Wow old fashion healthy for your hair rollers including the net to keep it all in place and sit under the dryer. A few professional touches from the owner and its perfectly delicious. Its been 5 days and i still have yummy waves in my hair. I recommend this salon for great hair styling. First time here so i have not done any dying or cutting. Enjoy.

I searched Unilocal for a Dominican blowout salon, because I’m an African American with natural hair, and had two events for which I wanted my hair straight. I called for a last minute appointment, and got there a few minutes later. She welcomed me, washed me(a great wash, BTW), and I went under the dryer with a deep conditioner while she worked on her other client. We had a great chat, and she was nice, but I was there to get my hair done, not make best friends, so that only counts for 1 star, in my book. After three and a half loooooong hours, I was done, and I was pleased with my hair, until I got four miles down the road, looked in the mirror, and saw that my hair had puffed up from root to tip, like I didn’t just spend $ 76, plus a $ 15 tip, plus an extra $ 20 for my child’s late night care. Devastated. If you are a natural, I recommend you visit ANYWHERE but here. I’d also posted that I was trying this salon out on Facebook, and got several responses that they had similar experiences. I did call the salon, sent pictures of my hair, and was asked me to come back so she could see it. I was not driving back across town to have her«look» at my hair, after $ 100, I couldn’t trust myself, and had an important meeting Friday and a busy weekend, which is why I got my hair done in the first place. Disappointed I did NOT immediately get an offer to redo it … oh well. I strongly suggest they take a look at their products and technique before doing another blowout on naturally curly hair. I suspect she used water based styling products after the blowout. I also strongly suggest they look at what the market is charging for a blowout and conditioner, which is $ 35-$ 40. Mireyas is too expensive, for sure. I found another Dominican stylist Monday, paid $ 35 for a blowout, and my hair is bone straight, and has lasted beautifully so far. No shrinkage, no reversion ATALL, even in this humidity. And, BTW, I requested an appointment for a redo, and because I’m fair, and strongly believe in second chances, I’m going back in a few weeks. I will go, however with my own products. Update you all then.

I live in Toronto but went on vacation to Fort Lauderdale. As a Dominican, I was looking for a Dominican salon and Mireya was highly recommended by my sister-in-law. My first impression of the salon was sooo professional and well decorated(which makes you feel comfortable). Mireya is a very dedicated hair stylist. She really takes care of your hair’s health and provides professional recommendation on how to maintain your hairstyle after leaving the salon. One thing I really liked is she is not trying to sell you extra stuff, she is just willing to do her job… extraordinarily well! I highly recommend her.

The first time I met Mireya and she fixed my hair I immediately liked her. She is great and knows how to cut and fix hair! Her place is so clean, she is so well mannered and pleasant. It was a very nice experience and I certainly will be going to her from now on. I have even recommended her to my sister who has very tricky hair and is very particular. Good job Mireya… Congratulations! Josie, Ft. Lauderdale
