I stopped by Yosif's Tires on E. Ledbetter (14 Jun 2022) for a state mandated annual vehicle inspection. As the State Licensed Inspector was was walking to my car he told me, "I can tell you now, you're going to fail because of the crack in the windshield." I stated, "It's my understanding that cracked windshields are not an item that will fail the TX Inspection." He responded that it was and impacted "safety." He then said he could pass it for $80 (eighty dollars). The State mandated annual inspection fee for a regular passenger vehicle is $25. I didn't tell this thief that I owned a national car repair facility in Texas for 10 yrs (Which I sold before the economy tanked.) I know darn well what is required by the State of Texas and when some thief is trying to play me. I declined to line his pockets and I left. I went farther down the street and found a corporate chain gas station that inspected my vehicle (cracked windshield and all) without any issues, for $25. The guy doing inspections at Yosif's Tires at 337 E Ledbetter Dr., 75216 is a thief charging Texans much more than the State fee for nonsense he makes on at his whim. The inspector was an arab man with a small thin beard, perhaps in his late 30s. I didn't see a name tag and once I found out he is a thief, I got away ASAP!
