A very simple but great place for a meal. We had lunch at this wonderful local café; the food was fresh, wonderful and very reasonably priced. The service was 1st class and the place was very cozy. Will come back every time we are in the area. Just wish they served beer.

My comrade and I were out traveling in the backwoods of Utah giving presentations at local elementary schools one afternoon in February of this past year. We had our eyes peeled for a little local joint to grab some lunch at, and we saw the Red Dog Café — and we couldn’t resist. It was one of the best local stops I’ve ever made! I had an open faced Chili Cheeseburger that you simply had to eat with a fork — there would have been no way I could have gotten my hands through all of the good stuff on top! My friend had a BLT without the B since she’s a vegetarian — and substituted fresh avocado in there. Her dish came with potato salad — it was good — but my fries were way better. The capstone? Her meal came with a fresh piece of pie, and I couldn’t resist. She got a chocolate cream pie that was unreal — it had this tinge of butterscotch through it… mmmmmmmm! I had a piece of Blueberry Cheesecake that was also darn good. All in all — if you’re ever 15 miles north of St. George headed towards sightseeing at Mountain Meadows(the site of a famous massacre during the pioneer days) or towards any place in southwestern Utah, you’ve GOTTA stop at the Red Dog Café.
