This was actually the second time my friend and I attempted to try this place and I can honestly say that I don’t plan on going back. We walked in around 5:30 on a Thursday evening and were told that we could try to find a spot at the bar. Apparently the entire restaurant was completely reserved and they were«no longer accepting walk-ins.» A server, Yeric(who was the only positive part of the experience), overheard me talking to the hostess then stopped and got the manager for us. The manager(I think her name was Rachel) came to us and insincerely apologized for not having tables available, found us a spot at the bar and comped queso. The service was less than stellar, the food is just okay, drinks were decent, but even at happy hour, it is still overpriced for what it was. AJ was the bartender helping us and he seemed putout by having to take our orders and make our drinks. Yeric made it a point to stop by to see how we were doing and offer to help with anything we needed. We left a little after 7:00 and a large group had just been sat in the back of the restaurant. All of the tables near the bar were empty… so much for being completely booked!

The chips and salsa verde were very flavorful. The beef barbacoa taquitos were stuffed with meat and accompanied by a sampling of greens. Nice atmosphere with unique décor. A good place for dinner.

Excellent food. Guacamole chips — green salsa that comes with is the best we’ve ever had. Fajitas beef and chicken were excellent. Beautiful presentation. Service was excellent — even though they were very very busy. Great place, you won’t be disappointed.

There are few times in my life that I have EVERYONE decided to write a review of any company for any reason. My experience at this location, on a Saturday night at 5pm when this place had no more that 20 guests, was absolutely horrible. — greeting staff was not atentative nor friendly — wait staff, although friendly, very unprofessional, untrained and I felt like our simple needs were not met. When I say simple, I mean, simple drink order didn’t come out for over ten minutes. — we ordered and 1 out of 6 orders came out correct. Issues: fish not cooked all the way, order missing and came out 15 minutes after the other food was delivered, meal brought to out table, that was correct, but they took it back because the sides were not with it. — spoke to the 3, count them 3 managers they had their, and although they were polite, atentative and seemed to want to make things right for our party, just could not get it correctly t either. The out come was, 2 of the 6 people even ate their food. My wife is now sick after eating the uncooked fish, 3 of us decided to not even eat the food that was brought to the table. We were compted all food but paid for our tables drinks which totalled about $ 40, and we left a $ 20 tip. I will never go to this establishment again and will make sure no friends nor family ever goes there either. BETTERLUCKNEXTTIMEWILDSALSASTAFF!

First time at this restaurant last Friday night. Service was horrible! The waiter was totally lost. When taking our order, he just stopped and went to another table, took their order and disappeared. His disappearing act was repeated through the evening. Food took forever to arrive after we were finally able to order(even after saying that we needed to make a showtime). The food was nothing special and was over salted. The check was incorrect. Management seemed to be absent and/or unaware. Dined here based on the Unilocal reviews. Not impressed at all and will never go back.

The food is amazing! I love Mexican, and this place does a fantastic job. Great fresh salsa and guacamole. The tamales are huge and the salads are tasty. The table experience is great, we had a wonderful server who was attentive and have good suggestions. Tip: do NOT sit at the bar. The second time I was here we sat for 40 minutes before we received the guacamole we ordered, and people who came after us ordering to-go had their food packages and ready to go before we received our meals. Overall the food is great.

I am sad because the quality has really gone down. I had Three Cheese Quesadillas and either it was one tasteless cheese or they somehow found three completely bland white cheeses. Service is slow and they make you wait for table even when many are open.

I’ve been to this establishment quite a few times over the last two years. My boyfriend lives nearby and we like the atmosphere and lamb. Most recently we went last week, Tuesday, on date night(which is a good spot for dates). We usually get the leg of lamb, but we’ve tried other things on the menu when we’re not too hungry. I am of Mexican and Tex-Mex cultures so I usually do not go out to Mexican restaurants, but this one has different enough options that I consented to go. Pros: — the lamb leg is excellent every time, feeds two or three people. 5⁄5 — everything else we’ve tried(except the enchiladas) has been delicious but I say 4⁄5 as it does not compare to the lamb. — complimentary chips and salsa are scrumptious. My boyfriend has come for drinks just to also get those chips. He has also asked to take the extra chips and salsa on the table home without the wait staff making him feel weird for being the weirdo that he is. — wait staff is attentive but not overbearing. — the place is also bustling but not packed. I’ve had to wait for a table only once and for less than ten minutes — artsy, fun, colorful, ethnic décor that doesn’t assault your eyes — you can actually hold a conversation without the music blaring. Therefore, great for dates. — free mini paletas in the cooler when you exit! Cons: — Not open for Sunday when I want brunch!!! — enchiladas could use some help — TVs all over the place playing sports(not just in the bar area) which are distracting for me. I find myself staring at them even when I’m not interested. — the patio never seems to be open, even in nice weather. — the cocktail drinks are not exciting(and weak), sub par for downtown Dallas We will be returning for the lamb. Would recommend for someone seeks off-beat Mexican but not for traditional Mexican or traditional Tex-Mex.

