaux’s Benedict was excellent! Then the dinner menu was great too! I enjoyed my jambalaya after I put a little hot sauce on it. I look forward to going back and trying it again as they say they plan to kick up the spices a bit and add a bit more chicken and sausage! The mashed sweet potatoes are too hard to explain, just try them! And the cheese grits are amazing! With the view they have I can’t imagine not coming back!!!
