Great staff. Clean restaurant and bathrooms. Great priced food for a small local diner. Would absolutely recommend.

This was an ok breakfast place. The diner was very cute and clean. The food was just ok. Home fries were mushy not crispy. The scrambled eggs were over cooked and my omelet was flat. I wouldn’t go out of my way.

Absolutely a fantastic place! Corned beef hash was the best I’ve ever had. Crispy, no fillers, all meat and not salty at all. Corn muffins as big as your hand, grilled with butter… omg. Service was excellent, host was super friendly, bathroom was spotless. Will DEFINITELY return!

Really nice, quality, old fashioned diner. They have a delightful menu that isn’t a thousand pages long, focusing more on quality. Reasonably priced and very friendly staff, pie and baked goods and stainless steel old timey milkshake mixers to boot. I have high standards for diners and this place is the real deal.

Love the Holiday — used to come here way back when it was a greasy spoon — new owners have cleaned it up — good, solid diner food and the owners care about their customers and rhe quality of your meal.

New Holiday Diner is the quintessential diner, and very close to perfect! The interior is a nice blend of classic diner styling with fresh modern materials and color, all well-kept and impeccably clean. The service was friendly and pleasant: we were greeted and seated immediately and our server was pleasant and timely… mostly. We must have upset our server’s rhythm by asking to wait to order until the rest of our party arrived. Our friend came, gave her drink order and then we all became invisible for quite some time despite flailing our arms in vane. I don’t think it was intentionally, just failure to look around. The food is in the upper tier of this genre. We had mostly breakfast items: the homemade corned beef hash is a pleasant surprise compared to the #10 can you’ll find at your average diner; sunny-side up eggs were right on the mark and a Georgia Red Hot made a nice change from typical breakfast sausage. I ordered and American cheese omelet in a fit of nostalgia. Cooked on a flat-top, it was thin and a little dried out but pretty much what I expected. The«breakfast potatoes» add bulk and make the large plates look full in the American tradition but are nothing to get excited about. I ordered a chocolate egg cream after spotting them on the fountain menu since they’re pretty uncommon in Connecticut: it was refreshing and well-presented. The only other non-breakfast item was my friend’s plate of cheese fries: I’m afraid they looked a little sad and she didn’t finish them. Small weaknesses aside, if you like diners you’ll find New Holiday a solid value: clean, friendly and pleasant with classic diner fare at a moderate price.

Went around 1030 on a Sunday morning. It was busy but we were seated after having to wait for only a minute. The service was quick. Ordered eggs Florentine, the girlfriend ordered eggs Benedict. I loved the eggs Florentine, good amount of feta. My gf thought hers was good too but preferred a slightly less cooked egg. The price was alright, slightly higher than another diner I’m used to going to but not very much difference. Clean dining area and bathrooms. Good experience.

Just yummy!!! I judge by their Egg’s Benedict and I tried their version with tomatoe and bacon and it was very tasty and their home fries are great. Finally a place that does not burn the bacon or have it sitting in fat — crispy enough. We found our new breakfast spot.

So this my first Unilocal review .This place was close to my house and I decided to help a local business so I came in .I ordered pancakes and eggs, which were just like any traditional diner. However the glass they gave me for water was just dirty .on top of that there was like a big strand of grey hair in my pancake .When i told the server, her response was«well this sure ain’t mine«.i don’t like giving bad reviews but if I don’t someone else will. Merry Xmas.

The New Holiday is a great diner. Very clean, great service, and the food is better than most diners. We swung in on one of our trips through town, en route to Vermont, and it will become our morning stop when we overnight. Prices are solid, omelettes are excellent, salsa has a kick. A keeper.

Inviting atmosphere, great staff and good food! Very welcoming and, by my third visit, they had my coffee waiting for me as I arrived.

I had a problem a few years back with one of the managers, but I hear that he’s gone. Changing my review.

One of the friendliest businesses in the area, The corn beef hash is made in house, tastes great. The staff is personable, extremely cordial, helpful, and never rush you out. This is also one of the only places in the area that lets you sit where you want to sit.

Apparently when you order a hot sandwich on white here it’s on white sandwich bread. I wish I’d known that or I would have gotten mine on a roll. Service & staff were okay, though. Seems decent though I didn’t get much of a sense of ambiance. Convenient if you’re in this area & parking isn’t too bad.

Hmm well… Not bad. Eggs were done perfectly, bacon was really strange. The pancakes were ok, they were yellow which is nothing except not a usual color for a pancake. The taste also not bad just a little different. All in all decent food for the price. For $ 7.992 pancakes 2 eggs bacon and(yes AND) sausage the and is not a normal option in most bfast places we visit. Service was ok, average maybe a little below. My wife added blueberries to her pancakes and the up-charge wasnt explained, not awful because it is standard for add ons to cakes. Just would have been nice to know the price before hand.

Always hot, always prompt, always good. Awesome breakfast spot! As diners go, this is a great place to get a good hot breakfast! Service is fast, kitchen is right on with orders. Even when busy, Sunday mornings, this place is working like a finely tuned engine!!!

This was the response from the owner. I was very impressed by how much he cared. His response is 5+. «Hi Richard, My name is George Psarofagis and my family owns the New Holiday Diner in Danbury. I read your review and I want to apologize for what happened. Long story short you were overcharged. We do charge extra for toppings in the pancakes but the waitress was misinformed and charged you for the Turkey sausage when she shouldn’t have. I’ll take the blame for that because I should have made it more clear to my staff. And I also I want to apologize that they were burnt. Your waitress should have known better and offered you something else. I’ll take the blame for that as well because I should obviously be training my staff better than that. I realize an apology doesn’t exactly nullify a bad meal or a bad experience and I’m sure you’re not particularly interested in how I train my staff but I felt that you were owed an explanation. Your profile says you’re from Plainville and I’m not sure how often you come to Danbury but I’d like to make it up to you somehow. At the very least I owe you for what you were overcharged, but I’d like to do more than that. Again I apologize for what happened. Please give us another shot. Thank you, George»
