Exactly 4 stars. Easygoing location, nonpretencious, simple and tasty food. Just what you expect from a local Mediterranean family run restaurant with owners putting their heart into the cooking!

Great authentic good and location. Lacking in the warm and fuzzy service. Super for take out catering except for the changing prices between call in and pick up several times now.

Food is excellent — best Greek in Danville. Service was friendly. Parking is excellent if you do not want to deal with downtown.

The pomegranate chicken is softer than butter, their hummus is the smoothest I’ve ever tasted, and their kabob is so tender and full of flavor! AND, they made us feel like royalty! My husband, my almost 2-year old son, and I went there for an early dinner. I let the server know that the last time we had been there was 2 years ago when I was pregnant with our son. He turned to our son and said, «Well, thank you for coming back!» I told him that we tried their sampler on that visit. SO, he returned with a complimentary miniature sampler. My son has Down Syndrome and has been struggling with feeding issues… and he ate the hummus! We are their customers for life!

Just like sister restaurants in Walnut Creek Pomegranate and Silk. Good but pricey and service was subpar. Lots of mistakes the night we went. Nice dining atmosphere but not close to stellar

I had lunch here today. The server was friendly, attentive and not too bad on the eyes. I love the atmosphere of the place. There’s dining outside with heat lamps. It wasn’t too busy. They start you out with pita bread and some garlic concoction. My goodness it was too good. I had the chicken kabobs. It came with rice and mixed vegetables. The food was to die for good. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. It wasn’t on skewers. It was just the chicken. The vegetables were cooked perfectly. I must come back!

Ive been craving Mediterranean a lot lately so I asked my Mom if she wanted to check this place out. The food was good though my Kubideh was a little charred on the ends but otherwise very good. I will definitely be back next time Im in the area.

Food and service very good. Fresh, home made pita brought around generously. Greek salad excellent. With that fresh pita, the Gyro is good.

I used to like Santorini, but last Saturday night four of us went out and had the worst meal EVER! We would equate it with hospital or school cafeteria food. My Caesar salad had no anchovies, no bread cubes, and no dressing that I could taste… just chopped romaine, a little Parmesan and a few minute bits of tomato. Seven dollars extra! My chicken kabob was one teensy skewer of dried chicken, lukewarm with fake grill marks. Tasted like it was microwaved. There was half a small microwaved tomato on the plate along with heaps of plain white rice that was still a little watery. The veggies were plain but at least not overcooked .Even a beginning cook could do much better at home and there was nothing to make the meal seem Greek or exotic. The wine was okay. Maybe the regular staff was off on Xmas break. Whatever the excuse, we wound up with a bill the size of a week’s groceries and a meal that compelled me to write this review.

This is from an inside source who used to work @ the Walnut Creek restaurant & saw it with my own eyes.

A combination of good service, good food, and wonderful ambiance. With the exception of the running footsteps from the 2nd floor, we had a wonderful time having our late lunch. The Kubideh or Koobideh was juicy and came with a good portion of veggie and rice. I expected Greek salad to go with the dish. Instead, it came with steamed broccoli and carrots. The Gyro platter had a nice plate setting. The greens were surrounded by a good portion of Gyro meat, white onions, chopped tomatoes, and white sauce(assuming was tzatsiki sauce) It was tasty. But I found the meat a bit salty. Their pita bread was served warm, just how I liked it. It went very well with the Babaganoosh and the dip. Our 4 year old wanted spaghetti, but settled with the Angel Hair with Marinara sauce from the kids menu. We were very appreciative of them accommodating our little ones with kids cups for their white milk and plastic utensils for easy handling. We were taking pictures 9f the food and our kids, when our server offered to take out family photo. We didn’t have to ask him, he just volunteered. I appreciated his nice gesture.

Service was good at the beginning until after we received our entrees. Did not see the waiter for a while which was sort of a problem. My pork tenderloin was very dry but by the time the waiter checked in, everyone had finished eating. They offered to make something else for me «to go», which I declined several times. I finally gave in and took there offer to make something else. I did not get to enjoy my dinner with everyone else and was surprised that they charged for the takeout meal. In past experiences, most places comp when your time in the establishment was not enjoyable. I have no plans on returning.

Santorini is consistent for the most part for decent kabob(chicken, koobideh, lamb, filet) plates and they also have decent Greek items like hummus and baba ghanoush. Their warm pita bread with garlic olive oil dip is amazing as well. We’ve been here many times for takeout and dine in. Tonight’s dinner service fell a bit short, so –1 star. The restaurant had plenty of seat but service for water and ordering were slow. We also had to help ourselves to utensils and place settings, since our assigned table just had plates. Food however was pretty good. Wife got the combo chicken and koobideh and both meats were juicy and well seasoned. I got the filet kabob cooked medium — not bad, but slightly under-seasoned and not as juicy. Should have gotten medium rare.

Amazing food, terrific service. A really cool place to grab a bottle of vino, order a bit of everything and chill out. Gotta check it out. Cheers

Came here last night for dinner. Food was okay. We’ve been to Oasis Bar & Grille in Pleasanton a handful of times and hubby and I both agreed it doesn’t compare to Oasis, but they are hard to live up to! Service was a bit slow but they only had one guy serving all the tables in the restaurant. Diet Coke tasted like bathroom faucet water was used in their soda machine. I expected that given the appearance of the restaurant when I walked in, and sure enough, that’s what I got. Good, but not fantastic enough for us to return to Danville for it.

It was a chilly Friday night and my boyfriend and I were craving Mediterranean-something warm and hearty but not too heavy. While we love our usual spots in Walnut Creek or Pleasant Hill, we decided to be more adventerous and sample new places in the coming year. Figuring that Danville wasn’t too far and Santorini has convenient parking in a shopping plaza, right off the freeway, it fit the bill just fine. Their menu is a variety of pastas, salads, kabob plates and flatbread, all with a Mediterranean flair. To start they provide you with a freshly warmed flat bread-it’s thin but slightly toasted and accompanied by a divine balsamic dip. We also opted for their hummus, which was also quite tastey. It was the perfect texture, flavor and consistency . My main course was the grilled vegetarian sandwich which included fresh peppers, zuchini, mushrooms, mozzarella and more of their yummy balsamic sauce. I opted to exclude the eggplant, which they were happy to do. It was truly delicious-well prepared, quality ingredients and not too heavy. My boyfriend enjoyed his chicken kabob platter with fresh veggies and saffron rice. Overall we felt it was a healthy meal that left us full but not overly stuffed. The interior gave off a cozy friendly vibe with obvious pride in the ownership’s roots in Greece. Everything from the murals to the wall décor to the counter staging area had Mediterranean flairs to them. They also seemed to have a nice patio area, which was closed due to the cold, but might be nice in warmer weather. Service was friendly and attentive, with a family type vibe given off by all the staff. I am so happy to have found this place and will definitely come back!

Called-in our order of chicken kebob dinner plates to go! Pros: –Juicy chicken –Clean –looking restaurant –Comes with free bread Cons: –Chicken was a little bland, had to put lots of lemon juice to make it tastier. –Cashier(lady) was helpful, but other gentleman was not & kept standing/staring at us without asking us to sit while we were waiting for our take-out… even when 90% of the tables were empty. –Portions on the smaller side. Probably won’t come back again, as there are other(better) Mediterranean and Greek restaurants nearby.
