What a nice find-didn’t know we had bbq vent places in Dallas. Food was great, service a little slow. Can’t wait to come back again. I’ll definitely be sharing this place with friends.

Somewhat of an unconventional interior design. Chain linked fence with loose gravel flooring. Small round table and metal folding chairs. When you sit down, wiggle the chair to make sure it goes between the gravel to hit concrete, otherwise it is unstable to sit on. We ordered a seafood tofu soup and spicy chicken bulgogi. The meal also comes with rice and the usual small side dishes. Just like what others say about it, the side dishes were amazing. The kimchi, bean sprout, and thinly sliced marinate daikon were delicious. The tofu soup was flavorful and not overly salty. The chicken bulgogi was perfectly marinated. Now the bad part about this place. Venting… non existent. They really need to beef up the venting. This place uses coal grills. The emissions needs to be properly expelled out of the restaurants. It got so smokey in the restaurant because those tiny circular vents just doesn’t cut it. Don’t touch the vents! It probably hasn’t been cleaned in a while. It was gooey and sticky from all the oil and grime stuck to it. The food was solid 5 stars. Absolutely delicious! But, I took away 1 star for the crappy ventilation, and another for the cleanliness of the place. The service was horrible. Only one server running the entire store. Even though the service was slow, but I can tell he his working really hard to get to everyone. His attitude was pretty good even though he was obviously overwhelmed; therefore, I didn’t take another star.

It’s fairly sad that this restaurant never got to be as popular as it deserved — it always had an exciting selection of meats. This last visit they were out of bulgogi and there was only one server for the whole restaurant. Unfortunately I think it’s on it’s last leg.

The meats is fresh, the place not so bad(different environments) best of all meats grilled on charcoal it’s totally take you different level of taste. Prices between $ 15-$ 50 not so bad. Good service 4 star… Definitely recommend…

This the 7 th Korean bbq restaurant of all over the America. Some people may say the price is a little bit expensive, but it was before. Right now the meat portion is much more bigger than before. It’s worthy to spend family time in here.

I really DONT want go back this restaurant because service was really TERRIBLE !!! The waiter came to take the order and after he NEVER came back, he was too busy drinking with his friends at the next table. Also most importantly the food was horrible and just expensive. For the same price you can get a lot better korean barbeque else where. Dont waste your time, money, energy on this place.

I really like the feel and atmosphere of this place. It’s very cozy and old-school and reminds me a lot of Korea. I feel like I’m stepping into the streets of Seoul when I walk in here. The food is just perfect. All of the side dishes, the purple rice, the choice of meat. I think the old style grill is a hassle though. They use aluminum wrapped grills so that means that they constantly have to change it out… literally everytime after one grilling session. When it gets busy, there’s only 1 or 2 servers so it takes a while for us to get our grill changed which is a bummer. But the server is very fast and patient so it makes it okay

Terrible experience! First of all, only one server trying to take care of 7 tables at same time. I feel bad. but he forgot about our table for awhile. We ordered all the mix and match combo.. It was really ripped off. first of all, they put a steam egg on the side of the grill, which it never got cook so we can’t even eat it. Side dish was not even enough, the meat amount was so small, I honestly don’t know how and why my bill was 50. Would u ever see me. no. Sorry Jin is a lot better than this shit. I felt sorry for server, but it wasn’t worth my money. 50 dollar grill was so crap, we went to grab dollar tacos afterward.

Five loud crazy girls at this joint and surprisingly no one kick us out. Hahaha! I like the privacy setting at this restaurant. Small rooms for each party. The table has built-in charcoal grill. The floor is plain cement decorated with rocks. Ghetto weird design but interesting! The server accidentally brought us the owner’s Soju cocktail for water. I never had it before so I was stupidly enjoyed the refreshing«Korean water» until my friend tried it and she said it had soju in it. Damn! For a moment there I thought Korean invented some hella good shit water. Haha! We ordered 2 of the special combo and it was filling for 5 of us. The food was so good. Meat on charcoal grill always taste better than gas grill. Come, try, and judge for yourself.

There is a ton of variety in the stylings of Korean BBQ places. Some are decorated like japanese Izakayas, most like strip mall chinese take out places. Yun Tan Gil is a sort of mixture between a japanese Izakaya and a parking garage. Let me explain. The interior walls are lined with little round tables surrounded by faux black mesh walls. Some of the rooms have gravel — others don’t. Perhaps to accommodate some ADA standard? If you get one of the rooms near the back, you will be dining facing a wall of stored goods — boxes, extra chairs, just random shit piled up. Thus the garage feel. The ambiance at Yun Tan Gil is clearly not what anyone is there for. Additionally given the tiny-ness of the grill for each table of up to 6, it will literally take you hours to eat, and during those hours you will get sore due to the fact that all the chairs are uncomfortable metal folding chairs. I don’t like uncomfortable chairs. Yes, they have chicken, and seafood, but most of the items on the menu are beef or pork. The vegetable selection is EXTREMELY limited, and also expensive($ 16 for mushrooms?). I ended up eating about 4 bay scallops, 4 shrimp, and some squid tentacles during my visit, while the rest of my dining companions stuffed their faces with pork belly, beef, squid, scallops, shrimp, and mussels. They ended up ordering four $ 50 combo plates for the table, and to my amazement they did eat most of it, although they could probably have gotten what they ate(just the meat instead of the meat plus the beef miso soup/egg) for about $ 20 cheaper per combo plate. It would have been a much better dining experience for me had the seafood combo included octopus. Since it only had one type of seafood I actually like(scallops) and three that I dislike to varying degrees(from shell-on shrimp, to squid, to mussels), it was my least favorite KBBQ meal. The ban chan here was also disappointing, however, the bean sprouts and kimchi were delicious, so they formed about half of my meal. That said, the egg soufflé was good too, but it was so hard to get out of the cooking tray that most of it just got gummed on there and was never consumed. Overall, even if you eat pork and/or beef, there are better cheaper places to get it around these parts. If you have a limited set of non-beef/pork meats/fishes that you consume, I’d say definitely avoid this place. Dan Sung Sa is literally right down the street and their price/portion/variety ratio is way better.