Awesome place everyone must try!!! In the heart of Dallas this beautiful colorful restaurant has won my tummy. Was in for dinner tonight and was very impressed with the service and atmosphere. My waitress Veronica and her trainer anthony did an amazing job in explaining the menu to me and my friends since our Spanish is limited. I had fajitas and they where amazing. I will be returning soon. this has become one of my new favorite places.

Great, authentic Mexican food! Located in the heart of downtown Dallas, it has a perfect location for city goers and the food is delicious. They have great margaritas(the margarita Fresca is fantastic), and great food too!

This was our first time to venture a little further from our normal walking spots in Downtown, but we wanted to see the 24k Golf Balls that were laid out on the grass shaped like Jordan Spieth, and this place was beside the park. We got there about 11:30am on Thursday and the place didn’t have many people in it, so they easily sat us. Our waiter was named Dakota and he was awesome. He wasn’t one of those over bearing, or disappearing servers that you sometimes get. My coworker asked for a lemon wedge for his water, so Dakota brought us 4. The first thing that was put in front of us was their Salsa Verde and chips. Verde salsa is ok, but this was awesome! My boss doesn’t even like salsa Verde and he really enjoyed it. My coworker also commented on the salsa and how good it was. It was nice and purée thick with a fantastic flavor. I HATE runny salsas. So I give their salsa much more than 5 stars. Dakota also refilled our chips and salsas when they were getting low. I ordered the beef quesadillas, and it came with the purple slaw. The quesadillas were tasty, but not one of those that I would walk there again to get, and the purple slaw was ok, if you like that sort of thing. I just added the Verde salsa to my plate and used it as a dip. Yummy! My boss ordered the 3 taco combo(2 steak and one chicken tinga). He thought the steak was good, but he thought the chicken was a little tomato-ee. Almost like they had the chicken cooking in some kind of tomato sauce before pulling the shredded chicken out and putting it on the taco. It came with cilantro rice and black beans. Oh yeah, and he got the purple slaw stuff too. He looked worried about the rice, but he said it was actually pretty good, and the beans had a nice taste. He said the slaw was good without having an overpowering taste to it. My co-worker had the Barbacoa Torta, which is on sub bread, and it came with yep… more purple slaw. He loved his whole plate including the purple stuff. So, it was a good outing for all three of us. With me, it was all about the Salsa. I even asked if he could give me a little container to bring what salsa we had left on the table so I could have my husband try it AND I can play with trying to make it this weekend. He brought me a large plastic bowl with some in it and then added the other 2 bowls that were left on the table, that he had refilled about 15 minutes earlier. And to top it off, he sent me some more chips to bring home. He was awesome. I will go back just for the salsa, and next time I will try their shrimp tacos or quesadillas and even their cheese dip that everyone has been commenting on. The price range for lunch was between $ 9-$ 16, for their lunch specials.

Wanna know the spot in Dallas with the least flavorful tacos? It’s here! Seriously, they taste like nothin. So why 3 stars? The chips, salsa and queso dip. At least they got that right. Service was ok and they give you little ice cream pop candy things on your way out. Hard to describe but they helped compensate for those tragic tacos. I wasn’t too overly impressed with Mexican food in Dallas, but this was my least favorite taco experience during my stay.

The food and drinks where yum, yum to my tum. We ordered beef and chicken nachos and the queso blanco. The meat on the nachos was seasoned well and was in just about every bite. That queso had a great flavor. There was a surprising kick in the queso. Will definitely make another trip back here.

