I first want to say the food and service are great but I’m not exactly sure what was recently renovated.
I came here on a Groupon which was graciously accepted and what we could get was fully explained by the server.
As for the items we had the Broiled Seafood Platter & the veal Valdastana
Excellent size portions with good flavour and freshness. The décor reminds me of something you might see in Queens, Howard Beach location so don’t be surprised.

I went to nicks yesterday and our waiter was very nice. Also the bread you get is the best every time, order the bread you won’t be disappointed. We ordered fried calamari and we they were huge, so that was a plus. I got vodka sauce and it was so good I’m going to finish it today for lunch.

Been going here for 25 years. Danbury has changed and become very commercial, but Nick’s is worth a visit, as is the entire downtown area. This is what the typical neighborhood Italian restaurant was like… but you can still enjoy it today.

Awful service on an average night. It wasn’t like they got slammed with dozens of patrons; that I could understand. I’ve been to to tony restaurants where the service is indifferent and sometimes chilly and they figure you’re lucky to have gotten a reservation. This is not that sort of place — by a long shot. I always tip generously. It angered me though that they would automatically tack on a 25% (after tax) gratuity for the six of us. The service was horrible. I would rather get up and get my own fork, or water than incur the wrath of the woman who ‘waited’ our table. And there is no way I would ever return a meal, God only knows what would come back out.

My family has been eating here for more than 20 years and everything we have ordered has been great. From the pizza to the entrees, whether its takeout or dine in, you can’t go wrong with Nick’s Italian food.

A gem in the form of a small Italian restaurant. Loved the food and the service was great. The veal special was to die for. Can’t really beat this place in terms of quality… you just have to find it.

We did our pre-​wedding dinner here with our bridal party and family and it was delicious!
I called last minute to get tables for 25 people and Nick’s was very accommodating. They were even able to have pizzas ready for us when we got there since we were on a tight schedule.
I love pizza. I get a bit snobby about it (see my review of Mozzarellis). Nick’s makes great pizza. At first I was confused when they put out what appeared to be nothing but cheese pizzas. I was like «WTF, Nick’s? Where’s my pepperoni at?» But then my wife to be pointed out that the pepperoni was under the cheese. OH. SNAP. Nick’s just took things to a new level.
Nick’s is some of the best pizza, nay, the best food I have had in Connecticut. I highly recommend it.
