The food here is decent enough and we’ve ordered food them before and it was fine. .However… I ordered on EAT24 tonight and never received a confirmation from an email(which I always get when I use this app.) So I called the restaurant to see if they actually got my order. The woman that answered the phone could not have been ruder. Her basic response was«why you call me! «When I tried to explain«why you call me?“she basically hung up on me. So rude. I will never order from this place again. You are in the food SERVICE industry! Act like it.

It is a strange thing to find excellent sushi in a mall. Kusulyn really stood out, even in a sea of dining options with everything from Chipotle to red lobster right next door. Sushi was reasonably priced and extremely fresh. Good service and the owner was very friendly. I will be back!

First of all I thought I would take my kids out(3 of us) without spending over $ 100. So I purchased this groupon. Accidentally the dinner for 4. The staff told us to spend 20 extra and I could use it, fine I did. We sat down to a disgusting swarm of FLIESANDNATS! Annoying I got us and moved… they were all over! Then the waitress made my kids a special drink that was EXTREMLY sugary. I explained that it was ALOT of sugar and milk, she took them and never offered to make something less sweet. The food was horrible, and we are huge hibachi eaters. HORRIBLE. We had lunch STILL fighting off the flies. The bill comes and I explained to the waiter that my daughter barley took two sips and it was too sweet. He replied, sorry u order u pay, even tho it was recommended!!! My bill was $ 105! They took off $ 60 and I still paid 55+ tip for horrible service and BUGS! I still left a very small tip despite the poor Buisness etiquette! I did not get my money’s worth on this groupon. You really need to check into your merchants!!! I’m disgusted to say the least! SHAME! And I still paid 85 for 3 people! SAVEYOURMONEY!

I had an impromptu dinner while shopping at the mall with my wife. We both ordered from the Bento box menu and were surprised at the portion size. We both were stuffed after eating and took leftovers home. Service was attentive and fast. I thought the food was excellent, but my wife was less impressed and would have given them three stars. We agreed that it was not a restaurant that we would plan for a special occasion but would probably visit again when already at the mall.

Their bento boxes cannot be beat! Tuna Amazing and Out of Control rolls are more than a little special. Way better than just standard mall faire.

The food was great. I love the atmosphere. My one and only issue is their seating. I went with a group so we wanted a booth chair towards the back of the restaurant. They told us it wasn’t available, although no one was sitting there. Through our dinner, many of the workers sat there to eat their lunch. I guess they like to leave it free for a place to eat their lunch,

Very very very very bad service! I called to order food to deliver and I had. Horrible service! They were super rude! I hang up the phone and didn’t order! If the impression I got on the phone is horrible I wonder what’s going to happen if I go to their restaurant!

Nice sashimi, fresh nice presentation. Kani salad in a martini glass is pretty good but needs a little heat to make it right. The have silly things like chicken nuggets on the menu for some reason. Rolls are good and they have bubble tea if you’re into that. The service is snappy. Good for lunch on a day at the mall.

Super fast service, great food, and the staff made it a point to make my 3 year old feel welcome. I will come back again and again.

My mom found this place on and we came here for dinner on a Saturday night. As a vegan, I appreciated that they have a vegetarian section of their menu. My mom ordered the pad thai, and I opted for the broccoli in garlic sauce(extra spicy). I liked the fact that a salad came with the meal(even though raw veggies, especially salad, is very anti genuine Asian cooking), and my mom and I both upgraded to the avocado salad. When our food came, I thought it looked delicious. But after eating the top layer of broccoli, I realized the«garlic sauce» they claimed was more like a very greasy teriyaki sauce with minced garlic in it. I ended having to drain the entire bottom layer of broccoli around the rim of my plate because the sauce was so overwhelming, and my mom laughed at how ridiculous it looked. At one point, one partially submerged broccoli floret made me realize just how much sauce there was and how thick the layer of oil on top was… Needless to say that lonely veggie was abandoned.(Pics attached are not for those with weak stomachs… Looking at them makes me want to gag.) Normally I eat at least two bowls of rice. Unfortunately, asking for brown rice instead of white is an extra $ 2.00 and an extra bowl of rice on top of the one that comes with the entrée is also $ 2.00. So basically, if I’d wanted an extra bowl of brown rice, I would have had to pay $ 4.00. Kind of ridiculous considering that would have been half the price of my whole entrée. The salad was probably the best part of the meal for me.(We had it brought at the end of the meal as a palate cleanser.) The house ginger dressing was delicious, but I wish I’d asked them to put it on the side to control the amount I’d be eating. The service here was okay but I felt like water refills tapered off towards the end of the meal, which is when I need them the most. In retrospect, I think they charged us the full price of the avocado salad rather than just the upgrade, but I included the receipt in one of the pictures to get a sense of the prices. Oh, and don’t order bubble tea here — unless you don’t care that it’s made from a powder. Other than the exorbitant rice pricing, they’re reasonable but the caveat is that the food is not healthy(even if you just order veggies) and predictably not authentic.

