This is where I order last minute lumpia for potlucks. I’m one of those last minute people that figure out what I need to bring the day of. oops! Anyhow, I can count on Nick’s to fulfill my order short notice. I usually call the day before or the morning of. I try to give at least 4 hours the day of. They never disappoint. I’ll order about 100 – 150 pieces for around $ 30 +. In my opinion, that’s reasonable. Also, it’s always a potluck favorite. It’s always gone first! The ladies at Nick’s that I speak with are always pleasant and are also very nice in person when I pick up my order. I will continue to order here for lumpia.

Catering is amazing. Food is amazing and they came right on time with a minute to spare. Pricing is really good too. Ordered lumpiang shanghai and it was crispy and tasty. Pancit malabon was amazing, not just all noodles like other places. Dinuguan was so good and they gave you more tender meat unlike other places that gave you so much fat. The leche flan was the best leche flan I’ve ever tasted. Very happy that I found a place I can order food for special occasions. Definitely will buy from here again. Their service and food are definitely worth it.

Delicious. But extremely hearty, so you need to be in the mood for that. This place gets the white boy stamp of approval. Sweet people, old world prices, and great food. Their food(and Filipino food in general) reminds me of authentic Southern home cooking. Simple, slow-cooked dishes go a long way with me, and their stewed and grilled meats with the fried eggs and garlicky rice really hit the spot. I wish restaurants were like this still, and Nick’s and the neighborhood really have something to hold onto. I always feel relieved and fortunate to find daily spots like this that aren’t ripping people off with artisanal bakery prices and mediocre quality. I recently read somewhere that consumer spending is said to be stable or down in virtually every category except food and beverage, where folks are typically paying upwards of 50% more in the recent year period. With the increasingly obnoxious menus I see, I definitely believe it. So buck the trend, and pay a fair price to visit a great family restaurant like Nick’s. I hope to be back soon.

We have been a customer of Nicks for many years. We only order their bbqs during parties to save ouselves from the tedious job of grilling.(we don’t care for any other food(mediocre and quality is sub par) because it really gives shame to our Filipino Cuisine. We phone ordered 2 trays of chicken & pork bbq for delivery and got a total bill of $ 218. A lady delivered the trays and gave a piece of paper enlisting $ 272.50 I asked why the big difference from the total amount given to me over the phone, and she responded to me saying«i don’t know, i just deliver. Don’t you have money to pay for it?!» with a look of disgust on her face! I replied and said, i do but i have the right to question why i am paying more. To make the long story short, i paid for the additonal $ 66.50 because i was planning to talk to Nick’s management instead of talking to this lady who’s only response is «she doesn’t know». I handed her a $ 300 bill and didn’t give me my $ 27.50 change. Of course with her attitude, I asked for my change(no tip for her nasty attitude) and she said that she doesn’t have any change. So i rummage thru my wallets(She even had the guts to tell me that i was taking«too long» to look thru my wallet when in fact it probably took a minute for me to look and find for the exact amount that i needed to pay her since she doesn’t carry any change.) I found $ 75, so i handed that to her and she gave me my $ 100 back. With Nick’s mediocre food and the poor customer service we received, I wouldnt mind driving & ordering from Isla or Chibog instead!

Their catering for filipino food cannot be beat. We were going with an aquintance because we wanted to support her business. How much she was quoting per person seems so unreasonable. I didn’t want to disrespect her by asking for a «friend discount» but would like her lower her price if she could. I know she has gone WAY lower than what she quoted me. It was a struggle with her until the week of our event. Thanks goodness Nick’s Kitchen saved the day. The price, the freshness, taste, the customer service were all on point. Oh and they are on time! My family and I were setting up for my daughter’s baptism and I thought to myself, «ok everything’s almost in place all we need is the food.» And on que I heard a banging on the back door and my cousin opened it. In come Hermie(the owner). I screamed and gave her a hug like she was my best friend. She laughed so hard and screamed back. I said«You’re on time! I LOVETHAT!» She said of course. Our older generation Filipinos are hard to impress and they were all impressed with how much food and how well everything tasted. Thank you Nick’s Kitchen for making this special moment for my family an easy transaction. They prove just because someone’s your friend someone else will do it better than you.

