In Danville for another event, we came in specifically for the Star Trek Spock and Kirk ornament and made a beeline for the ornament wall. Quickly helped by an associate who let us know the one on the wall was the last one in stock, they boxed it up and handed it to the honey while he shopped. SCORE. All in all this store was definitely smaller, and much more compressed than the Hallmark I was used to(Walnut Creek) but the service was quick(if not almost overly friendly), they had the ornament we wanted, and were willing to sell us the«floor model.» We left happy and excited they’d had it in stock. So yes, 5 stars for a great experience!

I cannot believe this store has had only 1 previous review. I enjoy the conversations I have with the owner. On Sunday, I went to the store to buy a Christmas ornament, but it was sold out. It was near closing, and the lady made me feel better by helping me select another ornament. She was very informative.

This Hallmark store has been in business for 20 years, but has changed ownership several times. The current owners have had it several years. They carry a nice selection of gift items, as well as cards, but not nearly as many as previously, due to downsizing the store. That part is ok, the whole economy has downsized. They usually try to get you to buy at least 3 cards(you get bonus Hallmark points at the 3 card level), however, I often am in a hurry and only want the one I want. They also check over a Hallmark coupon as if you are going to deceive them with an expired coupon or something! This happens every time – «oh, let’s see…» Recently I presented a coupon that had a 3 day period of use and I was using it the first day. She was ready to tell me it wasn’t valid when she realized it indeed was; always assuming that the customer is wrong just annoys me! I’ll probably just go into Safeway next door for future Hallmark cards; they have many more to choose from and don’t act like I’m trying to pull off using an invalid coupon! This has happened just too many times…
