Desert Moon

Apparently the DESERT MOON in the Backus Square Mall CLOSED or relocated because I am eating at TUSCANERO’S & the MOON is vacant. But that’s my rating from when it was open

So fresh! This place is great for a mall food court, and the prices are great as well. Their hot salsa is really different and super fresh, and their guacamole is amazing!
The staff is always really nice and very accommodating — love going here!

This place blows chipotle out of the water. Burrito is well over a pound consistently.

Best place to eat at the Danbury food court, big portions, fair prices and the food is good. We eat here on a very regular basis and have never been disappointed.

Looking forward to simple fresh food. Ordered tossed salad with chicken, and I couldn’t wait for my salad. What I got was the dregs of the last batch of chicken– dried out pieces that were scraped from the bottom of the tin. The worker then went in back and got the new batch– large chunks of chicken that looked fresh. I requested the fresh chicken for my salad instead of the dregs. The worker was rude, didn’t respond to me and over the shoulder told the manager. The manager said no, without even looking at the chicken. «We can’t waste that salad, it’s already made». Since I already paid I took it. It was horrible and I had to «waste the salad» on my dime
Why a store can’t throw out bad looking chicken rather than serve it and ruin a reputation is beyond me.

Better than the free standing location on Mill Plain Road in Danbury, which is silly since this one is in a mall.

Definitely the best fast Mexican food in the area. I wouldn’t call it fast food, even though the service is fast, because the food is great. To someone who hasn’t been here before, I would describe it as a Chipotle with a bigger menu. And they have alcohol!

It’s mall food. It is not bad for what it is. There is plenty of parking and a lot of shopping to be done.

This is ‘THE’ place to go for good, fresh, fast Mexican food. The portions are generous and tasty. Service is super and the employees are always nice. The price is right and on top of it all, chips and salsa are complimentary. The kicker is the Coke machine.

I think I’m the only one who prefers dessert moon to Chipotle. The taco platter here is my favorite. 2 tacos, rice and beans and chips… :)

Ate a the place in the Danbury, CT mall and was hugely disappointed. My order didn’t even remotely taste fresh, but rather like it had been defrosted that morning, especially the grilled veges which tasted bland, soggy, and not fresh. Hard not to compare this place to Chipoltle, which is always fresh. Staff wasn’t as friendly as Chipotle folks either — had sour looks on their faces.

Love the chicken kickers. Nice little meal and not to bad for you if you ax the blue cheese.

Typical mall food, nothing really exciting, but it is better than most mall options.
