My mother overpaid for a set from this company about 3 – 4 years back. I think it was like $ 6000! What a joke. They assured us that if we ever had to move it they would come out and move it for us for around $ 200. Well, when we had to move they passed us off to their install guy. The guy never called and when I finally got ahold of him, he asked that I sent him photos. I sent them promptly and then never heard from him again. We ended up leaving the set at our old address because this of this company’s incompetence and lack of care for past purchases. Their sets are waaay overpriced and the quality is lackluster. The roof of my unit was already badly discolored. Do yourself a favor and purchase your backyard playset from somewhere else where they actually value customers.

Mrs. Rogers, as a Walnut Creek resident of more than 25 years, and a HUGE supporter of local businesses it is tough to write this review. Let me start by saying that I was SO excited to purchase a Goalrilla Basketball Hoop system for my two boys. Ended up spending close to $ 2,200.00 just for the hoop system. Leslie was extremely nice and very accommodating and made my purchase quick and easy over the phone. The problem began when I asked about installation. Leslie proceeded to tell me that they used an installer, and provided his name and number. I called and made the installation appointment. The installer was extremely professional and the appointment was made. Now the catch! Today is 10÷20÷14, the installation is supposed to begin on 10÷23÷14. The installer instructed me to call 811, which is a service used to inform people who are doing any type of yard construction of any underground wires. I had traded e-mails with Leslie prior to my purchase, and was instructed by her to contact 811. This struck me as odd because I would be paying an employee of The Backyard Factory to do the install. I contacted 811, and was asked by them when I planned on starting my project. I proceeded to tell them that I would not, that I had an installer from a company where I purchased my basketball hoop would be doing the install. The operator stated that the person doing the excavation would be required to complete the ticket to do the check on any underground lines and wires. This seemed more normal to me because after a new fence install, and a pool, I never was responsible for permits or any of that. On 10÷20÷14, I contacted Leslie with my concerns, and should I say she was NOTSOACCOMMODATING this time. She proceeded to basically tell me that I was on my own. Her job was done, that she gave me the name of the installer and any concerns go through him. I found this odd, because she recommended him as someone that they utilize for installation. When I asked her for his business license number, she told me to call him. Again strange, because she referred me to him as an installer for the The BackYard Factory. As you would expect, with such a large purchase, I just wanted to be safe. She could have cared less. I became extremely angry by this because it seemed that once the purchase cleared, I was on my own. She told me that they sell the hoop system, but as the HOMEOWNER in a very CONDESCENDING tone I could use their installer or someone else. She also told me that she has had many people do their own installation. WHAT? I’m not looking for a do it yourself project, just a good, clean, SAFE installation for my two young boys. I told her that I was considering returning the hoop system that I did not have yet, and I asked her about a refund. She proceeded to tell me there would be a fee. Again, WHAT? When I asked her how much, she stated she did not know and it would take her about an hour to find out. She obviously never returned my call. The bad thing is that I already told my two boys 10 and 6, about the new hoop, so they are expecting it this week. WORSTEXPERIENCEEVER!!! Because of Leslie, I will tell every single parent I know, at CYO, WYCAA, my kids school, friends at St. Isidore’s basketball league of my negative experience with Leslie, and encourage them NOTTOGOTOTHEBACKYARDFACTORY!!!

Story time Unilocalers…(and you know you love my stories)…Son is turning 2 in a few weeks and the birthday bash is at the house. One year old bday parties are for adults, but second birthday parties are for the kids… if I don’t do something for the rugrats, my walls and entire house will be a disaster zone. think… think…think…Need something for the kid to do… especially to burn off energy… where in the genetic code is energy? Dont think I have time to mutate that gene so I looked online for backyard swing sets… too confusing to measure space, and I couldnt tell online on a dinky 2×2 picture what my kid likes… I take him to the park and he likes everything… but my back yard isnt big enough to have an entire playground in my back yard. Wifey is pressuring me to take her everywhere and its a Saturday after a long day at work for me… Wife did some research and found Backyard Factory. Open till 5 on a Saturday… figured they were crazier than me, so I hoped in the car and drove over. Their showroom is AWESOME. They had all these different types of play sets all around the store behind the trampolines(which I didnt have a chance to jump on). 4:37pm and we wanted to just browse. I get approached by a pleasant lady who I thought was going to pull the sales pitch. Im thinking lady, I just want to make my wife happy to show effort that I made it out here on a Saturday to look for playsets… but we just started talking… We got in the store and my SONWENTNUTS! Loved every play structure. Went down the slides and up the slides, he was able to run around, swing on swing sets… really got to try out the play sets. Christina talked about play sets, popular additions and things she said werent too popular. Theeir play sets are solid and strong… made of cedar wood and strong plastic… not going to fall apart in a year… these are things that I can put on a church playground and it will last a lifetime… We told her I needed to ideally do the measurements in the back yard and she have given me all the info I needed. She stayed late to make sure all our questions were asked on a Saturday… this is why i love small businesses who have passion for their product and their services. I dont like dealing with Costco or Toys R Us, or any other big box retailer when it comes to making an investment like this! I want my son’s playset to be strong and sturdy… Keep you Unilocalers updated…