Loved the very special Dallas ambiance provided by the dark lighting, plush diamond studded seating, and covered«almost patio» with huge windows showcasing downtown. This is the perfect place to start your night on the posh streets of Dallas. Let’s start with the drinks– WOAH. Holy margarita heaven. My mouth waters just thinking about the avocado margarita. The spicy wild margarita is spot on as well. Apps– salsa flight? yes please. The food. Tacos, that’s all you need to know. AMAZING. so many delicious choices. Out of the 4 of us eating, 3 of us tried almost every type and everyone was happy. barbacoa, yum. shrimp breaded not so much :(, but still okay. I don’t live in Dallas anymore, but I’ll be back when I visit.

I came here with a couple friends in the hopes of finding some good Mexican food in downtown Dallas. My friends had been to Wild Salsa before for lunch and recommended that we try it. We came in late on a Monday night without a reservation and we we’re told that we would have to wait 10 to 15 minutes. We were perfectly happy waiting, but when we looked, it seemed like there were plenty of empty tables at which they could’ve seated us. Perhaps they were just slightly understaffed for the larger crowd that is in town. When we were finally seated, we were brought some complementary chips and salsa verde, both of which were delicious. After looking over the menu, I decided to order the Wild Rita to drink, a roasted pineapple & jalapeño infused tequila margarita, and an order of their grilled marinated Angus beef fajitas to eat. The drink was actually very tasty, although I did not feel like it was very strong. The fajitas plate was large and came with side dishes of rice, beans, and tortillas, as well as some pico de gallo, salsa verde, and sour cream. The dish came with quite a few pieces of beef served over top of grilled peppers, onions, and potatoes., while I really enjoyed onions, peppers, and potatoes, I found that the meat slightly unsatisfying. While in general I thought that the food was good, the service was definitely sub-par. Before being seated, we were waiting in their tiny entrance way. Since there were a few of us waiting, it was a little bit difficult to pass through. So, when one of the hostesses wanted to get through, she put her hand on my back and essentially pushed me out of the way. While I understand her wanting to get through a crowed walkway, she definitely could have done it in a more polite way. Also, getting our chips refilled was a real hassle. We had to ask multiple people for refills and even then it took some time. All in all, I think that Wild Salsa is an averagely decent Mexican restaurant. And, from the sound of it, seems like one of your better options if you are looking for Mexican in the downtown Dallas area. Hopefully on my next visit, the service will be a little bit better and I can potentially bump up this review.

— Great chips — The green salsa was nice — The bacon guacamole was better than average — The lengua taco was tender and full of flavor. Nicely flavored corn tortillas — The machaca taco was meh. Weird texture and too much onion — The tamale is divided into two parts. Very nice masa(not too dry, not too moist, good corn flavor), but the carnitas had a weird aftertaste — Ok service

We had a really good experience at Wild Salsa — we stopped in for dinner before an evening show at the Majestic. Our waiter was attentive and eager to chat after we asked several questions. Please don’t read that as he was overbearing — he was just super friendly and really knew food. The food is more Jalisco style, really fresh ingredients and a light touch. It’s not the cheapest Mexican you’re going to find, but if you want excellent quality and appropriate portion sizes, you can’t go wrong. We ordered queso(delicious with fresh poblano and melted queso fresco) and split an order of fajitas for our main with an extra side of rice and beans. It was more than enough food and did a good job of tamping down the buzz from our dos margaritas(each!) pre-dinner. A couple of standouts(posting photos of these): The house salsa. Amazing!!! Also, whatever you do, save room for the sopapillas. We split an order and it was just the right amount. Instead of being served huge sopapillas, the order is a pile of mini pillows of cinnamon-sugar covered heaven. It comes with three small squeeze bottles of toppings — chocolate, cinnamon-honey and cajeta. Oh, Lord! SOGOOD. Seriously — I’d go back just for drinks, chips and salsa, and sopapillas. Wild Salsa will be opening before long in Allen at the Shops at Fairview. Yay for even closer to home!

Tried this place with a friend today and I was really impressed! I am not a huge fan of Mexican, or anything spicy really, so this review should be surprising! First things first, the customer service was fantastic from start to finish. For a place that isn’t super fancy, I was waited on hand and foot. We ordered the sesame seed guacamole and while I’m not a huge fan of guacamole, it was super good! Same with their salsa verde, pretty delicious. I had the vegetable enchiladas verde for dinner and it was wonderful! It was also beautifully presented. I would definitely recommend. My friend had the ensalada tropica, which I tasted and wow! The combo of pineapple, coconut, and habanero was super good. I would def recommend.
