This was the first time I ever visited. I am their customer for life or at least as long as they exist. Humble customer service, good taste and portions.

If you’re looking for awesome food at a fantastic price this is definitely the place to go! But don’t lose hope if you are following Unilocal directions! this is a small orange building on the 1700 block — not the 700 block that Unilocal takes you too.
Fantastic catfish, fries, and tarta sauce. my boyfriend and I split the lunch special –which consisted of 6 catfish strips with housemade spiced tarta sauce, fries, bread, and pickles-​and a soda for just under $ 6 bucks.
The catfish aS PERFECTLY breaded, not too much or too little, and seasoned to perfection. it wasn’t greasy whatsoever, and the fries were fantasticly seasoned as well.
The gentleman working there was super nice and eager to answer any questions we had and help us figure out what we wanted to order.
The building is small, yet very cozy. with a few bar seats on either side. we will definitely be coming back here next time we are in town.

My wife and I dropped in on a Saturday and loaded up on catfish. I know others have said it over and over — but this is A+ fried catfish. Light, crunchy, not at all greasy — wow. Eat a few fillets on the supplied white bread with tartar sauce and dill pickles. You might never need a cheeseburger again… And yes, the hush puppies are just. that. good.
Service was amazing; cordial, helpful, and cheerful. We had a wonderful time and will be back together and with friends.

This place is dangerous! Catfish perfectly battered and fried. Shrimp is some of the best I’ve ever had. Homemade tartar sauce is a little spicy, but a must-​have. Hush puppies are $ 1 extra, but if you don’t try them, I question your judgement. Best catfish in North Texas… and that’s coming from a true East Texas country boy.

Drive further west on Singleton from the glitzy SoDoSoPa of Dallas (Trinity Groves) and you will find this hidden gem. It’s at the 1700 block of Singleton. Do not follow the Unilocal directions. It is the orange building across the street from Jerry’s Mercado.
Now try not to get discouraged. Your bravery will be rewarded.
I ordered a seven piece fried catfish fillet platter. It came with a huge order of fries, white bread and jalapeños.
The fish was flaky and crispy. The batter had just the right amount of zing. It didn’t even need hot sauce or their homemade tartar (which was also delicious).
I was greeted at the door by a kind gentleman, who had my call in order ready to go. Others have called this place a hole in the wall. Maybe– but it was a clean, brightly lit, and had good customer service.
When you want delicious, fast, cheap, high-​quality fried catfish Whisker’s is your place. I haven’t had better since I left Southeast Louisiana.
I will be back.

I love great catfish. I thought I made great catfish until I came here. This catfish puts mine on the back fryer. Wonderful, fresh catfish and perfect breading and seasoning to match. Not greasy and the best tarter sauce ever.
The French fries are great, too, and seasoned with a slightly spicy spice blend. A pickled jalapeño pepper comes with the basket. Mmmmm. I haven’t tried their burgers yet. I just can’t pull myself away from the catfish.
To top it off, Ray, the owner, is a nice guy who cares deeply about his customers. That is rare these days. Go there and enjoy what he has to offer.

Finally a place that understands how to fry quality catfish! Being from the Mississippi Delta (Home of farm raised catfish) I know good fried cat when I taste it.
It’s a small place and parking is tight, but it’s certainly worth a visit.

Pulled up to this place and was greeted by a cheerful young lady. Took our orders and we proceeded to sit at one of the stools along the wall.
The wait for the food wasn’t bad. 6pc catfish strip basket and my partner in crime got a cheeseburger basket. I like my fish crispy and skinny and it came just like that. Nice flavoring. But for some reason it was a bit rubbery for me. Idk if it were the way it was cut or what. The tarter sauce was good and so were the fries. The burger was my absolute fave! It was seasoned well and it tasted like a true homemade burger!
The young lady made sure we didn’t need anything and they even had one of the NCAA games playing on the tv.

Whole catfish with fries, jalapeño and sliced pickles also. You can not ask for more than that WHOLE CATFISH! My family and I really enjoyed are dining experience here. Ray was very nice and catered to our needs with our meal. «D» was awesome frying up our catfish and made our son’s bacon cheeseburger. If I can give this place more than five stars I would. The tartar sauce though. OMG! It’s off the chain… please if you are in the area of Trinity Grove make your way here and try it for yourself. You will not be disappointed. Great place and the hospitality is awesome.

This place is wonderful. If you put it in your GPS it takes you to 702 instead of 1702. Don’t give up, it’s worth the time getting here. Only a few blocks. It’s a small orange building.
The two of us got the catfish lunch special and 2 bottles of water and it only cost $ 12.00! This meal should be twice that price for all the food you get!
The catfish has great flavor, seasoned perfectly, not over battered, and not greasy. The French fries have a great seasoning on them and were hot and fresh. The tarter sauce is homemade and has incredible flavor. I’ve never had tarter sauce like this before, so good!
Lastly, the service is great. So kind and so genuinely nice! Love this place, 5 stars in my book!

I am so excited to find Whiskers, thanks Unilocalers! I got the catfish/​shrimp combo and it was yummo! It’s closer to home than the other 2 spots I like and it was way quicker getting in and out, I’ll definitely be back.

Finally gave this a try, Unilocalers are right. Great catfish and their tartar sauce is phenomenal. Great service from the team. My go to catfish place now.

Found this place on Unilocal and thought it maybe good, so me and my husband stopped by. This place has some of the Best catfish in Dallas. The place was clean, the people were really nice and had Great customer service, and their fish was fresh, clean, and seasoned just right. Nice place, we’ll be back!!!

My gf and I tried their burger, catfish, and shrimp, and it was all excellent! Super nice guy running the place, too. Note that it’s closer to Hampton than Sylvan, on the south side of Singleton.

Sweet baby Jesus this is the best CATFISH this side of the Mississippi. West Dallas needeed this badly. The fish is always so light and seasoned perfectly. I hate to admit that I eat here once a week (at the least) but I have different people pick it up just so I don’t look crazy… Does that sound crazy? Well if I sound crazy it’s because of the catfish, it drives me crazy. Oh yeah don’t forget EXTRA TARTER SAUCE. You’ll thank me later

Small establishment but the food is on point. I’ve been searching for a place with REAL catfish that’s seasoned. You won’t be disappointed. So get your fill then head down the road to The Cake Bar for a delicious dessert to compliment. They’ll work Great together! !!!

Yep. This place is in a depressed area but I had no problems. The food is fantastic. I had the 2 piece filet. The homemade tartar sauce is really good. I absolutely will be returning.

Great Catfish! I was searching for another spot and landed here and honestly it was BEST decision I made. Somewhat of a hidden gem and just because the outside won’t appeal to the masses doesn’t mean this place should be ignored by anyone. Owner was very nice and greeted me at the door. Customer Service will always go a long way with me. Back to the food… Tartar sauce was excellent that i had to ask for another. Very Nice sized catfish and everything included with the meal was simple and straight to the point. I would recommend even if you aren’t in the area to visit this spot.

This fish is AWSOME!!! The best fish I have ever tasted. I almost didn’t get any by the way the outside look but hey don’t judge a book by its cover. The fish was made fresh and homemade tartar sauce was good to. I wish they were open on Sunday’s and Monday’s because that’s when I’m able to get some… but trust me the fish is good so I don’t care what day of the week it is I will be going back…

I’ve eaten a lot of catfish. This catfish is some of the best! Fish and fries are nicely fried with even coat of batter. You can even taste the fish. Not sure what’s in the secret tarter sauce and I’m a fan.
Owner very friendly and attentive. Fast service especially since they fry up your order when you get there. No heat lamps