This is my first foray into the land of Korean food. As a fan of Anthony Bourdain, I knew I had to try it. So when my friends told me about this place and that it was absolutely delicious I knew I had to go. I was not disappointed. The meat and fish were very lean appropriate accoutrements were supplied. I was fascinated that we cooked or own meal. Friends Jodi and Toby were the Grill masters, and what a meal it was. Definitely recommended for anyone who is open to a new culinary adventure.

Cool Vibe. Probably the best representation in Dallas of how you eat Korean bbq in Korea. The Pork Belly was good, the chicken was okay, and the beef was terrible. Got mad diarrhea that day. Pretty expensive. I was hoping the quality would be better because it’s not ACYE.

Nope. 1. Ordered the $ 32.99 combo. Portions were small for 2. Fatty meat. 2. Service sucks. No one will check up on you for more water or side dishes 3. You have to ask for rice 4. Allows patrons to smoke cigarettes 5. Left hungry after paying almost $ 40 w/tax and tip

LOVE this place! Not quite sure why it took me so long to make the trek here but Im so glad I did! When you first walk in, it appears very sketchy. Individual rooms separated by mesh screens so you can see your ‘neighbor’ the seats are cold and sit on a pile of rocks lol service isnt up to par but I didnt get my hopes up prior for that. Thank gah the food totally made up for it. YTG offers individual meat plates or combo meals. The boyfriend and I always opt for the YTG combo #2(perfect for 2 ppl) which includes a variety of slices meats and includes a bottle of soju or 2 beers. Soju pls! I wish they offered a lil more variety of the traditional sides but eh… w. e! i love that youre cooking on a pile of hot coal vs on a gas grill, it gives it a lot more flavor in my opinion. They dont bring out rice unless you ask for it but you wont really be needing it. They accept cash & credit so thats a plus, also! Be careful trying to find this place though cause its kind of hard to spot since their sign is in Korean!

First off banchan sucks– undercooked potatoes, bland bean sprouts, dry kimchi, and salty warm beanpaste soup. They gave us a small bowl of garlic and jalapenos, I don’t like that they chopped up the jalapenos small and not slices. I did like that everybody got their individual sauces though. I don’t like that they didn’t serve rice, maybe you need to ask for it but that should be a given. Our table was so small, could barely fit anything. And the chairs are on loose rocks, so weird. Waiter wasn’t friendly at all. It was dead when we went but they said they ran out of cheese corn! So we got double egg instead. I don’t like that they put foil on the grill. Easy clean up for them but meat doesn’t get as crispy. YTG meat combo #2. 49.99 and it comes with a bottle of soju, or 3 domestic beers, or 2 import beers. Good deal. Meat quality was good. Almost wanted to give it 3 stars for this but everything else makes it a 2. Spicy squid. I love squid but it was pretty bland, not spicy at all.

So this is apparently what legit, kbbq in Korea is like. Its a coal fire grill in the middle and fold out chair around it. You order meat by the plate and its not buffet style like jin or omi, each plate of meat is btw 15-$ 20. Abd it feeds maybe one person. We got 5 plates or meat for 5 people and we left hungry… the bill was $ 100 total and for leaving hungry… The meat did taste fresher than most place but idt it was worth the drive and money. I left and got some ghetto tacos afterwards… Worth a visit if you are near by but if you’re from plano or Richardson like me, then save the trip

Atmosphere is the best part of the place! Food is good… soup is better! Side dishes were typical. Egg was an interesting touch to the meal.

I’ve come to really love YTG. The atmosphere is chill and relaxed, not like Omi’s, don’t come expecting fancy kbq or anything. You each get your own little«room» with a TV. Some room your chair will be sitting on rocks.(I don’t like it, but it’s bearable) Service: is always pretty quick here, and they’re pretty good about checking up on you. Food: I love the combination deal, we usually get the $ 50 one that comes with 2 or 3 different main meat, miso soup, and a bottle of soju or beer. It’s a pretty good deal, that will usually fill up 3 people. I especially love their miso soup, usually I always prefer kimchijjigae but their miso soup is so delicious! Perfect amount of saltiness. After they start up your coal fire pit, they pour the egg on the sides, which is a neat way to serve it. I love eating their pork belly wrapped in lettuce. Writing all this makes me crave YTG… It’s definitely worth the drive every time.

Firstly walking in it looks so cool. personal tables with mini TVs… I love that! It was a bit chilly though when we came in, but as soon as our fire went on it was too hot… First world problems, haha. we ordered the bulgogi and spicy chicken. Both were marinated with perfection. Our waiter was very helpful since we normally have our food cooked in the back and this place didn’t have that feature. He did one round of meats and then left it up to us and I think we did a good job… actually our waiter even said we did better than he did, haha! The section that we had ordered from said if we got 2 dishes we get a tofu soup and egg with our meal. The egg we did not even eat… they pour raw egg around the cylinder of the fire area so it can cook as time goes by… so that was a waste! Then the soup, not a very flavorful broth. We also ordered the seafood tofu soup which overall was tasty but could have used more seafood! Overall a very fun and tasty experience. I must say their kimchi is one of the best I have had!
