Avid Home Theater

Very happy with the outstanding level of service from Avid. From Micah to the installers all of the equipment works better than advertised. I had previously used other companies and Avid is clearly the best. We won’t use anyone else going forward. I can’t recommend anyone else they are by far the best.

Well we bought a new home. We decided we were going to put in the so called Rolls Royce of a system, Crestron. We decided to also do Crestron shades. Micah at Avid was clearly unhappy. Well we started the Crestron install in early December. The Crestron team had been in and out of our house for over 6 months. It was the biggest nightmare. The job got so bad that the installer just could not get it right. They finally removed all there equipment and even the shades. The shades were warping with the heat of the sun. They couldn’t get shades to work right. This was after corporate sending there key people from New Jersey out at least 3 times. Finally after 6 months, Crestron and the installer agreed to give me back all monies. All there installation of wires etc remained.
I called Micah of Avid about 4 weeks ago. He put together an even more upscale system. He did my theater room and all my home automation. It took them roughly 1.5 weeks to complete the job. Remember Crestron was in my home for over 6 months. Micah did my job about 6 years ago. He was good then with maybe 3 employees. He now had like 12 employees. I walk out to my driveway and I see there big van with Avid on it. I look inside and the van is clean and organized. The 2 installers were so professional. They also kept my house very clean. Just good guys. When all the equipment was installed another group of 2 guys came in to do programming. The system is incredible. It is so easy to use. Micah is not the cheapest but I must tell you, it was well worth it.
The Crestron system kept loosing music streaming. Not one time with Control 4. The system is so much more seamless. Well I lived a Creston system and again Control 4. I actually believe the Contol 4 system is more robust and seamless. If you want a fantastic system and a great company Avid is it. I had spent well into the 6 figures with Crestron and actually spent somewhat more with Control 4. The beautiful thing is Avid is now out of my home. Crestron was here at least 30 times over 6 months.

Avid Home Theater exceeded my expectations. I tried to find a company who could mount my TV on wall with no cable/​wires showing. This task was more challenging than I thought it would be. When I met with the AVID team, they were so professional and assured me they could do the work I requested. It was no easy task because my cable was a mess and some was even bolted behind siding on my outside wall. There was never a time while they were working that I did not feel confident they would complete the job perfectly. Not only did they do a great job, they scheduled me on their calendar very quickly and showed up on time. The workers were knowledgeable and I was very confident they would do the job well. I highly recommend Avid Home Theater for your home theater needs. One more thing … even though my job was not as extensive as a lot of their projects, the team always made me feel like I was an important customer and they were determined to please me. Since my initial review of Avid home theater, I have had a number of additional improvements and equipment installed in my home by Avid Home Theater. This morning I came down and turned on my music on the digital streamer, and the volume control was not controlling the equipment properly. I called the store and left a message for Micah about the problem that I was currently having. I asked if they were something that he could do today in order to fix this problem? Within 15 minutes, I get a call from Micah asking me to try it again. It worked perfectly! He did a remote adjustment to my system from wherever he was, and quickly! This is the kind of professional company and service that you should want to install and maintain your audio/​video equipment. Once again I am reassured that I spent my money and time with the right company. Thank you Micah!

Avid corrected items that were installed poorly by other companies such as Magnolia, and Valley Home Threatre. I would recommend you give this company a shot so you don’t need to do things twice. Micah the owner is knowledgeable and there show room is awesome. His team of professionals understand the range of products and provide the best advice. Give them a shot and don’t use the others you will regret it.

I researched a few companies and finally selected Avid to do my home theatre and home automation. They are first class in what they do. The whole team including Micah, the owner, are really good at what they do. From assisting in picking the technology to actually wiring up the home is a great experience. If you want a white glove type of service don’t hesitate using Avid.

Planning to upgrade our home audio in the next year or so. Avid Home Theater in Danville has a beautiful showroom displaying quality audio products in a warm comfortable setting. Most impressed with the knowledge of their staff. They explained the products in a way I could understand and worked hard to show me products that would fit my financial needs. Looking forward to a sound system I’ll enjoy for years to come.

