Barton Family and Cosmetic Dentistry

Love this place! I’ve gone here most of my life. Everyone is super nice, including Dr. Barton, and they’ve always done really well with my dential work. I’ve never had any complaints!

The service was fine. Husband had been here before. The problem is with the claim getting paid. At first it was on the insurance’s end. Then I discovered after 2^nd request to insurance company, that the claim had someone else social security number on it! Dentist office was called and they resent claim, again. Almost a year after date of service, I am hearing for the first time, that procedure done, had a 2 year waiting period, which I confirmed with the insurance company and through the employer’s insurance rep. Also, learned for the first time, that this dentist was out-​of-​network with our current insurance. Something we didn’t check, nor did the office. I wish we had been given 2 estimates for procedure, one out of network and one in-​network. I believe we only got the estimate for in-​network. Just because the dental office files the claim does not mean they are in-​network with insurance. In conclusion:
1) Eligibility was checked for routine checkup, not procedure done,
2) I received a text on my cellphone wishing someone else a happy birthday, NOT happy that someone else was linked to our account OR my phone number!
3) wrong social security number on our claim and sent that way twice!
4) If office people do not know if in & out of network info, please give 2 estimates for procedures, because some people will pay the out of network cost just to see the dentist or doctor they prefer.
NOT happy about owing over $ 1,100.00 when estimate given was $ 350. Yes, an estimate is just that, a guess, however, had they given the out-​of network cost, I could made the decision to pay, put it off or find in-​network dentist.