A diamond in the rough! Food: great! I am not Filipino(the customers all were) but it tasted great. The buffet on Saturday and Sundays are varied with different items each time and is a great deal at $ 6.99(2012 price). They open at 11 that we got there early and the chefs still did not know when they were going to make so the last few dishes were a surprise(but a good one). They had chicken adobo, laing(taro leaves in coconut milk), lumpia, pork afritada, vegetable chopsuey. The food all tasted great. Since then, I’ve also used their food for catering a party. We got half trays of rice, pancit mihon, tofu/eggplant, lumpia, along with 20 vegetarian lumpia, and 30 chicken BBQ skewers. we made our own salad, veggie/dip tray, provided potato chips, birthday cake, and this was just the right amount of food for 28 adults and 6 kids. lumpia and bbq are a must. Please note thing is vegetarian except the vegetarian lumpia. the tofu/eggplant dish uses oyster sauce. I asked them to use a vegetarian oyster sauce instead and they did not know what that was but they said they would do it(this was for the catering). Service: Everyone is nice, it is order at the counter and self-serve. Ambience: casual. It really is like going into someone’s kitchen CASH only

NEEDCATEREDFILIPINOFOOD? COMEHERE. Lightweight ghetto and hole in the wall, but this place makes quality food. I had them cater my graduation party last year and the complements on the food were endless. The highlights were the lumpia, pork inihaw, menudo, the bbq, and the turon. The delivery was right on time and they helped bring it up and everything! Excellent service, excellent food, and excellent price. Now the restaurant itself is nothing fancy, so don’t come here if that’s what you’re looking for. Nick’s feels like eating at a friends house for a classic Filipino party, but without all your nosy aunties inquiring if anybody is «courting you yet». The TV is always on TFC, which adds to the vibe. And the staff are very friendly and accommodating. Very very casual, so you’re down for that, then Nick’s is for you.

i’m disappointed. the first experience and rating i had here was excellent. i just called them now and tried to order for delivery like last time. the total was $ 45+. then they said i needed to order $ 60 worth of food for them to deliver. the last time, they told me i needed to order $ 40 worth, which i did on top of giving a very nice tip. they delivered to me at the same place i asked them to deliver today– in pacifica but closer to daly city border(near skyline and hickey). i raved about them to all my local friends and family and rated them highly here on Unilocal but unfortunately, their inconsistency has turned me off. i wish this wasn’t the case bc we were excited and going to be very faithful customers esp. bc of the delivery service.

I don’t know how I feel about the location of this restaurant. I was scared driving here because I was unfamiliar with the area and it’s kinda ghetto too but hey if the food is good I’d take my chances lol On Unilocal it says they deliver but when I called they said there is a $ 40 dollar minimum so i guess I will drive there then cuz I aint eating $ 40 worth of food myself lol Came here and the restaurant was empty! The place does feel really homey with their flowers decorations and all. One of the worker was watching some filipino TV drama and took my order. She seemed annoyed when I started asking her questions about the menu and so I just quickly ordered chicken adobo rice plate. It was $ 6.50 and tasted pretty good, love the rice and they give 4 pieces of chicken. It also comes with 2 well done eggs. Overall it was a filling meal and I was happy with it. I am excited to come on the weekends for their cheap all you can eat buffet! Don’t worry I will definitely wear my stretchy pants hahaha

I have never in my life seen longanisa served the way that Nick’s does. The longanisa is SMASHED. YES, people, SMASHED into a flat, patty-like piece of goodness. Its very flavorful and delicious. The to-go silogs come with garlic rice, 2 patties of longanisa(how weird does that sound), a slice of tomato, and two hard sunny side up eggs(not exactly how I prefer my eggs, but its allll good). Bottom line, JUSTGO! Thanks to the Alcantara family for introducing me. I can’t have longanisa anywhere else but here and home now!

