Western Sizzlin

I had to give one star because it didn’t give me the option for zero. I’ll give that one star to the waitress. We should have gone to McDonald’s out in front because their awful food tastes better than what was served here. The roast beef was swimming in grease. The chicken had no taste. The ribs were boiled first. Nothing had much taste.
I won’t be back. I’ve tried this restaurant a few times before over the years, since we live locally. I’ll stay home enjoy my home cooking rather than try to give myself a day off and eat bland, over cooked flavorless garbage.

I had lunch there yesterday and the food was good for a buffet. Actually it was the best buffet I have had in a while. I will definitely go back when I want to eat way to much food.

I have never left Western Sizzlin hungry, that’s for sure! I always get the ribeye medium or medium well (depending on how I feel that day) and it has always been cooked to temp. My husband and kids always get the bar and have never been disappointed. There is usually a wide variety of meats offered at the bar and it allows my kids to try a wide range of foods without wasting money on whole plates. If they happen to find something they don’t like, they get a different item the next time they go to the bar and get a plate.
The staff is usually pretty friendly, though we have had a run in with one waitress who wasn’t quite chipper. I can’t remember her name but it was only one time out of many, so maybe she was just having a bad day.

Western Sizzlin has been a staple in my diet since the age of four. The salad bar is most likely the best in town, but it could be a little less vertical. There isn’t really a good selection when it comes to anything else at the bar as most of the food does suck very badly, but the steaks are pretty OK. I have to give it three stars for pure nostalgic value. I also would like to note that I find it frustrating that I can never figure out whether to sit in West Texas or Montana.

The salad bar was good but everything else was nasty. We visited right at dinner time on a Sunday night and expected the food to be reasonably fresh. It wasn’t. The fried fish was cold and the fried chicken was so dry we couldn’t eat it. Everything else was such low quality food. This is the first time I’ve left a buffet place hungry.

Great value. $ 9.99 buffet with my bottomless pits (boys). Great selection of protein and vegetables. Salad bar and desert bar as well.
