Very yummy! My first ever food truck experience at SciFi Expo in Irving 10⁄13 was with these guys and my husband and I were not disappointed! I loved how you could customize exactly what you wanted. The food was also fresh and hot!

Now here’s something interesting. Prior to moving to Dallas, I lived and worked for a company based in Brussels. It was there that I first encountered Woké. Imagine the surprise in mid November when I saw a Woké truck parked outside of the AT&T Performing Arts Center in Dallas! As it turns out, the Woké truck fills a space here in Dallas that really doesn’t have a standing competitor, and for that reason I’m a fan. Star 1: How was the service and atmosphere? Great. I don’t know who did the hiring over here, but the guys in the truck are really great. Friendly, knowledgeable and down to throw out some constructive opinions on what to order, I could have hung out with these guys independent of getting a bite to eat. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? $ 9.00 ain’t cheap, but it should be no surprise that, like other trucks, Woké charges a premium for their wares. My guess is they’re fitting to fire up the brick and mortar storefront here in the states and are testing some prices out. Regardless of the reason, I’m hoping these prices come down just a little bit, but as it stands, $ 9 wasn’t too bad for a full freshly made carton of grub. Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? Very good. I opted to go for stir fried noodles with chicken, peppers, and chili garlic sauce ‘spiced up’. The combination turned out to be pretty good, but I do have a tad bit of constructive criticism. Above all else, don’t be afraid to season up the meats before adding sauce! Sauce can’t carry a dish, and those that do meat right(see: Chipotle) have it so that you could eat the dish without a drop of sauce and still enjoy or opt to liven it up even more with sauce. This wasn’t the case at Woké, where the chicken strongly relied on the Chili Garlic sauce. Liven up that chicken independent of the sauce and you’ll be in business. Secondly, I’m not entirely sold on the veggie combos. Sure, it’s simple, but I have to imagine that you’re going to have so many people picking the pre-established combinations apart that it’ll eventually be worth it just to offer everything a la carte. Just an opinion. Single Star Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? Woké has some huge potential in the states, and I’m glad to see that they’re testing here in Dallas. They fill the asian truck space really, really well. Star Granted.
