I went there for a dinner date with my husband and loved the food. The sushi and sashimi are fresh and tasty — no frozen taste. Would def recommend it.

Rude staff, throws bowls on table. Went for hibachi. Manager not on site. Tip added by default for garbage service… Save money and your evening go to a better place. This place has severe attitude problems

TL;DR DONTGOHEREIFYOUHAVE A GROUPON Yeah I would give it 0 stars if I could. For real. The service was terrible!!! My boyfriend and I had a groupon and we were treated like shit. It took them almost half an hour for us to order our dinner.(We had hibachi). They asked us FIVEFREAKINGTIMES if we wanted an apatizer and had to say no each time and ask if we could order our main course. It’s been an hour and a half and I’m still here now waiting for my check. I was forced to give them a 18% «gratuity. I wish I could give them 0 tip!!! The couple across from us got here an hour after us and left at the same time.

This place is a lot of fun. Usually less busy than the other hibachi places in town however the food is really good. Check out groupon for good deals :)

Bambu is my favorite place to go for sushi in the Danbury area. I started going to there years ago, but since they have changed ownership they have improved tremendously. I typically order the Sushi /Sashimi combo, or the India & Nauroto rolls. Those two rolls are a nice mix because the India role is a delicious roll with spicy mayo, fried banana, and the Nauroto roll is a refreshing cucumber roll with salmon and tuna on the inside. It creates a nice balance. The menu is creative, the flavors are delicious, the sushi chefs and managers are extremely friendly and it is always a very pleasant experience to go and sit at the sushi bar. I also always appreciate the complementary Kani salad with mango which the sushi chef gives the customers at the sushi bar while they are waiting for their meal; That is a nice touch. I enjoy Bambu about once a week and love bringing friends and business associates with me.

Always love going to Bambu. They give you huge pieces of fish with their sushi and always serve you quickly.

Unfortunately I need to update my 4 star review as my coworkers and I ate Bambu every Wednesday for 11 weeks but whose counting! We used the whole 3 strikes your out rule and unfortunately the last strike was a small bone in the hibachi chicken meal. First strike was inconsistency in each rolls description, second strike was a pebble? Or something of that nature in a roll and yes unfortunately it was found the hard way. For those reasons we will no longer be dining at Bambu.

Me and my coworkers ate here every Wednesday for 11 weeks, trying different special rolls each time. We ran into various issues early on in our venture yet pressed on to finish our detailed and expansive sushi rating excel spreadsheet. While fun and a nice break to our day, the numerous order errors added up. The final straw was finding a chicken bone one week and another hard bone of unknown origin the next. While painful, we realize many relationships must end for others to begin.

Last Saturday, I was with a group of nine family members for my nephew’s 10th birthday. Obviously, a hibachi restaurant would not be my first choice for a dining experience on a Saturday night, but this is where the kid wanted to go. After being seated 20 minutes after our 7:00pm reservation, we had been at the table less than one minute when the server came around and asked us if we knew what we wanted to order. Really? This was the first sign that the only thing that this restaurant cares about is turning its tables. After being rushed through a marginal meal, prepared by our Mexican chef(so much for authenticity), the check was slammed on our table. We were not even asked if we wanted dessert. My nephew was crushed as he was expecting a birthday cake. The manager came over when he saw that we were getting agitated, and he said and I quote, «We need this table; you need to leave.» Wow. When we explained that it was my nephew’s birthday, he said that we could all move to another table and order it there. Again. Wow. After dropping over $ 400 on crap food, we were literally being rudely evicted from our table. Then when my nephew started to cry, he offered to bring us some cake. What my nephew received was a cold piece of chocolate cake that had barely thawed. Mind you, none of the rest of us were provided with any cake or dessert. Simply amazing. There are plenty of decent hibachi places, but sadly this is NOT one of them. I suggest that you avoid this dump at all costs. You’ve Been Warned!