Very hole in the wall place. If you’re expecting to be wined and dined here, this is not the place for you. Real down to earth filipino food. We ordered: 1. Tapsilog 2. Tocilog 3. Lumpia shanghai Each silog came with the typical tomato, two eggs, and garlic fried rice. The portion size was pretty big for the price paid($ 6 – 7). The tocino was really tasty. I loved the little bits of fat attached to the meat. The eggs were over hard; which I like as well. My other half thought the tapa was a little dry. He needed the sauce to get more flavor. The lumpia was good. Personally, I would like there to be a little more meat in the lumpia. At times it felt like I was eating more fried wrap than filling. I’d definitely eat at Nick’s again for typical filipino silogs, but not for other things like Hong Kong Styled pork chop from Gateway Kitchen! =x

Eh. Kinda ghetto. Super sweet service because it’s a mom n pop shop, but the food was only okay. I’ll probably give them another shot one day, but it definitely live up to the hype. I was waiting for my pancit, the woman who saw me decided to speed up the process by going to kitchen and grabbin my food(after taking my $, but before washing her hands) she proceeded to put the lemon in the tray with her bare hands… The order the cook made was spread into two take out orders and she started packing mine, while I saw the other woman adding the rest of the toppings to the other order.(I guess I got skimped because I was waiting in person? –_-) Shanghai rolls were nicely crisp but the taste just wasn’t all that.

«OG Filipino kitchen» was what came to mind as I sat waiting for my to-go order. It took me way back to the 80s when I was much younger and spent lots of time in my auntie’s kitchen.(Auntie = my actual aunt or my friends’ moms!) Right down to the purple(or lavendar?) décor and, the tantalizing smell of filipino food cooking, the TV stand in the corner and the TFC playing on the little old school TV! Oh how I miss my youth… The food was pretty good! Can’t go wrong with any silog order. It took a little while, though but every filipino restaurant seems to be that way.

I need to start by saying Nick and his family are amazing! They have such a way with the magic that happens in the kitchen. Each dish is prepared full of flavor. I also had my baby shower here a year ago, of course the general décor isn’t anything special but the food and kindness makes up for it. It’s all so authentic! I love little places like these, they are genuine and the food is always full of flavor.

The atmosphere is pretty much zero stars. No, it’s not pretty. I’ve never stayed to eat. All FOUR stars are for the tocino! I love tocino, but most of the time I don’t even bother to order it from anywhere, because it’s almost always completely overcooked – burnt, stale, and chewy. Nick’s does it right! My grandmother has ordered some other things from here which were okay, but I am just all about their tocino! Yum!

Another one of those places where if you blink-and-you’ll-miss it, and although there are not many reasons to stop on Geneva, found one today. $ 6.50 gets you rice and two hot items, adobo and dinuguan were both tasty, good portions and good amount of sauce. Palabok was good too but a little soggy, also around $ 6. The shanghais are good as well, you might need a to-go box for the extras because you get 20 in an order. Homemade chicharrones too! And I guess the way they promote their weekend buffet is to leave the chaffers out all the time in the back corner. They also have TFC on their TV, and LOUD. They only take cash, which I can understand for a little place like this(since they have to pay fees for those credit card machines, both monthly and per transaction, not everyone knows that). All in all, good job Nick, aka«Mr. Flip-flop», because he cooks while wearing them. Maybe that, along with the other stuff is what makes this place so quirky good.

I heard about Nick’s thru my sister a few months back. A friend of ours celebrated his bday during the Niners vs. Seahawks tailgate and the game happened to fall on a Thursday. We wanted to make it easier on ourselves to just order something and pick up on the way to candlestick. I ordered 100 pieces of Lumpia and it only cost $ 25. What a deal! When we arrived, we were greeted by the owners. While waiting for the lumpia, I tried one of their chicken BBQ sticks, really good and tasty. We also had señor sisig tacos(i know, random) with us and the owners were nice enough let us eat our tacos there. The lumpia was a huge hit. Everyone love them and was all gone by the time the game started. Looking forward to trying their buffet if I ever make it out to daly city on the weekends.

The weekend buffet saved me for my daughter’s confirmation. I asked if they could accommodate a large party and they delivered. They even asked what kind of food I wanted for the buffet and prepared it for us. Pancit bihon, sinigang, menudo, pinakbit and chicken adobo. They even had lumpia shanghai ready for us. Had my family meet me there after the long confirmation mass and they had plenty of food for all of us. My daughter’s friend’s family came along too and we filled up the place. I have a pretty large extended Filipino family, though what Filipino doesn’t, and they are pretty picky about Filipino food(because of course they always say they can make it better) but they LOVED the food here. Thanks again Hermie and Nick for the hospitality and great food!