The bubble tea and red snapper bento box which I ordered with brown rice was really good. And the avocado salad were all top notch. If you are in the danbury mall it is right next to red robin. Enjoy the spring rolls or maybe even a Maki Roll which is delicious. You wont be disappointed.

Here’s a little back story on Koo before I dive into my review of Kusulyn: I’ve been to Koo twice and both times my experience wasn’t too great. The first time I felt like I paid way more for the entrée I ordered, not to mention they charged my card twice accidentally and I had to pay an overdraft fee at my bank, even though I got the amount reimbursed a week later. The second time I ordered a spicy sushi platter which included spicy salmon and spicy tuna, but instead it was more like tuna and salmon rolls respectively with a small drop of the spicy mayo on top. Fun stuff. I haven’t been to Koo since because of this, but I figured I’d give them another chance with Kusulyn(since they’re the same owners). To start off, the host was great. He sat us down in a booth and recommended the bubble tea they offer, as well as their best selling flavors. Wasn’t aware that Japanese restaurants serve bubble tea, but I’m not complaining since it’s usually very good. The atmosphere was a little dark, but it fit the mood well and I had no problem with it. The sushi bar is stationed near the front of the restaurant with televisions above it displaying whatever sport is popular for the day. I have to say, because of my experience at Koo, I sided away from having sushi this time. I also haven’t had a Japanese bento box in quite some time(probably since Izumi was open if any of you know where that was). I chose the Spare Ribs Box with the soup and fried rice. For the price they charge, the amount of food that comes with it is pretty reasonable. It’s about $ 9 for the Spare Ribs Box($ 10 if you get fried rice) which comes with soup OR salad, two spring rolls, your main entrée, broccoli, a couple pieces of California roll, and which ever rice you choose. The food also came out fairly quickly, so if you work in the mall and you’re jammed for time on your break, you’ll be fine if you sit down to eat here. The food overall was as I expected. The ribs weren’t bad, but I felt like there wasn’t enough to keep me satisfied. They were also drenched in an orange based sauce which kind of killed it for me. The broccoli was surprisingly good and seemed to be marinated in a watered down soy sauce/teriyaki mixture, pretty good stuff(not being sarcastic, it was actually pretty solid). The spring rolls were more or less what you expect and the California roll pieces were… well…California roll pieces haha. The fried rice was just okay, but I’m glad it wasn’t dominated by soy sauce like most fried rice dishes are. All in all, Kusulyn is just alright. I’d like to come back here for sushi at some point just to give it a shot, but that’s about it.

Came here last night with my girlfriend to grab some sushi… omg it was amaaaazing. Same owners as Koo at the Lake in Danbury so if you’re a fan of that place, you’ll love this. Wide selection on the menu(more than koo), the sushi was delicious and very fresh. Love the décor and bar lighting, all brand new and really nice! Friendly staff and great service, although it’s a little dark in the main dining area. Can’t wait to go back to try more… definitely recommend!

Went yesterday, there were three of us and immediately we noticed this business is connected to Koo. I am not a fan of Koo, but I decided it would be worth a shot to stay at Kusulyn, as there isn’t another hibachi/sushi place in the mall. I ordered the Sirloin Hibachi and a special roll, the Wet Kiss. My gf ordered the General Tso’s Bento Box and a Philly Roll, our friend ordered the three roll combo(an assortment that I don’t really remember other than a shrimp tempura and something with tuna). I always get my steak medium rare and unfortunately it came out medium but I dealt with it instead of being a snob, but it was good. The vegetables were steamed and I had to mix them in with the steak and teriyaki that they provided on the plate. There was also a small portion of white rice and noodles. They were not hibachi noodles though, this upset me the most. They used standard chinese lo mein noodles :-(The flavor was good, I still don’t understand putting carrots in hibachi and the noodles it’s just not a flavor I like in my asian food. The sushi was really fresh and delicious, surprisingly a lot better than Koo. I would stop in again for sushi but I stick to Ichiro for Hibachi! My company was pleased with their dishes and the staff was very attentive. *Kusulyn does not do tableside/open flat top hibachi, it is all made in the back in a kitchen so there’s not entertainment value either. It is cheaper and prices for bento boxes, roll combos and hibachi are great! Prices on special rolls are just as expensive as anywhere else, for a mall joint I thought they might be cheaper, but it is definitely worth it as they have different rolls than their parent company.