A fine place for modern Asian cuisine, famous for their Hibachi. I tried the Blackened Tuna as a starter, and the Filet Mignon & scallop hibachi as main. The flavours were amazing and the scallops & beef seared to perfection. The hibachi comes with vegetables, noodles & optional additional fried rice, so the portion is huge & easily shared between two.

I love this place. It’s our go to place for sushi and hibachi. I love it so much I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed it yet. The food is always fresh. They always have interesting rolls to try as a special. If you like crab and jalapeño try the Hawaiian roll. It’s not on the menu but awesome. Great selection of sushi and sashimi. Highly recommend the spicy edamame. The hibachi guys are always entertaining. And I like that this place doesn’t get loud and crazy like Ichiro. Our favorite though is to eat at the bar. Best bartenders in town are Nate and Bobbi. They are so friendly, can manage a crazy bar while still talking to everyone like they’ve been friends forever. And it’s always a fun scene. Just a fantastic atmosphere with amazing food.

Years ago at this location I had my first experience with hibachi and as a young teenager thought it was the coolest thing ever. This restaurant has been through several changes since and I had not been back in years. As I got older I got a bit bored with hibachi as I discovered the wonderful world of sushi. Last week I came back to check out the current incarnation of this old Danbury staple and was pleasantly surprised by both the hot and cold food. Dining out with my 2 brothers who are also fans of Asian food we decided to start with some sushi and have hibachi for dinner. We ordered some sushi ala carte and found it to be very fresh and tasty. For dinner we all had filet combos, mine with scallops my brothers had lobster tail. I think we all agreed that the scallops were more flavorful and tender than the lobster but everything was really good and prepared by a skilled and entertaining chef. Only draw back was that despite having draft beer(a plus) the IPA I ordered seemed to be a bit old so to follow up i ordered a can of Japanese beer and it was fine. In my opinion this is the place to come if you want good Hibachi in the area.

I went here the other night on a suggestion from two different coworkers because they said the sushi was absolutely fantastic. I definitely was not disappointed! First of all their service is top notch… Very nice and attentive. Second of all the presentation of their sushi was off the charts. Third of all the taste and quality of their food was so good I went back twice in one week while I was here for a business trip. The ambience was very nice except for Saturday night which is karaōke night so I can get quite loud. Recommend this place to everyone!

Average sushi restaurant. Went here for happy hour which was a pretty decent deal. $ 5 apps and cheap drinks. The interior décor was nice and made a good atmosphere. They have an outdoor patio which is nice especially in the summer on a cool night. You only get to look at traffic but hey, at least you have a drink in your hand and your not sitting in that traffic. I’d probably go back and give it another try, place was clean.

For a while, I stopped coming to Bambu due to the lack of quality in their sushi and just average happy hour specials. I honestly think their happy hour was the only thing keeping the previous owner in business since it was a pretty reasonable price for a massive Sapporo, among other pours. I went on hiatus for a bit, but then heard about them under new management. My buddy invited me to stop by for a drink this past weekend, so I figured I could give Bambu a second chance. The vibe when you walk in was definitely different than it once was. The lighting was something I noticed first, which bode well with the classy barlike feel, I thought that’s what they were going with at happy hour at least. Everything just felt so warm, but that could also be because it’s the holidays, things just felt better. One of my friends from high school bartends there and of course the night I go he’s bartending, pretty nice to catch up for a bit. Along with the reasonable beer specials at Bambu, my friend also made a mean old fashioned with Bookers, one of my favorite bourbons. I also ordered a miso soup and a spicy tuna roll since I met up with the friend who invited me and few other friends I haven’t seen in a while. Food wasn’t bad, even though the miso soup was a bit watery. All in all, the new management really brought out the good in Bambu. I can see myself coming back for happy hours here and there.

The sushi here was fantastic! We had the pearl roll(it had fried oysters inside and pink seaweed. I think it was pickled). They were delicious! We also tried an eel roll and a mackerel roll. These were good but the pearl roll was better. The staff was very friendly, the ambience was nice(the rooms were very dark with mood lighting). Side note– they do have a kids menu but it is Very dark and there was a bar right next to our table. I’m not sure I’d take kids.
