Community Presbyterian Church -Job Connections program

This is a great network to be apart of for any job seeker out there. It’s a very good network and has speakers all around presenting. A great resource.
Another great things is that being apart of the CPC Job Connections account on Yahoo Groups, you get regular e-​mails with updates on new positions.

CPC Job Connections is an church sponsored community outreach that meets the needs of professionals in a career transition. Having recently visited several other groups in the Bay Area, it is by far the more polished and professionally put together format available.
While other organizations mean well, such as Experience Unlimited, Contra Costa County, for example, the obvious difference is that CPC Job connections orients people, and they do in fact move folks through the learning cycle quickly to employment. EUCCC, in contrast, has career job seekers who have been participants for over a year.
In other words, do you want a good job or do you want to «be a member «with a group of chronically unemployed individuals?
Additionally, Dean Tracy, the founder and a career coach, is right on in his presentations. It’s not a shot gun approach, what you learn is very concise, savvy and up to date and in line with what any top recruiter would tell you, for a hefty price.

The CPC’s job connections program is well-​known in the Bay Area as a strong professional network.
Newcomers– get there at 8:45am Sat — you will not be let into the 9am orientation if you are late (despite car crashes in the Caldecott, etc.).
The perk of attending the orientation is inclusion on the 3,000+ Yahoo groups email list of job listings, contact requests, etc.
9 – 10:30– general job hunting tips led by Dean. Today there were about 150 people there, mostly in their 50s and 60s, some in their 30s and 40s.
10:30−10:45– coffee break and open networking
10:45−11:45– speaker presentation
Networking afterward, and sometimes other workshops.