I just bought a system. It’s high end and I looked all over the bay area and even looked in Phoenix for a certain speaker. I wound up purchasing through Avid. The system sounds great. Simply put it’s fantastic. They took care after the sale with a few startup issues. I am satisfied. Could I have paid less? Absolutely. Would I have been happy with what I got? Nope. You get what you pay for.

Old is the new, new. Analog is the new digital. 2-​channel is genius.
If you’re in the area (or if you aren’t), stop by the Vine or Amber for a glass of wine and walk to Avid to have your mind blown. The listening room is chock full of drool worthy equipment: analog, digital, vacuum tubes…
I used them, before they had the store, for a small home system. In-​wall speakers and wall hung TV for my family room, ceiling speakers in my living room and outdoor speakers. It’s integrated with Sonos equipment. It’s basic enough that my 16 month old figured out how to turn on the country station, but sounds great.
Someday I hope to develop a very costly high-​fi habit. Till then I’ll just stop in, listen and dream…

Building a new house can be stressful and while looking for the different sub contractors that play their part, you need to find people that listen and work WITH you. While I really like Micah, his bid was absolutely ridiculous. I wasn’t going to talk to any other A/​V company however the second I got the push back from Micah when I voiced my thoughts, I became worried. He did not listen to what we wanted at all and when I addressed my concerns he became defensive with attitude. I was totally offended and put off. I have no doubt they would do a great job but listening and integrity play a huge part in keeping business. So I decided to call another very reputable A/​V company. I had a bid in less than 24 hours and with MORE equipment and with our wants and needs fully addressed, the bid was over $ 100,000 less. That speaks for itself in volumes.

I have to say that, while expecting a very professional job, these guys really exceeded my expectations. Beautiful, thoughtful work, great people, and a very satisfied customer. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Micah listened to my thoughts and ideas, and presented some great options I was not even aware of. He’s assembled a great team; they know their stuff!

Great place to get your home theater together and customize your a/​v needs. Very knowledgeable staff. If you like household gadgets, this is the place.

My husband and I shopped around for a long time before we chose Avid. Micah is a class act and has provided outstanding customer service. We were not very familiar with home stereo systems. We had a ton of questions, wanted good quality, but didn’t want to pay through the roof. Micah gave us multiple options for equipment, always explained the difference, and let us make the decision that best fit our budget. We had him install a Control 4 system. It has been great and Micah has come out on one day’s notice many times when we had an issue or couldn’t figure something out. His personal customer service is what differentiates him from other providers. If you want to talk to us directly about his service, tell Micah and we would be happy to be a reference for him. He is that good. I have never given that kind of endorsement for someone.

Micah was professional in every way from the initial interview with suggestions to the final installation. The workmenship was flawless and the final system exceptional. He sets the standard that all homeowners wish contractors would follow. It doesn’t get any better.

Micah came out and surveyed our family room and interviewed us. His service intention is to give the client the best system based on their personal likes and financial budget. He made great suggestions and once the system was installed it exceeded our expectations.
When people see our set-​up they are impressed at how great it looks and sounds.

We interviewed a few home theatre people and all they wanted to do was sell us their products. Micah was different. He looked at what we had, figured out how to integrate into a working system, then offered us choices on the missing pieces. Smart thinking. We could not be happier and he’s so nice to work with.

Micah did our theater room, family room and the other bedrooms in the house… we have been really happy. The surround sound still freaks me out sometimes, it sounds so real. It’s been 2 years, we’ve had no problems, his work has been perfect, and he’a s really nice guy. His prices were cheaper than the others around. He also did our speakers outside by the pool. I would recommend him to anyone… if my family lived here and not in Texas, he would be doing their houses, as well.

Ok, not only did this guy complete the most flawless looking home theater, the sound and video integration surpassed my expectations. The equipment I purchased was VERY reasonable, but the extra programming that Micah completed on my house was phenomenal. He is a true craftsman, that goes the full extent in dialing in the audio system to the most perfect settings.
All the equipment is hidden in my tiny 3 bedroom 2 bath house, which is a huge plus.
